Bill de Blasio Institutes Equity Plowing

Nothing is more rewarding than seeing liberals suffer as a result of poor political choices. That’s what is going on in New York City right now, and it’s a micro example of what has already started taking place on a national level with the implementation of ObamaCare.

This time it’s the wealthy liberal residents of the Big Apple’s Upper East Side. Unfortunately, New York City elected a nasty, malicious, socialist mayor. Bill de Blasio is a radical left-wing progressive with limited experience who was relatively unknown six months ago. Sound familiar?

Now that Bill de Blasio, who everyone knew had an ax to grind against the rich, is behaving spitefully and vindictively toward those he reviles, the reviled are suddenly expressing shock.

Democrat voters apparently think that if they support a political candidate who has plans to level the playing field against a phantom group of evil people, their own exemption from the ensuing pain can be bought with a vote.

Bill the jolly “Smackdown’ dancer” promised income equality and social justice, and plans to make NYC into a place that is no longer “the exclusive domain of the one percent,” and is proving it by ‘smacking down’ residents in wealthy neighborhoods who are now snowed in.

Think of all the people who voted for Obama and then were shocked when they lost their health insurance! Wasn’t that supposed to only happen to the mean Republicans who opposed socialized health care?

This time Mayor Bill is making his point by using a snowstorm to send a message to the rich people that Equity Plowing is the new norm in New York City. De Blasio is ‘leveling the snow drifts’ by leaving the people who work for a living snowed in while sending snow plows to neighborhoods where residents have a more urgent need to get their unemployment checks to the check-cashing store.

One Upper East Side resident, Molly Jong, had this to say about the new mayor: “He is trying to get us back. He is very divisive and political.” Get back at you for what Molly? Success?

According to Ms. Jong, de Blasio is stereotyping the area, and because of his preconceived notions is discriminating against the Upper East Side in an effort to foster fairness with a snowplow. Wouldn’t it be interesting to know how Molly Jong voted in the mayoral election?

Molly the writer ranted on:

By not plowing the Upper East Side, he is saying, ‘I’m not one of them.’ But we have everyone in this area on the Upper East Side. We have rich people, middle class people, and housing projects. We have it all.

What Ms. Jong is missing here is that, to avoid being collateral damage, the middle class people and those in the housing projects should have avoided associating with the one-percenters on the Upper East Side by choosing to live on the Lower East Side, among the oppressed poor.

Sounding somewhat like an Obama supporter shocked that the Affordable Care Act has upended her life, Barbara Tamerin, for lack of a horse drawn carriage is making her way around 81st Street and Lexington Avenue with ski poles. Barbara, the cross-country skier, declared, “I can’t believe de Blasio could do this. He is putting everyone in danger.”

Hello? Barbara, I don’t know who you voted for, but in their effort to punish one class, socialists do put everyone in danger; it’s what they do.

Take the 2009 Nobel Peace Prize winner, for instance. Isn’t he putting the whole world in danger, including the peaceniks, by attempting to equalize world power by allowing Iran to go nuclear?

Ranting on about the Snow Plow Socialist, Tamerin continued:

What is he thinking? We’re supposed to get up to a foot of snow and nobody on the Upper East Side is supposed to blink an eye? I can barely get around and I’m on snowshoes! All of the buses are stuck and can’t go anywhere. He’s crazy. We need Mayor Bloomberg back!

New Yorkers begging for Nanny-State Bloomberg to come back sound a lot like Bush haters admitting after Obama started pulling his antics that G.W. wasn’t so bad after all.

Flower shop worker Martin Cisse, 45, is of a similar opinion, saying, “De Blasio is trying to hurt the more wealthy people by ignoring us but there’s no logic to that. There are a lot of blue collar working people out here driving trucks and trying to get around too.”

Now, sort of like the Obamacare website explanation, the excuse coming from New York City’s Sanitation Commissioner, John Doherty, is that one spreader had a broken GPS and was not reporting progress to the PlowNYC website. “The GPS was not working,” he said. “Also, traffic created a lot of problems for us in that area.”

So the new thing in socialist circles is, in the process of implementing equity, when people start freaking out, blame technology.

The lesson here is that this is how socialists operate. Those determined to foster their idea of fairness are jealous, cruel hypocrites, and in an effort to create a Marxist utopia they start by putting the rich in their place.

Rest assured that both Barack Obama and Bill de Blasio will even use healthcare and snow to level the playing field. As for those who bought the lies sold by these two liberals, well guess what: No one, not even you, is exempt from the pain!

Mayor ‘Simon Says’ Bloomberg says: ‘Climb the stairs!’

