The Urgency Emergency

pixelscared

Last November, large masses of people impetuously rushed to the polls, without thought and devoid of proper consideration as to the long term effect of what they were doing. They were compelled, forced and impelled by the cult of personality, mainstream media pressure and the desire to be part of “change” dynamics gone awry. They were victims of an “urgency emergency”. When asked why he was in such a hurry to run, Obama told Steve Kroft of 60 Minutes in February of 2007 that, “… we have a narrow window to solve some of the problems that we face…and so I feel a sense of urgency for the country” (60 Minutes, Candidate Obama’s Sense of Urgency, Daniel Schorn, Feb 11/11). So the candidate, whose urging got him elected in the first place, is again pressing a forceful argument to push a leftist agenda while governing.

Just a few short weeks into the new hope and change Administration, many of those electorally exhorted Americans are bit-by-bit becoming aware that the persona they put in office could very well be fundamentally unprepared. How did this happen? Could it be because the general public was uninformed and did not have enough background information to make an educated, intelligent choice? The urgency frequency was turned up to such a high decibel that it drowned out reason. There was history that should have been laid bare that wasn’t, which included…the candidate’s lack of executive and administrative experience, his shady personal connections and questionable political alliances. Yet responding to an imposed urgency to institute liberal leadership the mainstream media failed to provide the necessary details that would have contributed to what might very well have been a quite different election result. They avoided properly vetting the one individual who should have been microscopically analyzed under an ocular lens. By not doing so many important specifics, which could have affected support or lack thereof conveniently, went unexposed. In turn, a new President was ferried into the White House on a wave of urgency coupled together with corporate good will, historic histrionics all buoyed by an ignorant, naïve electorate enthralled with popularity and race-based politics.

Are the American people not paying close enough attention to what is going on again? We are being “opinion herded” hurried urgently to accept a “stimulus” bill on hasty, breathless fright tactics all over again? We are not getting the details of what will be a bill that Americans yet unborn will be responsible for shouldering. We hear the snorting of the pig but can’t get close enough to the sty to scope out its contents.

We just spend eight years being told that we were victims of fear mongering. We lost 3,000 American citizens murdered by fanatical Islamic terrorists, but were told our inherent apprehension was unfounded and fostered by manipulation? Wasn’t the urgency to defend ourselves from fanatical Islam pooh-poohed by the intelligentsia? Weren’t we led to believe that the urgent prospect of a nuclear or biological attack should dispel rather than encourage anxiety? Weren’t we brainwashed to believe that the sight of American citizens being beheaded on national TV was no cause for alarm? A pressing fear reaction was portrayed as out of proportion and a means of a push toward war by those who were supposedly nurturing it. Furrowed eyebrows in the mainstream media, negatively nodded at the Bush Administration’s effort to stress the threat our nation was under and used valid concern for our safety as a means of demonizing an Administration that was striving urgently to do whatever necessary to protect a nation and its populace both here and abroad.

Surprisingly, this same “fear” that was decried when it was used for valid reasons, has become an accepted emotion by a bias liberal press and political party that recently realized urgency might be a viable vehicle for them to usher in their own power in Washington DC. Palpable urgent unease was rampant during the campaign of 2008. We were led to believe that if Barak Obama was not elected all would be lost on every front, for every American. He was our only hope, our only glimmer of prospect for the future. It became a question for many as to how our great nation possibly survived 200 years before Obama came on the scene. Large masses of people were led to accept as true that without Obama every right, we as American’s held dear, was in danger of being lost. Fifty-four percent of the electorate swallowed the propaganda, not thinking that possibility they were accepting what they were encouraged to reject in the past. Even now many seem to be oblivious to the fact that our first and second amendment rights might be in jeopardy just two weeks into an Administration that promised to preserve the rights we all were told we were in urgent danger of losing?

Cyclic economic downturn has now taken residence far above a terrorist attack on the left’s fear-o-meter. The Democrat’s and their panting minions decided “urgent fear” was acceptable and deemed it a tolerable means if it could accomplish a desired political end. That result being the complete conquest of Congress, the Senate, the White House and now the possession of the entire American economy. Fear over that same economy was hammered home for months before the election. As a political ploy, the Democratic candidate, together with his compliant allies in the press, methodically pounded away at the American people successfully unnerving them with both urgency and fear toward a victorious desired end. They won! The same political party that had for eight years decried the “Politics of Fear” were now unabashedly the proprietors of panic, harbingers of horror and the denizens of dread.

This urgency campaign is once again forcing a poorly thought out, impulsive reaction to a crisis as they did with their substandard candidate. Information is scarce, details are lacking and breathless urgency and warnings of disaster are the only fine points we have to make a decision as to whether we accept or reject a spending bill, just as we did a President, whose influence will reach and reverberate for generations.

