Obama embraces illegals with STDs

young-illegals-obama-291f7ce33d769c5bOriginally posted at American Thinker

Sadly, the latest segment in Barack Obama’s national makeover includes granting access to the U.S. to immigrants with venereal diseases.  Unlike the process on New York’s Ellis Island, where early 20th-century immigrants afflicted with benign non-communicable conditions like varicose veins, hernias, and poor vision were denied entry, this president must think humanitarianism is best exhibited by exposing healthy Americans to foreigners with contagious genital lesions.

What’s next – based on their skill set on the open sea, Obama unilaterally invites Somali pirates to be the official captains of America’s tugboats?

In 2009, the president pulled HIV from the list of diseases that bar immigrants from coming to the U.S.  Now, according to a report issued by the nonpartisan Center for Immigration Studies, Obama’s Health and Human Services has publicly stated that the cost of handling and treating immigrants with STDs does not impact taxpayers in a significant way.

Moreover, even though, by nature, venereal disease is contagious, the Obama administration has decreed that specific communicable diseases are no longer “of public health significance.”  Unfortunately, that opinion applies only to those who are thankfully not among the victims sexually abused by one of the 2,000 illegals in Texas, who, with or without a sore on their private parts, were deported because of sex crimes.

That “not … in a significant way” guarantee comes from the same government that had a virtual non-response when undocumented workers illegally employed in places like Chipotle passed along pathogens, which, sorry to say, were likely transported into customers’ intestines via Crispy Corn Tacos contaminated with human feces.

So, if having an oozing genital sore does not prohibit a person entry into the U.S., how is the Obama administration going to ensure that immigrants, who tend to gravitate toward food service, diligently follow proper hygiene protocol after manhandling their genitalia?

They’re not.

Law 360, a website tool for those in the legal profession, reported that under the new immigration rule, despite being infected with a sexually transmitted disease, persons will still be granted entry into the U.S. with things like granuloma inguinale, which is spread through vaginal and anal intercourse; chancroid, which produces a contagious fluid; and bloody/pus-forming lymphogranuloma venereum, a bacterium common in Central and South America.

HHS maintains that although these three bacterial infections are “transmitted through sexual contact, [they] have never been common in the United States and over the past two decades are observed to be increasingly rare throughout the world.”

That said, it appears as if importing individuals afflicted with abscesses on their genitals may just be HHS’s way of assisting Obama’s ongoing effort to level the playing field.  And if that’s the case, pioneering STD sufferers with a mind to relocate will have easy access into a country where, with the government’s help, they are free to pursue a vigorous sex life.  Then, after those who are currently uncontaminated become contaminated, Barack can pat himself on the back for making another thing that’s “never been common in the United States” common.

In any case, similar health- and wealth-sharing processes have already been underway for almost eight years.  By admitting what was once inadmissible, Barack Obama’s effort to turn America into a third-world hellhole has thus far been quite effective.  For example, syphilis, gonorrhea, tuberculosis, and leprosy are still on America’s list of inadmissible communicable diseases.  Nonetheless, along with the unmonitored influx of illegals came syphilis and gonorrhea, both of which are currently on the rise.  As for leprosy, that nasty organism has officially landed, as have plagues like the deadly multi-drug-resistant  tuberculosis (MDR-TB) and death-defying super-lice.  Maybe the president’s rationale is that in the ongoing quest to dilute what little is left of American culture, citizens contracting exotic third-world diseases, or being infected with an STD from a hardworking immigrant, is a tolerable tradeoff.

In an article entitled “Obama Opens the Border to More STDs,” Jon Feere of The Center for Immigration Studies said that the administration considers the STD rule changes beneficial because physicians who would otherwise be administering physical exams on incoming immigrants “will be able to devote more time and training to other, more common and/or more serious health issues.”

That’s brilliant!  If HHS is to be taken seriously, STDs are being permitted to arrive aboard the genitals of immigrants to further the common good.  In other words, rather than wasting time running a whole battery of tests on pilgrims with penile pustules, stressed out Obamacare doctors will be freed up to focus on more severe health issues.

