Those sentiments come from a fellow whose whole career hinges on the debate that “spirals into acrimony and paralysis.”  After all, Obama is the one who laments death by guns while supporting “pervasive accessibility” to abortion on demand.  In fact, the most glaring contradiction in Obama’s Parkland stance is that 18 years ago, he would have heartily supported aborting the five teens to whom he pays Time tribute.

This time, something different is happening.  This time, our children are calling us to account[.] … [T]he Parkland, Fla., students don’t have the kind of lobbyists or big budgets for attack ads that their opponents do.  Most of them can’t even vote yet.

Despite all his talk about lack of lobbyists, big budgets, and attack ads, in truth, Obama is well aware that anti-gun billionaires organize and fund marches and recruit the media to demonize both the Second Amendment and the NRA.  Trust me: above all, Barack Obama is a wily twister of minds.  Whenever the former president says something isn’t happening, it should call attention to what he’s probably helping bring to pass.

In addition to deception, Obama’s written homage to youthful activism included the opinion that Parkland activists possess the “power so often inherent in youth: to see the world anew; to reject the old constraints, outdated conventions and cowardice too often dressed up as wisdom.”

Someone needs to ask the former U.S. president whether he considers adherence to the Bill of Rights an “old constraint, outdated convention and cowardice too often dressed up as wisdom.”  And, notwithstanding the opinion that radicalized youth exercise “[t]he power to insist that America can be better,” if the Constitution he considers “deeply flawed” manages to survive the left’s assault, is Obama saying America will be worse because of it?

Meanwhile, Obama’s obsequious rant continued with the following words:

Seared by memories of seeing their friends murdered at a place they believed to be safe, these young leaders don’t intimidate easily.  They see the NRA and its allies – whether mealy-mouthed politicians or mendacious commentators peddling conspiracy theories – as mere shills for those who make money selling weapons of war to whoever can pay.  They’re as comfortable speaking truth to power as they are dismissive of platitudes and punditry.  And they live to mobilize their peers.

Wait!  Barack Obama suddenly cares about safety?  This man displays zero compassion for babies slaughtered by the millions in the womb, “a place they believed to be safe.”  Moreover, during his tenure, when police officers were assassinated in the safety of a police cruiser and Americans murdered in cities once deemed safe, then-president Obama either remained silent or used the tragedy to commiserate with the perpetrators.

With that in mind, maybe mendacity and mealy-mouthedness are not character faults a person like Obama should be highlighting.

Furthermore, one can’t help but wonder what the five educationally “dumbed down” high school students, who Obama claims “speak truth to power” and “dismiss … platitudes and punditry,” would think if they knew he had handed murderous Mexican drug cartels “weapons of war” that resulted in Americans dying.

Anyway, in typical, Obama sullied the NRA and the Republican Congress and so-called “conspiratorial” conservative pundits.  Then, while attempting to “sway” the swayable, Obama condemned political adversaries for using the “scare tactics [he uses] on much of the country” every time he speaks.

Then Obama wrote: “But by bearing witness to carnage, by asking tough questions and demanding real answers, the Parkland students are shaking us out of our complacency.”  Sorry, but the words “carnage” and “complacency” are much more fitting to discussions concerning liberal policies with high body counts.

Then, without citing that the “disproportionate victims of gun violence” live in cities where gun laws are the strictest, America’s most famous community organizer demonized, prophesied, patronized, and attempted to get out the vote through ethnic and racial “common cause” when he wrote:

The NRA’s favored candidates are starting to fear they might lose.  Law-abiding gun owners are starting to speak out.  As these young leaders make common cause with African Americans and Latinos – the disproportionate victims of gun violence – and reach voting age, the possibilities of meaningful change will steadily grow.

In conclusion, Obama pronounced:

Our history is defined by the youthful push to make America more just, more compassionate, more equal under the law.  This generation – of Parkland, of Dreamers, of Black Lives Matter – embraces that duty.  If they make their elders uncomfortable, that’s how it should be.