The economic crisis we find ourselves in is being portrayed as the worst since the depression and has laughably been depicted as irreversible if Obama’s urgent remedy isn’t adopted promptly and without delay. Cyclic economic cycles that change like the tides can and will reverse themselves. Yet the American people were recently shepherded by fear to accept an ill advised 700 billion bailout package based on the urgency of the moment, which did nothing to improve economy. Now they’re being told that sheer calamity awaits us if we don’t all say, “Yes We Can” to an 800+ billion dollar stimulus package that is mostly spending, misappropriated tax rebates and very little stimulus. Strangely, the hope and change Administration is hauling the country headlong in a direction on a stage coach full of irreversible depression and steering it right into a socialist stable. Our esteemed leader is parking us in a stall replete with government control, restrictions, big spending, high taxes and loss of freedoms that American’s haven’t contemplated the ramifications of, because of the frenetic tactics that are being used to foist it upon them.

On November 4th of 2008 our nation responded to a fabricated urgency emergency by electing a short-term “shot with in the arm” of hope and change in the form of a President that has no substance to sustain it. We are now being asked again to accept a similar remedy in the form of the first piece of legislation that is being forced down our throats. This urgency induced bill may produce a short term shot of money into our economy but its policies have nothing of value to sustain it. All this urgency very well might be the impetuous to undermine our nation on a deep abiding level and put us in worse condition than we found ourselves in six-months ago on both the Executive and economic level when we attempted to fix what we thought was so bad by responding to the harbingers of a hype induced urgency emergency.

Obama Took On a Level Five Lifeguard Position with Kiddie Pool Experience

gg-lifeguard-standLet’s just say you are a first season lifeguard who just got their certification, and your maiden assignment is to stand on the side of a kiddie pool for a season…would that experience be enough preparation to do ocean rescue? Would it be wise to fancy yourself a Level 5 Lifeguard and climb up onto the perch the following season at an oceanfront beach? Your sunglasses are in place, you have a perfectly slathered triangle of Noxzema on your nose and you look stunning in your Speedo. However, the ocean is a rough place, the waves are crashing, the undertow is out of control and you have no CPR training. You have no current Standard First Aid and Personal Safety training or even a First Responder Certificate, but you sure can dog paddle!

You’ve made lots of friends who believe in you and energetically encourage you to live your dream. So, feeling good about yourself, totally confident you’re prepared for the job you scale your roost with full, bold confidence, convinced and assured that you’re more than aptly prepared and surely the best man for the job.

Once there, when the people who depend on you for  safety have a crisis and find themselves drowning beneath the crashing waves, what do you do? Toot on your whistle and toss them a blow-up Barney tube? When you realize that you are responsible for powerless people waving to you from the ocean — going under, once, twice, three times, what happens when you realize you don’t know where to find the lifeline ropes and you have no clue where the poles are to attach those ropes to, what are your options?

Time is running out and the helpless are swallowing large quantities of salt water while you are busy running back and forth in the sand looking for the landlines. Do you get gripped with fear yourself when you realize you don’t know how to row a dory or “officially” use a rescue board?

What happens when you realize you’re not a guest star on Baywatch and this is for real, you have to quickly find a way to rescue dying submerged swimmers? What will you say to those, who make it out alive? How will you explain yourself to those who depended on you for protection and believed you belonged in the supercilious position you placed yourself in?

These are all great questions for Barack Obama to contemplate, while  the nation drowns on his watch.  For the rest of us, it high time we answered the obvious question. Wouldn’t it have been better for everyone if Barry did a few more seasons overseeing the wading pool before placing him in the position of head lifeguard?

Proletariats and Parasites

picturegallery02As Obama continues to push his social engineering project two weeks into his administration it is obvious for those who refused to put on, the “O” shaped, magenta colored glasses, to see what is really going on. What we are seeing is disturbing at best. As a master potter slaps the clay on a potter’s wheel, Obama is busy refurbishing a capitalistic culture into a socialist society. Barry is clever enough to try to form a vessel that looks like it did before its renovation, but the intended contents are unmistakably “socialistic” in nature. For most of us “socialism” is an ethereal term that doesn’t have much impact on our day as we’re pushing our shopping cart through Walmart or dropping off our dog to be spayed at the veterinarian. However, with a small amount of focus and clarification it would be easy to decipher the direction our feckless leader is planning on staking out.

An easy way to explain socialism is to clarify the two classes that make up the system, the bourgeoisie and the proletariat. The bourgeoisie is the smaller group that takes control of the means of production. In other words, they control those who produce the goods and services that drive our nation, you know like corporations, banks, car companies, pharmaceutical companies and eventually health care services? Those in control become the ruling or dominant class. This class appropriates for its own use the surplus produced by the rest of society and live in a manner far above the lifestyle of those who do the producing. It is a parasitical relationship where the underclass is the host. It is wise to be reminded that parasites augment their vigor by exploiting hosts for food, habitat and dispersal, which is what bourgeoisie do to the proletariat by exploiting and extracting their power, control and means.