And just because the immigration system will be less likely to protect Americans from communicable diseases, Jon Feere writes that when it comes to STDs, Americans are “not to worry” because:

HHS … explains that these ‘primarily tropical infections can be prevented through improved personal hygiene and protected sex’ and that if you do get them, the STDs can be cured ‘with a short, uncomplicated course of antibiotic therapy.’

Wait!  Can Cipro also cure beheading?  Because that sounds reminiscent of the reasoning behind accepting Syrian refugees with the full knowledge that the incoming group will likely be infected with a smattering of saber-bearing subversives.

Either way, notwithstanding the inevitability that ISIS will probably lop off a few heads, when did providing antibiotics and hand-washing seminars to sexually promiscuous immigrants become America’s priority?  Furthermore, aren’t our veterans dying on VA waiting lists, and isn’t there an impending antibiotic shortage?

Even still, Barack Obama, who knows better, obviously feels that spending $100 million a year to care for immigrants with STDs is a great way to invest the money of those who will ultimately end up suffering as a result of yet another in a long list of imprudent policies.

And so, on the path to “fundamental transformation,” it’s nice to know that if an immigrant with a seething chancroid ulcer should happen to rape an American, the ill-fated event can be promptly remedied by an “uncomplicated course of antibiotic therapy.”

Was El Chapo among the beneficiaries of Obama’s Fast & Furious?

mg_chapo_guns_compOriginally posted at American Thinker

Earlier this month, after eluding police since last summer, in Los Mochis, Mexico, drug lord Joaquín “El Chapo” Guzmán was finally apprehended.  During a raid of the hideout where the world’s most notorious drug lord hid for six months, authorities found a .50 caliber high-powered rifle with a serial number that traced back to none other than Barack Obama, the U.S. Justice Department, and an ATF overseen by former attorney general Eric Holder’s “Fast and Furious” gun-walking operation.

Sorry to have to be the bearer of bad news, but the guy responsible for El Chapo being in possession of such a dangerous weapon is the same person currently demonizing the NRA and looking for ways to frustrate the Second Amendment right of law-abiding Americans to keep and bear arms.

Dubbed “Fast and Furious,” the failed sting operation Obama kept going, which started as “Operation Wide Receiver” in 2006 and was abandoned by Bush, involved federal agents allowing licensed firearms dealers in Phoenix-area shops to sell weapons to illegal straw buyers, hoping that after they were sold, authorities could track the arms to Mexican drug cartel leaders like El Chapo and arrest them.

Instead, the ATF lost track of most of what was sold.

The irony is that under the guise of wanting to track guns to Mexico, America’s anti-gun evangelist put 2,000 weapons in the hands of criminal drug cartels.  In turn, rather than the president’s original goal being accomplished, violent chaos ensued when munitions were made available to some very bad people.

In 2010, after Obama’s guns hit the streets of Mexico, U.S. Border Patrol agent Brian Terry was murdered with a “Fast and Furious” weapon.  The following year, ICE Agent Jaime Zapata also fell victim.

Five years later, Nadir Hamid Soofi, one of two armed terrorists, the other being Elton Simpson, showed up at a Garland, Texas Mohammed cartoon contest to avenge Allah’s honor with a  “Fast and Furious” gun.  Thankfully, an armed traffic cop killed the two ISIS sympathizers, both of whom arrived at the event wearing body armor, before they could kill any infidels.

Judging from the events in Garland, Texas, and the fact that thousands of intruders have successfully crossed the border illegally, surely more than a single “Fast and Furious” gun has been smuggled from Mexico back into the U.S.

And while purely conjecture, one can’t help but wonder whether the “stolen federal agent’s gun” Juan Francisco López-Sánchez allegedly used to kill Kate Steinle in the sanctuary city of San Francisco might also have a serial number the president would rather keep secret.

