New York City: The Big Apple or the Red Apple?

New York City

New York City’s Mayor de Blasio has been sworn in, and his remarks at the ceremony proved that he is unabashed in his affection for progressivism.  De Blasio vows to level the playing field, punish the rich, share the wealth, and further the progressive vision in the City That Never Sleeps.

Mr. de Blasio’s words even made “bedeviled” Bill Clinton feel comfortable enough to acknowledge his usually deeply disguised radical left-leaning ideology.  Speaking directly to Slick Willy, who attended with Hillary “Claw Her Way to the Top” Clinton, de Blasio said, “[O]ver 20 years ago, when a conservative philosophy seemed dominant, [Clinton] broke through — and told us to still believe in a place called Hope.”

As for presidential hopeful Hillary, de Blasio thanked her for informing America that “It Takes a Village” to raise a child.  Things got so blatant, Department of Sanitation chaplain Reverend Fred Lucas, Jr. of the Brooklyn Community Church even went so far as to call the city that used to symbolize opportunity and success a “plantation.”

De Blasio thanked Andrew “Fewer Guns, More Abortion” Cuomo and former mayors “Nanny State” Bloomberg and David “High Crime and Taxes” Dinkins, the latter of whom de Blasio credits for being the reason he met his wife, self-avowed former lesbian Chirlane McCray, the first openly gay person to run Dinkins’S City Hall.

Mayor de Blasio thanked Chirlane and his two children, son Dante, who resembles Clarence Williams III from the Mod Squad, and daughter Chiara, who recently admitted to struggling with substance abuse.

De Blasio even thanked his family from Italy, a country where, before he was a fascist, Mussolini was a socialist like de Blasio and got the Italian people to accept a dictatorship by getting them to falsely believe that he got the trains to run on time.

From there, de Blasio sounded like Barack Obama, whipping up a crowd with socialistic drivel when he reminded his audience that New York City is a place where “big dreams are not a luxury reserved for a privileged few.”

De Blasio declared, “New York has faced fiscal collapse, a crime epidemic, terrorist attacks, and natural disasters. But now, in our time, we face a different crisis — an inequality crisis.”

What de Blasio forgot to mention is that the “inequality crisis” he hopes to rectify was created by all the wealthy liberals he just thanked for attending his swearing-in ceremony.

Nonetheless, in a time when terrorism and crime remain a threat to New York City, de Blasio feels that even if the city remains a rat-infested terrorist target, his priority is to “put an end to economic and social inequalities” that the smiling group of bobble-heads cheering him on helped advance.

The way Mr. de Blasio proposes to accomplish that goal is through a “new progressive direction.”  The mayor is so committed to “progressivism” that he mentioned the word six times.  He brought up “progressive direction … impulse … income tax … reform … vision.”  He even vowed to transform the five boroughs, Lord have mercy, into a more “progressive place.”

After acknowledging and thanking communist sympathizer and keynote speaker Harry Belafonte, without a moment of hesitation, de Blasio mentioned “challeng[ing] the status quo” in a similar way to Progressive Era champions like Danish/American social reformer/photographer/journalist Jacob Riis and Hillary Clinton’s own psychic muse, first lady Eleanor Roosevelt, as well as Al Smith, Franklin Roosevelt, Frances Perkins, and Fiorello La Guardia.

According to the new mayor, those individuals, like himself, were on a mission to expose corporate greed and welcome immigrants, as well as “blaze a trail of progressive reform and political action” by “taking on the elite” and standing up for “social and economic justice!”

How exactly does Mr. de Blasio plan to rectify the current “inequality crisis” he feels plagues the city, because he did compare NYC with the evil horse-drawn carriage era of Charles Dickens’s French Revolution Tale of Two Cities.

Based on his promises, the de Blasio Revolution plans to expand the Paid Sick Leave Law; to “require big developers to build more affordable housing” (emphasis on require); expand community health centers in neighborhoods in need; and “to protect the dignity and rights of young men of color” by messing around with a highly successful crime deterrent called stop-and-frisk.