Undoubtedly, based on those words, what remains clear is that our nation’s 44th president continues to side with anti-gun activists, illegal aliens, and radical racist groups, all of whom believe that this country is unjust, lacks compassion, and endorses inequality.

In like manner, Obama’s piece provokes the youthful to make elder Americans “uncomfortable,” which for Barack Obama is “the world” as “it should be.”

In the end, the Parkland students are five manipulable youths Barack Obama hopes to employ in his mission to craft a “future [that] isn’t written [by] us [or them], but by [himself].”  And so, in the progressive effort to revise America, the “kids” Obama would have cheerfully aborted 18 years ago are now his new recruits.

Amnesty for Ebola

UnknownOriginally posted at American Thinker

Recently, Time magazine published an article entitled “Ebola Just the Latest Hardship for Liberian Patient in the U.S.” The piece seemed to be written with the intent to elicit sympathy for a man who, in his quest to survive, illegally infiltrated a nation carrying a highly contagious hemorrhagic virus.

But then again, it’s really not entirely Thomas Eric Duncan’s fault. After all, Barack Obama has been broadcasting the message to the world that even if our Border Agents contract bacterial pneumonia and our schoolchildren are paralyzed and placed on breathing tubes, granting sick illegals access to America takes precedence over the safety and well-being of the people he vowed to protect.

Think of it! America may be on the precipice of a pandemic that could kill 50% of the world’s population and Barack Obama decides now is the time to announce that he’s clearing the way for refugee status visas for 70,000 more people, many of whom will undoubtedly be infected with viruses and pathogens foreign to American soil.

In Third World countries, rushing to America in time for amnesty is all the rage right now. If Time magazine is correct, Duncan was apparently planning to meet up with an illegal family already here.

Jay Newton-Small, the author of the Time article, says:

For Thomas Eric Duncan, the visa to visit his family in the United States was a golden reprieve: a chance to escape the poverty and sickness surrounding him in the Liberian capital of Monrovia… and a chance, maybe, to stay on and build a better, safer life.

Attempting to portray Duncan as a Good Samaritan, Small writes that, according to the New York Times, Duncan caught Ebola:

[h]elping carry a heavily pregnant neighbor back from the hospital where she was turned away from the overflowing Ebola ward. The 19-year-old girl died that night, early on Sept. 16. Her 21-year-old brother, who also helped carry her, died a week later in an ambulance on the way to the hospital.

Although touching, for some reason, immediately following his good deed Duncan decided to come to the U.S., so he lied on a Liberian exit form by denying that he had had contact with Ebola. Then the humanitarian do-gooder climbed aboard a United Airlines flight and after a few stops ended up in Dallas, Texas, where he proceeded to infect upwards of 100 people, including school-age children.

Thus far, Barack Obama, who scared the wits out of America in October 2009 over the H1N1 flu, has not uttered one word about Duncan’s escapades or acknowledged that the Enterovirus 68, which is endemic to Latin America, may be at the root of an outbreak here that has taken the life of a 10-year-old Providence, Rhode Island girl as well as three adults.

Meanwhile, clownish Obama administration representatives attempt to quell public fears by reassuring the nation that the same government that can’t find Lois Lerner’s emails is fully equipped to track down and corral anyone who came in contact with Thomas Eric Duncan.

As for Mr. Duncan, the virus is out of the bag, so to speak. Still, the Liberian government — which refuses to discontinue flights out of Liberia — and the Dallas district attorney are both threatening to prosecute Mr. Duncan for endangering the lives of so many people, including hospital staff who sent him home with antibiotics a few days before he was diagnosed with Ebola and quarantined.

Meanwhile, questions remain as to how a poverty-stricken, unemployed war refugee obtained a visa so quickly, and what kind of visa he actually possessed.