For our purposes, this is the government and the politicians who sit in the seat of power. The government is presently bailing out institutions and establishing itself as the controlling administrator of businesses and corporations and in turn controlling the class of workers that keep those businesses going. Karl Marx stressed that the masses needed to produce the necessities of life before they could do anything else. Without necessities philosophy, politics, art and the like go out the window. He believed that the economic relations of life constitute the base of society and upon that based political, religious, legal, philosophical and artistic systems rest. Based on the panic that has gripped our nation it seems that for American’s fear of losing Itunes and the National Endowment for the Arts is enough to herd them into an economic system that promises the loss of greater freedom and personal individualism.

Presently, our economic system is in a slowdown, a recession. This downturn has transformed into a golden opportunity for those who want to dominate to portray this cyclic event to the public as a disaster of devastating proportion in order to jolt us into submission. In order to accomplish their end the promoters of socialism are using fear to force a capitalist nation to accept a socialistic plan based on warnings that forebode, “… that failure to act on an economic recovery package could plunge the nation into a long-lasting recession that might prove irreversible” (David Espo, AP Special Correspondent, Obama warns of need for stimulus bill right away, Feb 5, 2009). As an unsteady nation grapples for a fixed surface to grab a hold of for stability, they are vulnerable to grasp what appears to be sturdy but is a marble tomb filled with rotting bones…sturdy but fetid. Caution should be used in choosing where to fasten our future and our fortunes.

The need for heightened vigilance is that the largest portion of citizenry affected by Obama’s bent will be who Marx referred to as the proletariat. The proletariat is the portion of society, which is forced to put their labor at the disposal of the possessing group, the bourgeoisie or ruling class. Marx used this term exploitation to refer to the process of surplus extraction. The very people that are looking for stability are the ones who will be mined for production and drained for the infusion of tax revenue to support those who collect and accumulate all surpluses. It is best to be mindful that although parasites weaken their hosts it is in the parasite’s best interest not to totally destroy them because it relies on the host’s body and body functions to live. Harmed but not obliterated, functioning only to provide for a parasitic upper class that quarries the masses for power, provision and supremacy.

This ideology is an attitude that is not only apparent in words but in actions too. The Master Potter continued to spin the clay on the spinning potter’s wheel today at a press conference, wetting it with fear and shaping a bowl that will hold the fruits of not his but our labor. Applying both exaggerations and hubris the Great Communicator highlighted a bleak picture that he underscored can only be rectified by the ruling class of which he is the head. “’This recession might linger for years. Our economy will lose 5 million more jobs. Unemployment will approach double digits. Our nation will sink deeper into a crisis that, at some point, we may not be able to reverse.’ He rejected the argument that more tax cuts are needed in the plan and that piecemeal measures would be sufficient…” (David Espo, AP Special Correspondent, Obama warns of need for stimulus bill right away, Feb 5, 2009). Translation, the peons need us to save them and the way to save them is not to let them keep the fruits of their labor but to use their blood, sweat and tears to benefit a social structure where we ultimately benefit at their expense.

To prove my point about attitude, immediately following this dire warning, the Bourgeois-in-Chief was planning on heading to a luxury resort to meet with the rest of the ruling class of his party. After proudly capping corporate executive salaries, the President will head a Democratic retreat, “…that has burned through half a million dollars in taxpayer cash … at luxury resorts” (Joseph Curl, Washington Times, Obama now in combat mode, Feb 5/09). After underscoring the need for sacrifice, after restricting the earnings of bank executives, after proposing a karate chop to the back of the knees of our capitalistic economic structure and after warning the country of the possibility of irreversible economic damage,

Mr. Obama will head to Kingsmill Resort and Spa in the historical Virginia city…the resort boasts multiple championship golf courses, a full-service spa and six restaurants…Democrats will ride together to the resort on a chartered Amtrak train at a cost to taxpayers of about $70,000” (Joseph Curl, Washington Times, Obama now in combat mode, Feb 5/09).

All on the government dole, on the blood and function of the American taxpayer…while the country is quaking in fear from his repeated ominous warnings…that bread and soup lines are surely in our future, while people are saving the cardboard from their dry cleaning to line the inside of their old shoes, while mothers are preparing to sew clothes for their children out of old sheets, the taxpayers will foot the bill for the bourgeois’ to have security helicopters fly above their train on the way to a tony resort in Williamsburg to address our economic problems.