Let’s face it: the chance that a 5x-deported illegal felon could happen upon a federal agent’s stolen .40 caliber handgun, under a bench, wrapped in a T-shirt, is a whole lot less credible than an illegal border-jumper managing to procure a “Fast and Furious” special on one of his round trips.

But that’s not all.  Thanks to “Fast and Furious” and a president convinced that law and order are somehow accomplished by treating villains as more trustworthy than the law-abiding, the Mexican people have also suffered greatly.

For example, in 2010, 14 teenagers near Ciudad Juárez were murdered at a party, shot by La Línea assassins, who came armed to the festivities with Obama-provided guns.  There’s also Mexican lawyer Mario González Rodríguez.  In 2011, before being murdered with a gun walked over the border and dumped in a shallow grave, Rodríguez was tortured for weeks by members of El Chapo’s Sinaloa cartel.

Beauty queen Maria Susana Flores Gamez was also a victim.  Ms. Gamez was used as a human shield during a shootout between cops and drug-runners.  The gun found lying next to her corpse belonged to the latter group and was gifted compliments of Eric Holder and Barack Obama, both of whom, to this day, accept zero responsibility for all the bloodshed.

Now it’s 2016, and Americans find out that after five of El Chapo’s men were killed in a raid where Guzmán was finally captured, serial numbers on high-powered weapons with Barack Obama’s fingerprints all over them were found inside the hideout.

So it appears as if the president on a mission to educate the illiterate on gun safety also provided the most notorious and deadly drug lord on the planet with a rifle capable of stopping a car or taking out a helicopter.

Worse than that, when not working hard to restrict the sale of firearms, Obama, the one who lost track of 1,400, or 70%, of the 2,000 guns he purposely allowed to be walked across the border into Mexico, is reassuring Americans that he can properly vet the 250,000 ISIS-infiltrated refugees he plans on walking into this country.

Obama’s Christmas ‘Gift’ For America — It’s Coming Straight From Central America

After an irregular entry into Mexico near Ciudad Hidalgo, to move north through the country, to the US border, many Central and South American migrants begin their journey in Arriaga, Chiapas, Mexico, the railhead of the freight train known as 'La Bestia' (The Beast), climbing atop of the rail cars, exposed to the elements and extortion by criminal gangs lying in wait along the route. In Ellis County, Texas, not to be confused with Ellis Island, New York, the U.S. Federal government is busy imposing on the residents 300 – 700 “unaccompanied minors” from Central America.

The mostly male newcomers, between the ages of 12- and 18- years old, are being housed in the Lakeview Camp and Conference Centers in Rockwall and Maypearl, Texas. Currently, both campsites are accepting tenants and are in the process of being transformed into “miniature cities” outfitted to accommodate the influx of unlawful sojourners.

It was during a conference call with the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services that officials like Judge Carol Bush first learned that the minors were headed to the Lone Star state. According to the judge, officials were told by the feds that a large number of “unaccompanied minors” from Central America were slated to be resettled in Ellis County for 21-days.

For those who worry about things like Latin America-imported Enterovirus D-68, which recently killed 12 American children, disease will not be a problem. Prior to being relocated, HHS took it upon themselves to vaccinate the hordes arriving from sunny Third World locations such as: El SalvadorGuatemalaHonduras, and Nicaragua.

The freshly inoculated youth will be shuttled from a border holding facility to a Texas Christmas holiday site where the newly arrived revelers will spend time partying on the taxpayer’s dime.

That’s right, while American veterans die on VA hospital waiting lists and huddle homeless and unemployed in the street, “unaccompanied minors” will be swimming in an indoor pool, playing soccer, enjoying arts and crafts, and by learning to speak English, preparing to flood the U.S. job market to do “jobs Americans would love to be doing.”

In fact, the menfolk even have a Dallas attorney named Domingo Garcia who is in the process of organizing a legal team to represent the future Democrat voters.

Garcia said his goal is to “Make sure their legal rights are protected, that they’re in a comfortable place, and even though they are separated from their families that they have a Christmas that teaches them what American values are like.”