Soon after a visit from his sister, on September 4th “Eric” abruptly quit his job as a driver for Safeway Cargo, the Liberian customs clearance agent for FedEx.  That’s why it’s pretty clear that sister Mai Wureh, a nurse from Charlotte, N.C., convinced her frightened brother that the time was right to come to America, and provided him the money he needed for the voyage.

Why die in a puddle of your own blood and vomit outside a tin shack/hospital in Monrovia when the United States will take you in and provide for all your needs, including giving you a whole ward in a hospital in Dallas, Texas?

So, Thomas Eric Duncan signed on to the Obama Amnesty Plan.  The OAP exclusive package is compliments of the president and features illegal immigrants — sick, healthy, whatever — being waved, beckoned, flown, or bused across the border and are then matched up with family members just in time for amnesty.

Never mind the threat to 300 million people. If Thomas Eric Duncan somehow manages to survive, which looks iffy right now, despite his bringing Ebola into the U.S., Barack Obama has promised the Liberian refugee that ‘No Force On Earth’ will stop him from becoming an American citizen.

Obama Defiles Reagan Stagecraft

C41247-10

Originally posted at American Thinker

In 2011 in Time Magazine, while President Obama’s job approval was dropping like a rock, Ronald Reagan’s daughter and faithful Obama supporter Patti Davis wrote an article entitled “Perception and Reality: What Obama Really Needs Right Now.”

Davis addressed Barack Obama’s poor public image and did so by pointing out that Mike Deaver, White House Chief of Staff under President Reagan, helped shape America’spositive impression of her father by crafting patriotic theatre that enhanced the public’s perception of the former president.

Romesh Ratnesar, author of the book Tear Down This Wall, agreed with the premise that Mike Deaver’s “true talent was stagecraft,” and that he was the “most powerful force in the molding of President Reagan’s public image.”

In her “perception and reality” article it was easy for Davis to stir up memories of the “windy promontory called Pointe du Hoc and the soft light over the English Channel as [her] father honored the 40th anniversary of D-Day,” and resurrect images of Reagan at the Brandenburg Gate challenging, “Mr. Gorbachev, tear down this wall.”

Two decades later, the current president’s idea of a Brandenburg Gate moment is to have a group of mind-numbed acolytes clap uncontrollably when he announces that he’ll be punishing the rich for being successful.

Despite the potential for a public relations disaster, Barack Obama even golfed during an oil disaster and vacationed with the “family at exactly the same time that Japan was suffering through a nuclear disaster, Libya had been bombed, and there was a threat of a government shutdown.” Also seared into America’s mind’s eye are images of Barack Obama body surfing in Hawaii as the nation teetered dangerously close to the edge of the fiscal cliff. Then, after very public, very heated negotiations concerning the ominous economic future of the country, Obama brazenly spent $7 million just flying back and forth to Hawaii for vacation.

Over the last four years Barack Obama has shown that indeed he is a theatrical phenom, proving Patti Davis’s impression to be far afield. After all, what other president consistently dispatched a message of defiance to his detractors, smiled while giving the middle finger to his critics, and did it all while further enamoring his sycophants? That’s a level of proficiency even Reagan lacked.

The difference between Reagan and Obama is that instead of doing what the Gipper did, which was to impart a measure of his own patriotic optimism to the country, Obama openly exposes his resentment by dragging around the disgruntled and downtrodden as props to help convey a message that divides rather than unifies the nation.

Case in point — recently, White House pool boy/press secretary Jay Carney announced that Obama would be unveiling a “concrete package” sure to give the U.S. Constitution the Jimmy Hoffa treatment.

The $500 million gun violence ‘package’ included 23 executive actions addressing “gun control proposals including assault weapons bans, high capacity ammunition magazine bans, and closing loopholes on background checks.” In other words, the same guy who claims he can’t find millions of illegal aliens has miraculously found a way to track down and register 300 million guns.