It is unfortunate and alarming that our only hope is that the studio workers that are firing the kiln where the Master Potter is busy crafting his vessel have enough insight to smash it before the Socialist-in-Chief has the time to fill it with rancid policies or that the air bubbles that his inexperience ensures in the clay will make his socialistic, Marxist creation blow up when it hits the heat!

The Socialist Stoning We’ve All Been Waiting For

history_geromthumbslg4Large masses of class warfare groupies, who think those guys at the top are “making too much money” are cheering today that those wicked bank executives are finally going to be restricted from making large salaries. I’m sure many of them are hopeful that those immoral physicians are next in line to get knocked off their high salaried horses and know what it feels like down here to be a regular Joe. However, I wonder how deeply they have thought about how this situation might eventually impact their own lives?

Fairness” and “class equality” have become the new buzz words of an Administration that believes that everyone should be meted out equal portions of provision, regardless of station or status. The Utopia of economic justice that lays ahead for all of us is long overdue. Why should some people make more money than others? Why should there be wealthy people at all? It’s just not “fair” and finally we have a President that promises hope and change, which will ultimately serve to even out the inequities that have plagued us as a malevolent, merciless nation for so long.

Bailing out troubled banks and then capping their pay serves them right for being selfish, greedy, upper class blue bloods that care only about their own bottom line. They’ve been voracious in their appetite for more-and-more, higher-and-higher salaries and that avarice has put them in a position of bankrupting themselves. It serves them right! In comes the Dudley Do-Right of economic salvation the United States Government, at the expense of the taxpayer, with a bail out that “saves” these irresponsible organizations and the fat-cats that run them from going under. What could be better then a government that saves the drowning banking system from disaster and, in turn, salvages the common citizen from catastrophic calamity?

There is a catch to all of this that the cheering proletariat’s seem to over look following on the heels of the bailout, which is the swift implementation of government regulation. When banks decided to take the bailout, they opened the door of control and Uncle Sam speedily placed his over sized spat over the door jamb, and once in, is preventing it from being closed. Desperate executives went to the government with hat- in-hand and the benevolent bestowal of bailout money filled their pots to the point that now they have no covering to protect themselves from the brow beating they are about to receive from the same assistance givers. That brow beating is about to come in the form of “…compensation reform as part of a package of stricter regulations on the financial industry… restrictions are a first step toward a larger effort to overhaul pay practices” (Earle, NY Post, 2-4-09).

No one would argue that the governments guiding principle is anything other than appropriate.  You take the money you are now compelled to follow a whole new set of rules. You join the club of government dependency and you have to follow their strategy and are then restricted by their margins. Think of it this way, the government has now become the new CEO of the companies it rescued and they get their bonuses from us, the American tax payer…fair enough!

It should be seriously well thought-out by us common folk that if government intervenes in our personal life, would they become the new nanny and we be converted into a dependent, submissive child? No climbing on the monkey bars– you might fall, no eating sweets before dinner, don’t run too fast, limited TV, broccoli, Brussels sprouts, a daily multivitamin and the proper type of friends. Would every decision we made for ourselves as an individual be relegated to the government for final say? For example, in the area of proposed universal health care, these same bureaucrats who have come down with the edict that bank CEO’s salaries are to be capped based on the government’s contribution of revenue to save their sorry asses, would they be deciding for us restrictions on our yearly health care allotment? If so, this is where “free” loses its meaning and personal costs skyrocket in the form of lives and well being.

If anyone believes that government funded health care would provide an unlimited amount of treatment, visits, drugs or procedures, if that nightmare scenario came to pass and it became a reality, these same people are in for a terrifying wake up call. The class warfare cheerleaders that are championing the capping of salaries on bad, bad bank CEO’s will be the first ones to be bewildered and flummoxed as to why their life-saving open heart surgery would not be covered and that Lipitor would be a more cost effective alternative to the price of a by-pass, which would add years to their lives.

The identical way that taking funds from government for bailouts, accepting the government’s benevolence in the area of health care assistance would carry with it the threat of restrictions, limitations and ceilings, only in this case lives are in jeopardy instead of an inflated yearly bonus package. What the boisterous crowd of proletariat, giving the thumbs down to the CEO’s, aren’t thinking through is that as elderly people themselves, they might one day be in the same arena as those CEO’s getting the thumbs down from a younger more thunderous crowd. It would make sense for the youth to feel that with limited money available for health care they would be more entitled to the funding, based on their ability to contribute to the “common good” or the perceived privilege to be granted more years based on their age. This is where Big Brother, being the Caesar, decides to rule for or against the aged crowd of “useless eaters”.

So as the gathering throng of unruly people encourages the stoning of the bank executives and welcome the government control that they believe is justified and long overdue, it would be wise to contemplate the future choices we make concerning how much power we want to relinquish to the federal government in our own lives. As we stamp our feet yelling, “Stone them, stone them” remember that sitting on the side line lies the potential for our own demise being spelled out in the sand by a system that says, “If you take from me I own and control you.” It would be prudent to consider that our loss of self-governance, in return for the perception of receiving something for nothing, may be the ruin we are encouraging for others brought headlong upon ourselves.