When Mr. Garcia says “American values,” does he mean values such as respect for the borders of a sovereign nation? And since when do illegals have legal rights?

Maybe this attorney just means that, in his opinion, and the opinion of the Obama administration, America’s laws are fundamentally biased, worthy of being disregarded, and that those who break, oh, let’s say, immigration law deserve to be compensated with an all expense paid holiday in a resort-like facility complete with an indoor pool?

And if legality is no longer an American value, then when Garcia says “legal rights,” does he mean that illegals have a legal right to be comfortable after breaking into America?

Not only that, what’s also odd is that Garcia suggested illegals be allowed to commemorate a politically incorrect holiday like “Christmas.” Or could it be that cultural diversity exempts illegals from having to exclude “Christ” from a holiday that’s been largely secularized for regular American citizens?

Either way, culturally-Catholic/Central American-themed Christmas or not, the legal counsel for the illegal “unaccompanied minors” still worries that if the 12- 18-year-olds are eventually sent home, they will be “Subject to the predators, the gang members, the criminals that [may be] waiting for them.”

What Garcia did not mention was whether or not he’s also concerned about Texas residents living in the vicinity of the campground being endangered by prospective “predators, gang members, and criminals.”

Has Garcia even considered the possibility that along with 12-year-old Guillermo and his brother 17-year-old Juan an unaccompanied Cub of the Caliphate or two could have also strolled along side them all the way into Texas?

Furthermore, let’s be frank, it is highly unlikely that a federal government that couldn’t vet one ISIS-terrorist named Tashfeen Malik took the time to properly vet 300- 700 Central American campers.

The U.S. federal government failed to investigate a blushing bride who, after posting her affection for ISIS on social media, gained access into the U.S. on a K-1 visa. Then, after giving birth 6 months ago in an American hospital, that same Jihadi bride went on to slaughter 14 innocent people in San Bernardino, California.

And we’re supposed to believe the same government that sends checks to dead people and had difficulty tracing Hillary Clinton’s email server is going to carefully screen a thousand teenaged boys?

Therefore, in light of the government’s proven inability to screen newcomers adequately, and Garcia’s obvious naivety as to whom he might be representing in court, Texans who live in close proximity to the Central American Campground are uneasy – and rightly so.

Those who in live the vicinity, as well as responsible public officials, are apprehensive about the issues that can arise when 700 testosterone-infused/culturally challenged juvenile boys, deprived of parental oversight, are deposited into the heart of Texas.

Not to mention that the merrymakers are being lodged on the grounds of a campground that is largely unsecured.

Whatever ends up happening, and irrespective of who these teenagers are, what they have done in the past, or plan to do in the future, or who may have infiltrated their ranks – one thing is certain — Domingo Garcia can rest easy because DHS isn’t sending anyone back to Central America.

Quite the contrary, thousands more Central American campers, with a few ISIS stragglers likely mixed in, are being waved north. And if things go according to Barack Obama’s “fundamentally transformative” plan, multitudes more should arrive in Texas in time to spend Christmas bathing in an indoor pool.

‘Deceased fetus’ left in high school bathroom

Last week, students at Woodrow Wilson High School in Dallas, Texas alerted a school janitor that there was a “deceased human fetus” in a stall in a second floor school restroom.

Dallas authorities are now reviewing surveillance camera footage to try to locate the woman who gave birth inside that stall and then left the baby behind. Finding the infant’s mother amongst 1,600 students at Woodrow Wilson High School may be a difficult undertaking.

According to reports, on the day the “deceased fetus” was found:

Staffers were called to an upstairs bathroom around 2:30 p.m. Friday. It was there that a deceased fetus had been discovered inside a bathroom stall. According to teens at the school, it was a student who alerted a worker.

“I think that there was somebody that had notified a custodian of a situation in a restroom,” explained Dallas Independent School District spokesperson Jon Dahlander. “The custodian went and then made the discovery.”