In pseudo-Reaganesque mode, the president’s anti-Second Amendment effort was made public while armed Secret Service agents stood in the wings ensuring his personal safety. In place of a huge American flag billowing in the breeze, a stalwart Vice President Joe Biden, overseer of Obama’s commission on gun violence, was also in attendance to provide moron — oops — moral support.

To set the tone, the absolutely shameless Barack Obama misused small “children from around the country” who, after the Newtown shootings, supposedly wrote to him expressing concerns about “gun violence and school safety.” Accompanying the kids were their clueless parents, all of whom most assuredly supported Obama in 2012.

The only thing missing from the anti-gun violence show were a few of the kids openly weeping in the background as Obama stressed the nation’s moral duty to spare the little ones from fear and harm.

Weeping or not, President Obama lost all credibility when he decided to use children as props. Again, despite the melodrama, this man does not care one iota about child safety. Barack Obama believes in partial birth abortion and gladly provides unlimited government funding to terminate as many unborn children as Planned Parenthood can possibly snuff out.

Yet, while unveiling his executive actions the president said, “This is our first task as a society, keeping our children safe. This is how we will be judged.” If NARAL darling Barack Obama were to be judged honestly on his child safety record, then living, breathing youngsters would not have graced the White House ceremony.

That is why, when it comes to utilizing the power of acting, clearly, Ronald Reagan’s daughter Patti Davis misjudged Time Magazine’s Person of the Year’s ability to compete with her father. Hence, Obama’s well thought-out attempt to fortify his gun control argument by having young children flock around a man who would have unblinkingly aborted them is just another attempt to woo America into viewing him as something he is not.

Even so, Obama seems unfazed by the paradox he projects. After all, why should he be? Despite his horrendous first term, lethal tendencies, and blatant Constitutional breaches, he managed to manipulate the public into granting him another four years. Therefore, transparent theatrics being used as a substitute for conviction and character is an apropos reward for an electorate who’ve willingly forfeited truth for Obama-orchestrated displays of propaganda.

And so, surrounded by giggling children, as Barack Obama censured Congress and with a pen as his weapon of choice aborted the Second Amendment, the image he successfully conveyed was that nothing and no one can prevent him from “fundamentally transforming the United States of America” into a vision Ronald Reagan would have demanded he tear down.

Obama’s Inner Circle and the ‘War on Women’

OB8248707540_381d294d01_oOriginally posted at American Thinker blog

The White House releases tons of pictures of Obama family dog Bo; pictures of Michelle Obama gardening and hula-hooping; there are even photos of President Obama teaching the Resolute Desk how to do double duty as an ottoman. What there aren’t a lot of photographs of are America’s top general in the “war on women,” Barack Obama, and his underrepresented high-ranking female advisers.  Why?  Because besides the president’s Senior Advisor and admitted ‘main man’ Valerie Jarrett, there simply aren’t very many women around.

So what does this say about Barack Obama and the left’s contrived “war on women?”  Well, given the fact that high-level women are a scarcity at the White House and Obama pays his female staffers about 18% less than his male staffers, the definition of the “war on women” obviously has nothing to do with political or economic equal rights.  Instead, if Sandra Fluke and her Polycystic Ovary Syndrome sisters are the chosen poster girls for female oppression, then apparently outfitting women for carefree sex is how liberals plan to win the gender conflict.

After all, didn’t Democrats haul Sandra Fluke out in front of the House Democratic Steering and Policy Committee on women’s health and contraception to expound upon American women’s need for free birth control? That right there should have insulted liberated ladies who for years have tried to separate sex from significance.  But then again, if Obama consistently pays his female staffers $11K less than the males, it’s understandable that the president might feel that working women could be a little pressed for cash to purchase the necessary protection for after-work dalliances.

Georgetown University Law School graduate Sandra Fluke became a media star when Rush Limbaugh connected the dots for America.  Rush merely pointed out that demanding health insurance provide free birth control in order to facilitate consequence-free sex presents an opportunity for women to employ government entitlements as a means to earn extra cash.