With the Clintons’ approval, de Blasio stressed that he didn’t want New Yorkers “to see our city … as the exclusive domain of the One Percen[t]” — the group the Clintons as well as many others on the dais have comfortably settled into.

Evidently, Mayor de Blasio thinks that bureaucratic pre-K and after-school programs are the only way to ensure that, like his daughter Chiara who struggled with marijuana and alcohol, “our kids get on the right path and stay there.”  That’s why, in order to accomplish that “common cause” goal, de Blasio will tax the wealthy and use those monies to finance an “It Takes a Village”-style “full-day universal pre-K and after-school programs for every middle school student.”

With Bill and Hillary nodding “yea” and “amen,” predictably de Blasio demeaned “far right … trickle-down economics [and] ‘[r]ugged individualism.'”  And despite Michael Bloomberg feeling the need to address obesity in New York City, de Blasio felt moved to quote Fiorello La Guardia, who said, “I, too, admire the ‘rugged individual,’ but no ‘rugged individual’ can survive in the midst of collective starvation.”

The new mayor outlined the basic tenet of redistribution of wealth when he asked his audience to “please remember: we do not ask more of the wealthy to punish success. We do it to create more success stories.”

Failing to explain who decides what is unequal or unjust or how his policy strengthens people, de Blasio stressed the notion of “[a] city that fights injustice and inequality — not just because it honors our values, but because it strengthens our people.”

In the wake of de Blasio’s swearing-in, it’s clear that newly minted Hizzoner has big plans to create his idea of a more equal, more progressive New York.  That means if the guy Bill and Hillary Clinton enthusiastically swore in has his way, the Big Apple is about to become the Red Apple.

Empujelo! Push # 1 for Timoteo Kaine (Tim Kaine) in Spanish.

ThemOriginally posted at Clash Daily

If Americans think “Push #1 for English” is infuriating, or listening to El Bloombito, aka Miguel Bloomberg, follow up all his press conference remarks with “Let me summarize our announcement today for our Spanish speaking New Yorkers” after which el se rompe en (he breaks into) poorly-spoken Spanish, now a US Senator from Virginia has felt moved to ratchet up the drama by delivering a pro-amnesty speech in – you guessed it – Español.

That’s right. Senator Timoteo Kaine (Tim Kaine) , a Democrat from Virginia, felt he could drive home the necessity to pass the immigration bill by reminding the chamber that there are millions of Spanish-speaking people living in the US who simply refuse to assimilate or learn the language and are trying desperately to make English a Second Language for Americans who speak English as a First Language.

Senator Kaine, who defines himself as a “gringo,” opened his trilling, er, I mean thrilling remarks by saying, “El senado ha comenzado un debate histórico sobre una reforma migratoria comprensiva.” This means “The Senate has started an historic debate about comprehensive immigration reform.”

After spouting off in Español for the remainder of his speech, former Governor/current Senator Kaine promised that an English translation would be placed into the Congressional Record for the peons who refuse to accommodate all the illegals who live and work in America by learning to speak Spanish.

Mr. Kaine is bi-lingual because before he became pro-choice and endorsed Barack Obama, while he was still in law school and pro-life, he traveled with the Jesuits to Honduras on a Catholic missionary outreach. Wonder whether Mr. Kaine’s liberalism and support of our socialist/Marxist president is rooted in Jesuit Liberation Theology?

Nonetheless, it was in Honduras where Señor Kaine learned to speak the native language of the Honduran people. Which begs the question: If Timoteo learned Spanish in Honduras, why doesn’t he encourage Hondurans to learn to speak English in America?

Either way, the goal of the Spanish Senate Speech stunt was for a guy born in Minnesota, raised in Kansas City, and now Senator of Virginia to illustrate how accepting he is of being invaded by illegals from Spanish-speaking countries and to prove the “growing power of Spanish-language” trespassers in the U.S.

Moreover, to speak another language on the floor of the Senate “requires unanimous consent” of other senators, which Mr. Kaine sought and was granted. Whether Timoteo bribed the senators with tamales for lunch is unclear.