The bathroom where the lifeless baby was found is being treated as a crime scene and Dallas Police Major John Lawton told reporters that the video is being reviewed, teachers are being talked to, and that they are looking for anyone who “has any knowledge of any student that may have had something going on in their life.”

In other words, in hopes of finding the child’s mother, students are being asked whether they are aware of any student who might have been pregnant. What is unclear from the reports is whether the child was stillborn, or died after he or she was abandoned in the restroom stall.

Sadly, a baby being found dead in a high school bathroom stall is just another example of the blatant disregard for human life that is currently endemic to our throwaway society.

Regardless of the circumstances, the fact that a mother, who is now being called a ‘suspect,’ would deliver and then abandon her lifeless newborn child in a cold, germ-infested toilet defies explanation.

Even if the mother did have “something going on in [her] life,” or the babe was stillborn, to discard a human being in this way is indicative of the indifference to human life that has been instilled among those whose personal lives are now more important than the lives of their innocent offspring.

‘Don’t Stop Mommy from Killing My Little Brother!’

The left is shameless and will use children to advance their agenda without scruples.

In Texas, in front of the State Capitol, pro-abortion advocates used children to hold up signs with wire hangers on them that said: “No to SB5.”

SB5 is the controversial abortion law that seeks to restrict the killing of the unborn from the 20th week of pregnancy forward. The bill stresses that unborn babies experience excruciating pain during abortions and that human rights should prevent that sort of torture from taking place.

The problem is: Liberals don’t care who suffers as long as their hellish agenda moves forward.

That’s why, exploiting children as props remains a liberal favorite.  However,  dragging out toddlers that liberals would just have gladly relegated to the incinerator heap three years prior to hold up signs against legislation that saves small children’s lives is, at best, ludicrous.

Moreover, for any human being with half a brain, seeing a youngster holding up pro-abortion sign visually undermines the purpose of pushing for unfettered access to feticide that borders on infanticide. Proving once again that in the intellect department, liberals exercised the right to choose when checking their brains at the door.

The sign displayed by the two tiny girls in pink sandals and sunhats says: “No to SB5.”

However, what it really was saying is: “Don’t Stop Mommy from Killing My Little Brother!”

In TX school district, say ‘Amen’ and go to jail

UPDATE: Overturned!

Clinton appointee Chief U.S. District Judge Fred Biery lowered the gavel on Medina Valley Independent School District in Texas, prohibiting traditional prayer at graduation.  Judge Biery’s order is so strict students are forbidden to use words like “prayer” and “amen.”

Agnostic parents Christa and Danny Schultz filed a lawsuit because they were worried that if their son Corwin were to be exposed to prayer at graduation the lad would “suffer irreparable harm.” Therefore, in the interest of shielding the youth from exposure to permanent injury, Judge Biery declared the graduation a prayer-free zone.

Ayesa Khan, the attorney representing the Schultz family, “was delighted in the judge’s decision.”  According to Ms. Khan, concern over exposure to religious prayer caused her client “a great deal of anxiety.”  So much so that young Schultz had previously “gone to meet with the principal to try and talk in a civilized way about long-standing problems.” Khan said Corwin claimed the “school district … continued to thumb its nose,” which implies that school administrators allowed students to publicly express their faith and use disquieting words like “prayer” and “amen.”

According to Texas Attorney General Greg Abbott, Biery “left the door open for individual expression of religious belief” by granting immunity for wearing religious garb, kneeling toward Mecca, and making the sign of the cross. Despite the limited dispensation, the district still seeks an emergency ruling to overturn the judge’s prayer-restrictive edict in time for graduation.

The attorney general believes that “Part of this [ruling] goes to the very heart of the unraveling of moral values in this country,” saying the judge “wanted to turn school administrators into ‘speech police.’” Abbott said he’s “never seen such a restriction on speech issued by a court or the government,” and maintains that the ruling “seems like a trampling of the First Amendment rather than protecting the First Amendment.”

Apparently, “trampling” the Constitution is justified if it spares an agnostic from anguish.