The left was apoplectic that Limbaugh dared to suggest that Sandra Fluke may actually be what she herself had intimated she might be – so much so that the President took the time to call Sandy F. to “express his disappointment that she has been the subject of inappropriate personal attacks.”  As a parent, Obama mentioned that Sandra’s parents, Richard and Betty should be proud of their daughter’s willingness to “exercise her rights as a citizen to speak out on an issue of public policy.”

Let’s remember that when casually discussing birth control, abortion, and his own twisted sense of morality, it was the president who mentioned that Sasha and Malia should not be “punished” with a baby.  That bizarre comment coming from a father of two young girls indicates that career choices and potential income are not the first and foremost opportunities Obama anticipates will face his daughters.

Nevertheless, it was during Obama’s reelection campaign that Ms. Fluke’s dog-and-filly show took to the road.  The “democrat darling” traveled the nation representing victimized womenfolk and portrayed Republicans as Neanderthals trying to deprive the fairer sex of the necessary accoutrements for a healthy sex life. But the accolades didn’t stop there; Sandra also earned a slot as a featured speaker at the Democratic National Convention and TIME Magazine even considered Her Flukeness for Person of the Year.

Meanwhile, as Sandra was busily helping secure Obama’s reelection with the hyper-dependent Julias of the world, female employees working on Obama’s reelection campaign were earning an “average of $6,872…compared with an average of $7,235 for male employees. That is a difference of $363, or 5.3 percent.”

Then, recently, a White House Flicker photo was released of a meeting of Barack Obama’s top advisers.  The picture was void of even one female representative, so either the president’s top-level ladies were busy using those free contraceptives, or women are not welcome in the president’s innermost circle.

Couple the missing female Obama advisers with the president’s female staffers and campaign employees being paid considerably less than males and there’s a clear indication that the liberal “war on women” fiction involves something besides addressing traditional feminist issues.

Therefore, based on the lack of female representation and continued salary inequity in the Obama administration, as well as the emphasis in the “war on women” being on the “right” to a paternalistic birth control entitlement, it appears liberals believe women are reliant on men to protect their right to be ready for sex at a moment’s notice. It also explains why, on behalf of American women, liberal men like Barack Obama will keep fighting the good fight against conservatives who continue to insist that honoring a woman isn’t about equipping her for worry-free sex at taxpayer expense.

The Worldwide ‘War on Women’

Originally posted at American Thinker

American women have now been esteemed to such a level that for taking a stand against religious liberty and becoming the nation’s contraceptive cover girl, Sandra Fluke is actually being considered as TIME magazine’s Person of the Year.

Women who commiserate with Sandra likely view themselves as also suffering the hammers of hell here in the misogynist war zone called America.  After all, American women have withstood the abuse and pain of living thus far without the benefit of free contraceptives.  Now, however, equipped with newfound fame and with the re-election of Barack Obama signifying a battle won, maybe Ms. Fluke can now branch out and become an international spokesperson on how women around the world can stand strong in the face of male-imposed tyranny.

Who better than Sandra to represent injustices such as a 15-year-old girl being beheaded by a male cousin over a rejected marriage proposal?

Here in America, while girls of Mexican-American descent picked out dresses for a festive quinceañera, in the Imam Sahib district of Kunduz province, 15-year-old Gisa was out gathering water by the river when she was ambushed by close male cousin Sadeq, who proceeded to saw off her head with a knife.

Gisa’s father refused to allow his daughter to marry because of her tender age.  So, instead of a wedding dress and a wedding, the girl’s headless body was returned to her family, wrapped in a sheet and dressed for a funeral.

With that in mind, Sandra Fluke did do a bang-up job on Capitol Hill advancing awareness of the war on women by schooling the Catholic hierarchy on polycystic ovary syndrome.  So why not fly Sandra out to Khanabad to give a similar speech to Afghani men about the discriminatory display of hostility exhibited when one separates the head of a young girl from her body?