Whether tamales were involved or not, it’s easy to imagine all the liberal senators being totally trilled, I mean thrilled with Kaine’s Español Show. And then there’s the always politically-correct Republican arm of the Senate that includes: Susana Collins of Maine, Juan McCain of Arizona, Liza Murkowski of Alaska, Decano Heller of Nevada, Marcos Kirk of Illinois, and Lindsey Graham of Carolina del Sur, who probably jumped to their feet and applauded wildly for comments none of them understood.

Kaine said he hopes other Spanish-speaking senators plan to argue in support of immigration this way. Kaine said, “I’m going to cross my fingers that some of the other senators with language fluency might pop up and do the same thing.”

Great idea! In the end, as amnesty that’s being served up as immigration reform is forced down the throats of the American people, the possibilities to drive home the Spanish theme are limitless.

In fact, a nice touch would be for Timoteo to request Mayor El Bloombito don a sombrero and be flown in as a Spanish-speaking guest speaker to address before the United States Senate the dificultador language challenges of illegal immigrants presently squatting illegally in New York City.

April Fool’s Census – American Thinker Blog – March 31, 2010

Yet a 2010 Census television commercial is irksome because it encourages Americans fill out census forms in order to “get our fair share of funding.”   The ad implies freebie government goody bags await whoever completes and returns the questionnaire.

In an effort to further understand the 2010 Census the NYC 2010 Census page, on NYC.gov, is one of many instructional websites. New York City Mayor Michael Bloomberg begins the tutorial by explaining how the Big Apples’ 8.36 million people determine representation and funding.  Then the mayor reassures those in hiding that the 2010 Census counts, “People of all ages, races, ethnic groups, citizens and non-citizens alike, regardless of legal status.”

Not to worry, the government pledges “All personal information … in answers to any question on the form is completely private and will not be shared with anyone else [especially Immigration and Naturalization]. The information you provide is only used for statistical purposes. Under the law, your personal information remains private for 72 years.”

In an effort to accommodate diversity, instructions are available in every conceivable language ranging from Español, to Bengali, from Farsi to Kreyòl Ayisyen (Haitian Creole), including the passé favorite, English for diehards refusing to relinquish the native tongue.

Ironically the website indicates, in the 2010 Census, numbers of shameless undocumented scofflaws actually help determine increased allocation of federal funds for things like law enforcement. Talk about convoluted policy rationalization.

So in Obamerica people who break and enter, game the system and who should be escorted out of the country are counted, represented and given legitimacy by a government overly anxious to conceal criminal history.

Law abiding citizens will also be ecstatic to know if one fails to return the form in a timely manner, census “enumerators” will make friendly house calls between May and July. Then, “The U. S. Census Bureau will deliver population counts to none other than President Obama for apportionment.”

Coincidentally, the U.S. Census Bureau will “complete delivery of redistricting data,” which will change political borders to include illegal immigrants and undocumented workers, just in time for the 2012 election.

The NYC.gov website gives multitudinous reasons why citizens are obliged to participate.  One in particular stands out; “It is your right and obligation to participate in the 2010 census so your family and community get their fair share of representation.” Justification: Trespassers’ have justifiable rights, because lawlessness-as-citizenry ensures political clout and increased federal funding.

In addition, the website implements guilt tactics by reminding the collective of responsibility toward the common good. “It is important to participate and be counted so we have accurate statistical information on our population to make polices and deliver services that meet the needs of all the people living in every neighborhood and community.”  Leaving aside, of course, policies addressing the needs of respectable citizens whose neighborhoods  and communities swarm with illegals.

According to the 2010 Census, “It is important to participate…because your presence matters and you count!” Come on America– time to stand up and be counted, time to dole out the fair share belonging to bonafide citizens, whose portion was stolen long before the 2010 census.

This April 1st, the day the 2010 Census forms are officially due, the laughing you hear all around is the sound of an Obama April Fools Day joke being played on America.