Much to Schultz’s relief, in addition to offensive words like “prayer” and the always stress-producing “amen,” the speakers at the commencement ceremony are also restricted from uttering banned phrases such as “join in prayer,” or asking guests to do the unthinkable and “bow their heads.”

In fact, if the ruling stands, it may be in the graduates’ best interest to leave iPods loaded with songs like Kid Rock’s “Amen” and “I Say a Little Prayer for You” home for the day.

Speakers are also prohibited from committing the ultimate offense, which is uttering the words: “in [a deity’s name] we pray.” Since everyone knows the deity who customarily fits between the brackets, there’s no need to risk arrest by mentioning His name here.

To further protect Schultz’s anti-religious sensibilities, Biery ordered the school district to “revamp the graduation program” and replace words like “invocation” and “benediction” with less-objectionable written terms.

In any case, this is serious business, because if the ruling isn’t overturned and if someone dares violate the order, school officials face legal trouble. Judge Biery hopes to spare Corwin Schultz angst by ordering the ruling be “enforced by incarceration or other sanctions for contempt of Court if not obeyed by District official (sic) and their agents.”

Stunned that “one kid can come in and change what’s been a tradition since Medina Valley started,” student Abigail Russell lamented that “at graduation, [she] would love to be able to speak from [her] heart.” That’s a commendable sentiment, but if things go Corwin’s way, Ms. Russell will have to come up with an innocuous secular speech, or possibly wear her mortarboard to jail.

Dodging Bullets in El Paso

Originally post at American Thinker blog

In the ghost town of Fort Quitman, 80 miles southeast of El Paso, four US road workers were up at dawn attending to “shovel ready”  jobs by filling potholes with gravel.   Unfortunately, “at least one Mexican gunman,” who probably just wanted a chance to do jobs Americans won’t do, “fired a high-powered rifle across the border,” barely missing the workers.

“The bullets struck private land …about half a mile from the border fence.” Thankfully, the quartet escaped unharmed.  “Mike Doyle, Chief Deputy of the Hudspeth County Sheriff’s Office, said after the fact, a rancher spotted a white pickup fleeing the area on the Mexican side at 10:30 a.m. — the time the shots were fired.”

According to Doyle, “Drug cartels use this busy smuggling corridor in between the Quitman Mountains and mountains in the northwestern part of Chihuahua State to traffic marijuana and sometimes cocaine.”  The chief deputy explained the incident by saying: “The gunman might have shot at the road workers to distract them or get them to flee.”

So in other words, criminal interlopers tried to get American workers to disperse from territory where they had every right to work and exist in order to “get them outside [the] area?”

Francisco “Quico” Canseco, R-Texas said: “It is completely unacceptable that Americans at work, doing their job in America, come under gunfire from across the border in Mexico. Our border is not secure from violence that threatens American lives. Securing our border against the cartels and their violent threat must be a top priority.”

After the shooting, two Texas Rangers and Hudspeth County Sheriff Arvin West and Chief Deputy Doyle were at the scene looking for the bullets with a metal detector, which when weighed against the alternatives is preferable to a medical examiner digging bullets out of heads.

“The U.S. government built narrowly spaced steel poles north of the Rio Grande to fence the border in that West Texas area. The slots are not wide enough for people to cross, but small objects can fit between the 15-foot-tall poles.” Thus, the lone gunman must have been dedicated to scattering the workers because nothing deterred his squeezing the gun barrel through or shooting off the bullets.

This particular shot across the border initiated Hudspeth County into an elite group. “In El Paso, stray bullets from a drug-related gunfight hit City Hall in June. Another stray bullet struck a University of Texas at El Paso building in August.”  And to date, newlywed David Hartley’s body has yet to be recovered after being shot by Mexican gunmen on Falcon Lake, a border area near Laredo, Texas.