After she celebrates the rampant practice of female feticide, Sandra can then turn her attention toward injustices like beheading, stoning, genital mutilation, rape, and splashing acid in the faces of Afghani girls.  Then the war-on-women/endometriosis expert can pack her copy of TIME magazine and a fresh supply of free contraceptives and fly off to Michoacán, Mexico.

After all, it was in Michoacán that former mayor of Tiqicheo Maria Santos Gorrostieta’s half-nude, mutilated body was recently found dumped in a rural field.

Maria stood up to drug cartels over marijuana and heroin in the same way Ms. Fluke stood up to the patriarchal Catholic Church over the right to NuvaRings and FemCaps.  One difference, though — Sandra Fluke became a liberal hero, while Maria was kidnapped, tortured, and then executed.

America has Sandra Fluke working on behalf of free contraceptives for all, and Mexico had Maria Santos Gorrostieta, who died defying a drug-driven turf war.  Unlike America’s gutsy Sandra Fluke, Maria didn’t live long enough to have the opportunity to solicit free birth control in front of Democratic members of the U.S. House of Representatives.  Instead, what this lovely young woman did do was spend her short life working selflessly on behalf of the region’s poor.

Before her death, the mayor had already suffered and survived many gunshot wounds at the hands of drug cartels.  Even Maria’s husband, the town’s former mayor José Sánchez Chávez, was killed in one ambush.  In a subsequent attack, gunmen opened fire again on Santos Gorrostieta, leaving her scarred, maimed, and in need of acolostomy bag.

When Gorrostieta left office, her security detail was withdrawn.  Then, like Gisa’s cousins, the former mayor’s vengeful stalkers lay in wait to seek the retribution that had formerly evaded them.

Eight days after Gorrostieta pleaded that the life of her daughter be spared, farm workers found the woman’s battered corpse on the side of the road.  What happened at the hands of the quasi-religious drug cartel La Familia Michoacana during the previous week, no one knows for sure.  Still, it’s reassuring to know that there’s someone like Sandra Fluke out there, who can, having endured gender oppression at the hands of male clergy at Georgetown University Law Center, empathize with Maria’s pain.

Maria Santos once said, “Despite my own safety and that of my family, what occupies my mind is my responsibility toward my people, the children, the women, the elderly and the men who break their souls every day without rest to find a piece of bread for their children.”

Prior to her throat being slit, little Gisa’s last words were probably a cry for help for someone to save her life.  Sandra Fluke, on the other hand, is celebrated for furthering the fabricated, self-absorbed point that “[Paul] Ryan’s abortion position kills women.”

It is a shame that in some circles, women having to pay for their own birth control or abortion elicits a greater outcry than females being victimized by multiple assassination attempts or decapitation by a close relative.

In the end, for her part in the “war on women” Fluke did get a gig at the DNC Convention and will get her beloved contraceptives for free and, unlike young Gisa and Maria Santos Gorrostieta, will also likely achieve fame on the cover of TIME magazine.

Suffice it to say that while women suffer and die all around the world, in America, liberal “ladies” represented by the likes of political prop Sandra Fluke come across like a bunch of whining ingrates who defame the memory of martyrs like Maria Santos Gorrostieta and innocents like Gisa — two victims of the world’s real war on women.

Republican Revivification – American Thinker – February 19, 2010

A Colombian woman declared dead moved one of her arms just as an undertaker was about to introduce formaldehyde into the femoral artery of her leg.

After suffering a heart attack Noelia Serna was rushed to Cali University Hospital in Bogota Colombia.  Surviving on life support Serna suffered what some thought was a fatal second attack and was then declared officially dead. Transported to a local funeral home Noelia was just about to be embalmed when a funeral home employee noticed the woman moving her right arm.  Mortuary technician Jaime Aullon, put the embalming fluid down and stopped the procedure.