If You Want To Be Assured a Position in the Obama Administration…

poar01_obama080311. First and foremost, don’t ever pay your taxes, especially if you’re involved with the Treasury Department or IRS issues.

2. Be a firm and ardent believer in “Change” the kind of change you can wrangle, like a member of a gang of thugs under threat of jail and criminal prosecution, from the pockets of every American citizen.

3. Make sure you can loudly, boldly and confidently chant “Yes, we can!” and then whatever you do just…don’t.

4. An important prerequisite should be to not even think about throwing your hat into the ring unless you’ve been in a position to grant at least one state contract to a political donor.

5. Carry around a bottle of Ginkgo Biloba wherever you go to prove to the Commander in Chief that you’re working diligently to address your recently discovered memory problem. Case in point, when Tom Daschle said, “I don’t know, something caused me to think about it, and I hadn’t until then…I have no idea why it occurred to me” he had a perfect opportunity to mention that the Ginkgo will eventually kick in. This should clinch the position for sure…and then when and if he is confirmed and becomes the Secretary of Health, Education and Welfare, he can institute a special council to champion the issue of Alzheimer’s disease.

6. Make sweeping statements about “patriotic sacrifice” and then don’t do anything that you insist everybody else should and must be doing.

7. Agree with all the proposals to spend billions of dollars on things like Amtrak, studying climate change, teaching children about sexually transmitted diseases, Head Start and the National Endowment for the Arts. Come forward at press conferences and assure the American people that what you’re proposing is good for the economy, when you know in your heart that it is a just a bill stuffed with pet projects and money for causes supported by you and the other Democratic politicians who created it. Whenever you mention that it is a “stimulus” package an easily understandable object lesson would be to just show the American people the berry flavored condoms you’ll be handing out to the youth of America to control STD’s and they’ll enthusiastically accept it as a must needed “stimulus”!

8. When you find out that discretionary spending is down and tax revenue is suffering because people aren’t spending money…suggest raising taxes to fix the problem.

9. Act haughty and make fun of the opposing parties speaking ability and public speech blunders and then fumble and bumble all over the place every time you open your mouth.

10. Keep something nearby at all times, to fan yourself with, so whenever Barry speaks and you get tingle’s up and down your legs, your face doesn’t get flushed and give you away.

11. Suggest to Obama individuals for key positions in his Cabinet people who have been your own personal patron in the past and have paid you millions of dollars in salary.

12. Remember things that you forgot right around the time you have inkling that you may be considered for a Cabinet position, like perks you’ve received from wealthy donors that should be counted as income.

13. If you’re a Catholic make sure you identify yourself as such and then staunchly and proudly support FOCA and partial birth abortion.

14. Make sure you’ve verbally attacked former administrations and the opposing political party and then when you get caught doing worse things than they’ve ever done, blame it on personal, “Errors” or “Big mistakes” and make light of your issues.

15. Project yourself to the American public as being too important and more indispensable than your crime. For instance, if you’re a tax cheat, portray yourself as the only person in America who has the experience, smarts and know-how to straighten out the tax system in this country.

16. And last, but certainly not least…compliment our new President, every chance you get, for his the hope he has brought to this nation with his outstanding ability to discern, vet and appoint Cabinet appointees.

Mass Presumption Consumption

obamahalo1If I told you that we’re going to have 20 million people living on the moon in ten years mining substances yet to be discovered, which will solve all our nation’s social, medical and political problems, what would you say? Wouldn’t you ask yourself, what is the basis of making a statement like that? Now, maybe there is a slight chance that those things may come to pass, but at best it would be a verbal sharing of my imagination, a mere fantasy. If on any level you believed me, the best you could muster is that together we could hope that my prediction comes to pass but secretly we’d both have to admit that there would be no credible basis to believe something that was probably based on my imagination or hopeful fantasy.

Yet as a nation, 54% of the electorate decided to believe and elect someone who makes similar statements. Someone whose presumptive attitude is what drives everything he says. The only difference between him and me is that he has a more finely honed ability to persuade. Large masses of people assume that what he “presumes” is true. For example, President Obama has promised the American public that clean coal technology will create 5 million jobs by 2010, based on what? He might as well have said 20 million people will be living on the moon in 10 years. There is no explanation for such a comment. No plan on how this will come to pass, it is just plain, unadulterated presumption. Five-million jobs, sixty-two percent of the population of New York City’s worth of jobs… based on what?