After the bullets missed the US four workers, the men were escorted away from the scene, which successfully accomplished the original intent of the shooter:  Disperse the crowd and clear the area so as to drive unhindered right on through to Texas. Moreover, and much to the relief of the high-powered rifleman, Border Patrol spokesman Bill Brooks assured drug- and gun-runners, as well as marauding banditos with high-powered rifles, that Border Patrol does not plan to deploy additional agents to the area. Brooks vowed: “There is no beefing up in any way.”

Governor Rick Perry’s spokeswoman, Katherine Cesinger, said that “If these reports are true, it is yet another incident of border violence and spillover. It goes back to the need for the federal government to provide more resources to the border, which is certainly feeling the effects of the escalating violence in Mexico.”

Nevertheless, not all is lost.  Texas could follow Arizona, a state that recently chose to address violent behavior by distributing “Together we Thrive” tee shirts.

No one wants to see a person shot and killed let alone a 15-year-old child.  However, Sergio Adrian Hernandez Huereka, would not be prematurely occupying a gray, metal casket if he hadn’t tried to cross the border from Mexico into the U.S. and wasn’t part and party to throwing boulders at border patrol officers near El Paso, Texas.

Huereka was allegedly attempting to enter the United States with a group of rowdy youths when U.S. officers, riding bicycles, “were assaulted with rocks.”   Under attack, “at least one agent discharged his firearm,” hitting Sergio in the head and killing the boy.

The shooting took place “beneath a railroad bridge linking Mexico with the United States.”  Subsequent to the shooting, a large banner was unfurled from the overpass reading, “U.S. Border Patrol we worry about the violence in Mex [sic] and murders and now you. Viva Mexico!”

In a two-room adobe in Juarez, the dead teenager’s sister cried “Damn them! Damn them!” Rather than condemn the obvious danger of illegal activity, Huereka’s family cursed the agents for protecting themselves from being “assaulted with rocks” and buried alive under “a barrage of big stones.”

In response to the boy’s death the family called for “justice.”  Sergio’s father, Jesus Hernandez said “They killed my little boy and the only thing I ask is for the law to be applied.” Law, what law?

A few weeks ago, another illegal immigrant died from a stun gun shock at the San Ysidro border between San Diego and Tijuana. Instead of encouraging Mexican citizens to abide by U.S. immigration law, Mexican President Felipe Calderon indignantly responded by pledging his government will “use all resources available to protect the rights of Mexican migrants.”

Sergio Adrian Hernandez was eulogized as a soccer playing, junior high graduate with high grades and exceptional behavior.  The deceased boy’s sister claimed Hernandez- Huereka was shot after visiting with his older brother who works at the border customs office. Afterwards, Sergio supposedly met up with friends and hung out by the river.  His grieving family said, “That was his mistake, to have gone to the river that is why they killed him.”

It is hard to believe border patrol agents were mistakenly caught in the middle of boyish frivolity in the form of pelting police officers with boulders.  Agents instructed the rock throwers to cease and “back off,” but the cascade persisted.  According to T.J. Bonner, president of the union representing Border Patrol agents, assaulting a border agent with stones is considered “a deadly force encounter, one that justifies the use of deadly force.”

Via Felipe Calderon, the Mexican government “reiterated its rejection of the disproportionate use of force on the part of U.S. authorities.” Mexico’s president forgot to mention the disproportionate number of migrants, crossing over illegally into the United States and how those actions impact the lives and sovereign rights of the American people.

According to Mexico’s Foreign Relations Department, in 2008 five Mexicans were killed or wounded by immigration authorities.  In 2009 that number rose to 12 and climbed all the way to 17 in 2010.  The fact that 850,000 illegal immigrants, including drug traffickers, gun runners and violent criminals, sneak across the border into the United States every year means only 0.002% have been physically harmed by law enforcement officials.

Based on statistics that point toward Border Patrol’s tendency to under react, it’s hard to believe border agents shot Sergio Adrian Hernandez Huereka because he was playfully kicking pebbles around in a border riverbed after sharing lunch with some friends.

UPDATE: Boy shot on the border had numerous smuggling arrests.