A hospital official said, “On rare occasions, a person’s heart rate and breathing can drop to undetectable levels, leading doctors to erroneously declare a patient dead.”   Juan Mendoza Vega member of the Colombian National Medical Ethics Board said, “It can happen.  But it’s not a matter of coming back to life because the person was never dead.”

As it is in life, so it is in politics.  Just one year ago, the Republican Party was one-step from being lowered in to a six-foot grave and having dirt shoveled onto its face. For the greater part of a year a distressed political party barely survived on life support. In an article entitled, Republicans in Distress: Is the Party Over? Time magazine, hyperventilating with anticipatory excitement, asked the morbid question, “So are the Republicans going extinct? And can the death march be stopped?”

Republicans suffered damage from George W. Bush’s war effort, a lagging economy, a collapsing housing bubble and an unrelenting media’s diligent campaign to remove food and hydration prematurely and disconnect the ventilator from a patient struggling to stay alive.  The initial blow was followed up by the historic election of Barack Obama, which equaled a massive myocardial infarction destroying all the remaining heart muscle necessary to pump the Party’s lifeblood.

Losing the White House, Congress and Senate to Democrat control meant, for all intents and purposes, Republican vital signs were no longer conducive to sustain life. While a weak pulse could still be detected, fifty-eight percent of those polled in an online survey agreed it was time to plan the funeral.

So as Barack Hussein Obama was sworn in with his hand on Lincoln’s tattered Bible, a snide group of political nurse’s aids wrapped Conservativism in a white sheet and lifted the lifeless corpse into a body bag for a trip to the mortuary.

For twelve long months, Barack Obama swaggered around Washington DC destroying the economy, raising the national debt and jeopardizing national security, while a prone Conservatism occupied the back of a political hearse. Barry apologized for America on the world stage, made nice with dictators and ate Wagyu beef after asking Americans to sacrifice for the common good – and did so while the Republican Party was being prepped for embalming on a cold stainless steel table by political ghouls anxious to lay to rest the party of Reagan.

Conservative radio host and one-time Republican John Batchelor declared the Republican Party a corpse. “The GOP is a mummy-wrapped skeleton sitting in its own chilly mausoleum of bilious resentments and creepy sentimentality.”

But a flicker of life remained.

Cal Thomas said in USA Today, “I guess if you were a funeral director… you’d be sizing up the coffin for the demise and ultimate burial of the GOP… like the reported death of Mark Twain, stories of the Republican Party’s expiration and extinction are premature and exaggerated.”

Like Ms. Serna, right before being injected with chemical fluid, something stirred in a Party about to have the lid closed on its decomposing ideology.  Instead, much to the shock and dismay of liberal funeral directors the “right arm” of the Party moved indicating vivacity in what was thought to be beyond revival.

What was dismissed, as a post mortem reflex, now appears to have the makings of full-blown Republican resurgence.  Inexplicably, “when the body was buried and molding, along came the Virginia and New Jersey gubernatorial elections, followed by the Massachusetts Senate miracle. It’s a Republican resurrection, some would say.” New Jersey, Virginia and then Massachusetts, one breath after another, one heart beat after another a political patient destined for a cold crypt slowly gained strength and vigor.

What happened? Who used the defibrillator on a waning party quarantined to the confines of political hospice?  In an Op-ed column entitled, Why the GOP Should Give Obama a Prize, conservative columnist Rich Lowry said, “In nine months, [Barack Obama] has breathed life into the Republican Party, boosted pro-lifers, tarnished the reputation of regulation, bolstered traditional values, increased the public’s desire for immigration restriction and shifted independent voters rightward.”

A snickering left got comfortable anticipating the reading of the will, ready to greedily collect all the proceeds of the political estate, but Republicans resuscitated by Obama’s leftwing, liberal policies spoiled the wake. Not the god Barack Obama devotees fancy him to be, “No, Obama hasn’t turned back the oceans. But revivifying conservatism almost before books announcing its death could be published qualifies as a feat almost as miraculous,” and on par with rolling away the stone and raising Lazarus from the dead.