We now have a President who makes blanket, sweeping statements, which no one questions the validity of. We now call someone “Mr. President” who was jettisoned into the Oval Office merely on talented speaking ability and the leftist media’s ability to personally design a cult hero/celebrity. Our new Executive in Chief has zero executive experience, has run nothing, has never balanced a budget, ran a state, overseen a staff or made a corporate decision that has affected even a small group of employees. Moreover, he has zilch experience doing any of the things he has proposed, and naught experience to draw on as to whether anything he “believes” can actually work. There is always the outside chance that perhaps some of his presumptive proposals will work…that remains to be seen. However, right now, there is nothing of substance to base the measure of faith that has been put on an individual who has no record to under gird the confidence that has been nationally bestowed upon him.

Barack Obama’s presumption is of biblical proportion. He feels he can do great things…this would be a laudable, self-confident attitude to have if the well-being of the planet didn’t hinge on his self aggrandizing promotion of himself. My question to him is, “Mr. President based on what?” Isn’t it a huge “leap of faith” for a whole nation to risk, based totally on an individual’s presumption coupled together with our mutual assumption that his lofty conjectures can succeed?  This is a valid question, especially since he seems to have all the answers for everything, both nationally and internationally. Isn’t it wise to consider that possibly the hurdle we’ve taken has put a lot at stake? Here is someone deciding for himself that he’s the right individual for the job. However, if this particular job required a resume’ this applicant would have been mocked by any credible, serious-minded search committee. Barak definitely wouldn’t have made it to the first interview. However, that is not how our political system works so we’re vulnerable as citizens to the political tides that fluctuate to our own detriment.

It is dangerous for a nation to base all of its trust for everything from economic health, national security, and social justice to unbridled optimism for international peace so firmly on the shoulders of someone’s personal opinion about their own untested abilities? To place so much weight on nothing can be likened to being convinced to cross a bridge whose supports are beneath the water and not necessarily strong enough or properly tested to carry large quantities of weight. What would be the chance that we might hazard crossing over based merely on someone’s flowery entreaties? Would unwarranted conviction that we can make it to the other side, with no information to fall back on as to the amount of burden the bridge can withstand, convince us to throw caution to the wind and mindlessly venture across with full throttle abandon?

In a nation that has pooh-poohed religious faith, we have a large portion of the god-less generation putting blind faith in someone who presumes he can walk on water and his followers fervently believe him? For those who champion separation of church and state a new federal level congregation has found their deity and they refuse to divide the divinity from the dais at 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue. Secularists look down on believers in an invisible God who happens to have an extensive track record, as being naive. However, these same secularists have now unreservedly placed all their faith in a fleshy, human god with no experience in solving, overseeing, or rectifying even the minutest problem, dilemma or crisis. These nouveau believers have placed their gift of faith and trust at the altar of an ideologue, liberal college professor whose classroom lectern has now become a podium with an international stage. Here he can freely parade his presumptive proposals without constraint. This academic presumes that all the idealistic ranting of the classroom can now be implemented to solve all the problems of the nation as many of the faithful accept as true that his presumed power extends to the healing of the world!

All Hail the Stifle-Us Package

hand_drowning1To stifle something is to quell, crush or end by force. When something is stifled its suppressed, curbed, killed by impeding respiration…or suffers from difficulty breathing by being enclosed in a tight space. Thus, the new economic stimulus package will be sure to accomplish the goal of stifling the American economy by being its death knell for sure.

The American public en masse, even if on an individual basis nothing has changed for them financially, senses itself to be in a “tight” spot, suffocating in an economy that is squeezing the perceived life out of them. Right now the citizenry has been “stifled” out of buying their daily latte at Starbucks. Those same latte sippers have been holding their breath and have cast aside their paint brushes from Home Depot. I mean how can you enjoy your daily Caramel Macchiato and redecorate the lanai when so many people are in such dire straits? The fear and anxiety that has been placed upon the American people by a media that is resolute in its support of a big government, socialistic President has managed to impede the financial respiration of an entire nation…mission accomplished!

Now the brilliant answer to this problem is to take more money from those who contribute, but are not spending out of fear, and to redistribute it to those who do not contribute at all. This is the Messianic riposte to jump start the economy? This can best be likened to smothering a fire you’re trying to get started with a damp blanket. Starbucks and Home Depot will be waiting a long, long time until their regular customer base return for screws and drop cloths, while sipping on icy White Chocolate Mochas. Why? Because it’s time to share the wealth, infuse big government with tax dollars and give the reins of the horse and chariot that’s supposed to guide us out of the rugged, ruins of recession with Nancy and Harry at the helm to the same people who bankrupted Social Security, Medicare and organize the efficient goings on at Motor Vehicles.