Originally posted at The Blacksphererunning_up_stairs-300x467

New York City Mayor Michael Bloomberg first proclaimed ‘Simon says quit smoking.’

Then Mayor Simon demanded that everyone ‘drop your trans-fat, salt and Big Gulps.’

Now Mr. “Simon Says” Bloomberg is telling city workers to avoid elevators and take to the stairwells.  And remember that when all you stair-climbers reach the 11th floor, 32-ounce refreshment is no longer available as a reward.

Nevertheless, under the careful tutelage of Michael Bloomberg, New York City officials are embarking on a new initiative that will “encourage” office workers to huff and puff their way up the stairs instead of riding the elevators.  With tower racers who participate in the annual “Empire State Building Run-Up” as his inspiration, Simon Says Bloomberg knows it’s a do-able feat and, despite acting like it’s a suggestion, will not take kindly to resistance.

Therefore, if city office workers don’t start hoofing it skyward, the next innovative proposal he may come up with will be called the “Save Electricity: Disconnect the Elevators Initiative.”

Not for nothing, but does this guy stay up nights trying to come up with ways to piss off everyday people just trying to go about their business and live their lives the way they want to?

Under the proposed legislation, all new buildings and any building undergoing renovation will be required to make at least one non-emergency stairwell accessible, as well as signs near elevators pointing to the stairwells.

It’s unclear whether plans include elevator buttons wired to produce non-lethal electrical shocks, or whether the insides of the cars will be wallpapered with pictures of obese people in morgues who died from too many Big Gulps and too much elevator-riding.

What is known is that, as part of the effort, the city announced the creation of CAD, the “Center for Active Design,” a non-profit organization that has been assigned the job of designing healthier buildings (whatever that means), encouraging public transit, and crafting more aesthetically pleasing outdoor spaces to encourage physical activity.

An accompanying bill would make stairwells more visible by using “hold-open devices” on the doors, for those strong enough to climb 40 flights but whose arms are too weak to open the stairwell door.

At a Manhattan press conference at The New School, NYC Department of Design and Construction Commissioner David Burney said the goal is to help discourage what Rachel Jeantel, the prosecution’s star witness in the George Zimmerman trial, calls “Old School People” from riding elevators.

Mr. Burney said, “Whether you’re tall or short, fat or thin, you’ll be healthier and you’ll live longer if you’re more active. But the problem is we’ve been lulled into a sedentary lifestyle.”  So apparently, one way or another, Simon Says Bloomberg is going to cattle-prod some flabby asses and, whether they like it or not, herd city office workers toward the stairwells and force them to ascend heavenward.

Health Commissioner Thomas Farley chimed in and, referring to the lost, confused, and fearful, said “In too many buildings, the stairs are hard to find, kept locked, armed with alarms, or dark and windowless–making people afraid to use them.”

This means that in the future, if nefarious-looking, hoodie-wearing individuals are seen skulking around in dark stairwells that smell a lot like subway toilets, disregard feelings of apprehension, put heart health first, and venture onward and upward anyway. Chances are you’ll survive the climb, and even if you don’t, in New York City putting healthy living first should always trump any threat of impending physical assault.

After all, Simon Says Bloomberg doesn’t just talk the talk, he climbs the stairs.   And like every liberal dictator wannabe out there, Simon Says Bloomberg always thinks his way is the best way.  Think Michelle ‘Creamless Creamed Spinach’ Obama.

And although Bloomie has chosen to take the stairs, he evidently feels it’s his patriotic duty to make that choice for New Yorkers by forcing eight million escalator-riding slackers to lug their full body weight uphill.

By the way, not only does Bloomberg hoof the stairs, he also runs up moving escalators.  Thus, being hip himself, he is determined to make vigorous exercise “hipper for young people [with wide hips] across the city.”  As Mr. Simon Says explained:

“What we’ve got to do is just make it cool–if you will–or socially more the norm to exercise, and that’s what you see here.”

Someone should inform El Bloombito, either in Spanish or English, that midway up the stairs to the 50th floor of the General Motors Building the atmosphere is probably anything but cool.

Nonetheless, according to Simon Says Bloomberg, “The whole idea is not to change what you have to do, but to give you the idea and the impetus to do something that is in your best interest.”  That right there is a clear indication that Michael Simon Says Bloomberg is a star pupil in the Cass Sunstein School of Nudging.

Simon Says” Bloomberg is attempting to “nudge” New Yorkers in the direction he wants them to go while trying to convince them that foregoing elevators and escalators was their own idea.

And so, if you live or work in New York City, drop your Big Gulp, cut out the salt and sugar, forget the French Fries, and if you’re an office worker, kick off your business pumps and wing-tips and don your mountain-climbing footwear, because Simon Says “Climb the stairs!”