The government, via Barry, is promising to breathe new life into our economy with $550 billion in new spending with things such as; tax relief for people who don’t pay taxes, now that’s Columbia/Harvard brilliance at its best. In true Barry style and to uphold fairness, illegal immigrants deserve more help, so the legislation, will send tax credits of $500 per worker and $1,000 per couple. It expressly disqualifies nonresident aliens, but it would allow people who don’t have Social Security numbers to be eligible for monthly checks, on you and me. One less Café’ Americano and tape measure for you, more money for illegal immigrants! Less air for you and me…checks for illegal immigrants…now that’s change we can believe in. The new, non-taxpayer, illegal immigrant friendly stifle-US package gives undocumented immigrants who are not eligible for a Social Security number the ability to file tax returns with an alternative number. A House-passed version of the economic recovery bill and one making its way through the Senate would allow anyone with such a number, called an individual taxpayer identification number, to qualify for the tax credits.

Or how about $90 billion CPR project for New Deal type jobs that didn’t work then, and won’t work now? Of course included are $79 billion to teachers unions, $41 billion more to placate even more teachers unions, $21 billion for PELL grants for students whose parents don’t pay taxes and funding for “ambiguous” higher education modernization and $400 million for the prevention of STD’s for the immoral, oversexed student’s who get free condoms and Pell Grant’s and whose parent’s don’t pay taxes. The media must be able to reach all the potential voters with their propaganda campaign, so there is even $6 billion to extend broadband to rural areas and much, much more insightful motivational funding, from King Motivator-In Chief.

For all those gasping for air, the government wouldn’t be able to spend at least one-fourth of a proposed $825 billion economic stimulus plan until after 2010 (coincidentally an election year), which could be likened to holding someone’s head underwater and just before they pass out…letting them have a minute sip of air, just enough to keep them barely alive. Unfortunately, Chris “I get tingles up my leg” Mathews, forgot to inform the public that the air they are getting is putrid, fetid and unfit for human survival.

What 57% of the American population, who support this package, don’t realize is that if you keep breathing in bad air, you die from a overdose of carbon dioxide and seeing as about one-quarter of the entire $825 billion recovery package would be devoted to activities crucial to governors, mayors, and local school boards – making them among the plans biggest beneficiaries…the major polluters are now in charge of the refilling the respirators with lots and lots of self-generated hot air.

So while the American people and their broken economy drag an oxygen can of a stimulus package around behind them they wait in vain for mass government spending and welfare programs to be the answer to their problems.   During that time it would be best to readjust our oxerator and hope that the next two years go by quickly enough to spare us from national infiltration of a choking financial emphysema. The hope for our survival lies in a new Congress in 2010, which will open the windows and let in the fresh air, common sense and financial accountability, which are all necessary to rectify this misappropriated stimulus cure responsible for stifling us all.

I’m not raising your taxes; I’m just taking away your tax cuts

josh_confusion Much of America is very excited and hopeful believing that they are going to receive a “tax cut” from the new administration. The reality is, if they are lucky their taxes won’t be “officially” raised for a year or two…until we really have to address the 1 Trillion dollar stimulus package … however, letting the tax cuts you now receive expire is in fact a tax increase. For instance, if the average American family receives $3,000.00 per year in Bush tax cuts, and that tax cut expires, you will be paying $3,000.00 more in taxes than you were when the break was in place…simple math.

It is easier for me to explain things if I put them into analogies. You may not be getting a “tax increase” but “I’m just letting the Bush tax cuts expire” is the same as saying…

I’m not killing you; I’m just unplugging your ventilator

I’m not firing you; I’m just eliminating your job

I’m not making you walk; I’m just taking away from you any means of transportation

I’m not endangering the country; I’m just downsizing the military

I’m not suffocating you; I’m just placing this pillow tightly over your face

I’m not being nice to enemy combatants; I’m just closing the jail, ending their trials and giving them American civil liberties

I’m not pro-death; I’m pro-choice

I’m not starving you to death; I’m just sewing your mouth closed

I’m not making friends with terrorists; I’m just having a leisurely lunch with Mahmoud Ahmadinejad

I’m not hiding my birth certificate; I’m just private about my place of birth

I’m not making you walk barefoot; I’m just forbidding you to wear shoes

I’m not endangering US citizens; I’m just concerned about our enemies human rights

I’m not a fan of Reverend Wright; I just sat in his church for 25 years

I’m not having sex with that intern; I’m just looking for a place to put my cigar

I’m not cheating on my wife; I just like to sleep with other woman because they wear nicer pajamas

I’m not taking away your ability to inhale air; I’m just placing a plastic bag over your head

I’m not opposed to free speech; I just don’t think people should be allowed to say that

I’m not taking your money; I’m helping you to be a kinder person

I’m not telling you can’t drive; I’m just taking away your driver’s license

I’m not a socialist; I just think you need to learn how to share more

I’m not angry; I just like to redecorate by punching holes in the walls

I’m not a dictator; I’m just forbidding you to ever do anything that I don’t approve of

I’m not into open borders; I’m just eliminating all boundaries between Mexico and the US

I’m not avoiding the question; I’m just a private person

I don’t think Iran’s making a nuclear bomb; they’re just into nuclear energy and uranium is their favorite mineral

I’m not going to weaken our national defense; I’m just going to decrease military spending

I’m not a terrorist; I just like strapping bombs around my waist and blowing myself up

I’m not trying to drown you; I’m just holding your head under water ‘til the bubbles stop

Feel free to add if you would like and extend the list…..

Carnivals, Calliopes and Cotton Candy

scaryI’ve never been one for carnivals. Although, for some they hold  the promise of escape and amusement.  But for me, they just never delivered. It was puzzling as to why at first notice that the carnival was in town people hastened to the campgrounds, scuttling through the metal gates like children being thrown free gumballs from a passing stranger.

What is a carnival anyway? It’s a place that seems like fun, lots of smiling people are there,  partaking of what I would consider to be  substandard festivities.  However, in a short amount of time you realize it is  a place where you waste time,  throw away money and do so in response to the prospective of gaining something valuable by spending very little.

A carnival is a place where a carnival barker convinces you to join in by repeating over and over that you can win at the game of chance. So, in response, you spend a large portion of the change in your pocket to find out that the prize you’ve won isn’t worth 1/16th of what you spent.  No one questions why the challenge is always orchestrated by organizers who purposely make it hard to hit the mark. The people who set up the games encourage full faith in the hope of success and are adept at convincing that the games are fair.  Carnival organizers are the ones guilty of getting more of your money, while you walk away with nothing.

At a carnival you are  bombarded by a sensual barrage of sight, sound and smell.  As people walk in time, the calliope loudly plays Julius Fucik ’s Entry of the Gladiators. The music plays incessantly hypnotizing revelers into believing they are having fun. I have persistently wondered why I was always assessing the fact that for me,  a carnival was never fun.

A carnival atmosphere is frustrating–lots of frenetic commotion but nothing ever seems to be accomplished. For example, you spend money to purchase a ticket for a ride, which has no destination. Riders are spun around only to be returned to where the started. Filled with anticipation, while being strapped in– as the ride slows to a stop there is a hush of realization that the ride didn’t live up to expectations or worse yet riders disembark  nauseous and  sick.

The supposed “big tent” that we all have been presently beckoned to is  similar. The only difference in the massive carnival is that this one is replete with political clowns. In the petting zoo the only animals are ancient pachyderms and ornery donkey’s milling around in secure, enclosed areas where only they are welcome. Citizens can’t get close enough to touch them for fear of a stampede or being mule kicked. There is  an elaborate side show, guaranteed to entertain but always falling short. The ride of choice is the Tilt-A-Whirl where you are pushed from right-to-left and all around with the result being dizziness and confusion.

At this carnival Americans toss more and more money into sponsored abysses, which deliver zero return on the investment. We’re promised a prize worth more than what we spent. In America who could resist a stuffed snake for a quarter…why it’s practically “free?” Intrinsically, America knows  that the promised prizes  aren’t worth what we’ve spent, but we continue to smile and move onto the next booth. Looking  up close at the much anticipated trophy, though oftentimes over sized and colorful,  it is of poor very quality and usually has a rip in the side where the stuffing is oozing out. Upon entering the House of Mirrors, everything is distorted. Nothing is really as it seems…what is being projected is untrue and everything around is indistinct, vague and unidentifiable.

The food is greasy and  smells like a combination of sugar, sweat, dirt and sorrow. There is only so much fluffy, sticky, cotton candy you can eat before getting sick. Yet, there seems to be a throng stampeding the gate…trying to enter the fun zone, to be part of the crowd, escape from reality, have theperspective changed, find hope in false promises and belong to the larger collective.

Unfortunately, this carnival has something that we thought was banned many years ago. It sports a large, active, vibrant freak show with a very, distinguished but disfigured star. The head barker warns the gathering crowd, reminding them of the sideshow freak’s code of honor “Offend one-and you offend them all!” As the curious and inquisitive crowd gathers closer to the stage they scream in horror and alarm as they see something that they think they may recognize looking away, but can’t help looking back. What remains is remnant of what was once a beautiful, strong woman, who has become deformed, hideous and a mere shadow of what they remember her to be. The carnival barker calls to them drawing them even closer to the stage, telling them, “Good citizens, she was once a strong and vibrant woman that held the promise of life and freedom…she was an eagless of great stature. How she became like this no one is sure, some say her safety was compromised and her values abandoned. Some say her children abused and forsook her for another way of life. How she got this way will one day be revealed…until then there she is…!”

Happy inauguration day Mr. President the people of America just love the carnival.