‘Big Apple’ dispensing abortifacients like candy

OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERAOriginally posted at Live Action News

As the USDA prepares to administer the final death knell to sugary school snacks and a 32-ounce soda is deemed more dangerous to a 16-year-old girl than having an IUD inserted into her uterus by a school staffer,  in the Big Apple, morning-after pills are being handed out like candy in public high schools.

Recently, Susan Edelman of the New York Post reported that under the Freedom of Information Act the newspaper had obtained records that revealed that Plan B, or the “morning after pill,” is one of many weapons being used in soda-Nazi Mayor Bloomberg and the New York City Department of Health Reproductive Health Project’s pro-choice arsenal.

The school “reproductive health” program, “CATCH — Connecting Adolescents to Comprehensive Health,” is the vehicle being used to wage a “citywide attack against the epidemic of teen pregnancy, which spurs many girls — most of them poor — to drop out of school.”

At the time the school initially informed parents of their intent to hand out birth control pills and miscarriage-inducing drugs, purportedly there was minimal parental disapproval. As a result, unless parents signed an opt-out form, NYC high school nurses were free to dispense goodies to their daughters from a large inventory of different types of birth control.

So, while Bloomberg was busy disparaging Big Gulps, “40 separate ‘school-based health centers’ doled out [to minors] 12,721 doses of Plan B in 2011-12,” which was a jump “up from 10,720 in 2010-11 and 5,039 in 2009-10.”

Although proponents of the morning-after pill claim that Plan B does not destroy life, Jeanne Monahan of the Family Research Group says that Plan B can causes a pharmaceutically-induced abortion. Monahan maintains, “It’s not a drug that prevents life; it’s a drug that destroys life. If we define life as beginning at fertilization or conception, then this drug can be an abortifacient.” `

As if the Plan B statistics aren’t harrowing enough, the report also stated:

Besides ‘emergency contraception,’ about 40 school-based clinics have dispensed prescriptions for birth-control pills, intrauterine devices (IUDs), hormone-delivering injections and Patch and NuvaRing — covering a total 93,569 monthly cycles through June 2012.

Handouts of birth-control packets rose from 6,027 in 2009-10 to 10,462 last year. Depo-Provera injections rose from 1,213 to 2,117. Staffers also insert plastic IUDs in the uterus, where they can remain for years.

Last year, thanks to the New York City-founded nonprofit prescription service NYCRx, in-school mini clinics received $390,861 worth of contraceptives.  In addition, the “city spent $2.7 million … this fiscal year [on the] school-based health centers [that] run under contract with local hospitals.”

So, sexually active adolescents without health insurance can all breathe a sigh of relief because in New York City, birth control is free!

After mentally processing the alarming statistics, Mona Davids, president of the NYC Parents Union and parent to a 14-year-old New York City high school student, claimed she was “in shock.”

What Ms. Davids doesn’t seem to grasp is that Mayor Bloomberg is deeply concerned about the future of New York City’s children – 40% of whom never make it out of the womb.

Of the 6,300 teens that got pregnant last year, fully half of those pregnancies were terminated.  Of the other half, 70% dropped out of school. Clearly, to pro-abortion/pro-education advocates like Michael Bloomberg, dropping out of school and accepting responsibility for your actions is a choice considered much worse than murdering an unborn child.

Mona Davids, who happens to be black, also pointed out that most school-based health centers are located in low-income neighborhoods. An appalled Ms. Davids rightly observed: “This was population control on blacks and Latinos without our knowledge.”  Bingo!

Establishing mini abortion clinics on school property accomplish a whole range of goals. They undermine parental authority, overlook promiscuity and, if need be, provide birth control and abortion services to address the results of sexual activity in teens.  But, as Mona Davids so aptly observed, there is a more sinister goal afoot, one that carries out the work of Planned Parenthood founder/eugenicist Margaret Sanger who, in 1914, instituted in Harlem one of New York City’s first abortion clinics.

Davids accused the New York City mayor and his unpublicized program of “purposely [keeping] the public and parents in the dark with his agenda.” Then, the concerned mom posed a question that would be interesting to hear bi-lingual El Bloombito answer in both Spanish and English, which is: “What gives the mayor the right to decide, without adequate notice, to give our children drugs that will impact their bodies and their psyches?”

That’s an easy one.  Like most liberals, Michael Bloomberg falsely believes he has the right to usurp parental rights because he’s convinced he knows better about things like Pepsi being more detrimental to health and wellbeing than a child getting a drug without parental knowledge.
