The myth that the border can’t be secured – American Thinker – July 5, 2010

Why does the left perpetually offer the excuse that what is necessary and right can’t be done? Liberals famously make lame excuses to explain away personal responsibility and defend defeat.

Take for instance the liberal mantra, “Kids have sex anyway might as well hand out condoms.” The left is of the belief that those divinely bestowed with a free will are powerless to control natural impulse. Human beings are reduced to beasts, devoid of ability to choose right from wrong.  Thus, in liberal land, lack of a standard fosters the promotion of mediocre expectations and accomplishes the goal of excusing failure.

How about another all time favorite? “Drug addicts are going to shoot up anyway, why not provide junkies with clean needles?”  Which poses the question:  Why not supply the drugs?

Isn’t this the same crew that believes Mahmoud has the self-control to refrain from lobbing a nuke at Israel? Wouldn’t society benefit more from setting standards and having confidence in individual strength and ability to overcome weakness of character?

Guess not, because the pervasive ideology of liberal excuse-making now poses a direct threat to national security.  Liberals can’t help it.  Rather than commit to doing what is right, the left starts from a position of limitation and allows weakness to be a policy guide.

Take for example, Homeland Security Secretary and left-wing excuse maker, Janet Napolitano.  At a hearing of the Senate Homeland Security and Governmental Affairs Committee, Napolitano might as well have said, “They’re gonna do it anyway so what’s the use?”

The esteemed secretary addressed the Center for Strategic and International Studies (CSIS) on “Securing the Border: A Smarter Law Enforcement Approach.”  However, Big Sis’ wishy-washy commentary included everything but “secure,” “smart,” “law,” or “enforcement.”

Janet, who heads a department “whose agency is charged with securing America’s borders,” made an abstinence-doesn’t-work apology and publicly acquiesced to failure before an effort to secure the border has even been made.  When it comes to open borders, gun runners, and drug traffickers, as well as illegal aliens streaming across the U.S.-Mexico border, the languid opinion of America’s very own Big Sis is, “You’re never going to totally seal that border.”

Janet brilliantly expressed liberal excuse-making, saying “It’s a big border.   It’s 1,960 miles across that Southwest border. It’s some of the roughest, toughest geographical terrain in the world across that border.”

Once again, liberals downgrade the power of determination when solving a problem. In the process, the left’s voice grants vagabonds the wherewithal to illegally cross the “roughest, toughest geographical terrain in the world,” while denying the world’s most potent nation possesses the ability to enforce restraint.

This is the same group who extends “choices” to people they perceive as amoeba-like and incapable of making conscientious choices, i.e., clean needles and child-sized condoms.   The hope of the left is to deliver “change” to the larger global community.  Yet world-changers continue to maintain that destitute people streaming, on foot, through the desert is a state of affairs America is powerless to control.

Napolitano should do what comes naturally and raise the white flag of surrender.  Big Sis should suggest instituting a free condom/clean needle distribution program on the border, to accommodate criminals who the Homeland Security Secretary anticipates will cross over anyway.

Little Miss “No-Fly List” – American Thinker – June 28, 2010

Originally posted at American Thinker blog

It is comforting to know that even though registered sex offenders may show up at your door wearing Census 2010 credentials, at least Americans can rest easy in the knowledge that, if flying, Homeland Security is profiling potential terrorists like six-year old Alyssa Thomas.

Little Miss “no-fly list” Alyssa found out she was under Big Sis and DHS surveillance when she and parents, Doctor and Mrs. Thomas, boarded a Continental Airlines flight from Cleveland to Minneapolis.

The ticket agent at Hopkins Airport alerted the family that Alyssa was on the TSA “no-fly list.”  The Transportation Security Administration, which has also been known on occasion to hire felons, employs airport security personnel to identify potential terrorists before they board the airplane.

Upon being informed the little girl was on the list Dr. Santhosh Thomas said, “Okay, what’s the story? What do we have to do to get off the list? This isn’t exactly the list we want to be on.”

A perplexed Dr. Thomas admitted, “We were, like, puzzled. I’m like, well, she’s kinda six-years-old and this is not something that should be typical. She may have threatened her sister, but I don’t think that constitutes Homeland Security triggers.”

A census worker raped and bludgeoned a handicapped woman in Indiana after getting a job working for the same federal government that put a first grader on the terrorist “no-fly” list, and these people want to run national health care?

If translated into health care oversight, hiring a registered sex offender to canvass neighborhoods while targeting a six-year-old as a potential terrorist would be like choosing to remove a benign mole and leaving behind a cancerous tumor.

Alyssa’s Dad claimed, “She’s been flying since … two months-old.”  In fact, the family recently traveled to Mexico, and “there were no issues at that time.”

Not so fast, doctor!

According to the Transportation Security Administration, Alyssa never had any problems before because the Secure Flight Program just began in June for all domestic flights.   Spokespersons will only say, “The watch lists are an important layer of security to prevent individuals with known or suspected ties to terrorism from flying.”

Thank God Janet Napolitano is ramping up that extra layer of domestic flight security. Why waste time addressing scores of terrorists coming over the border when you can halt a mother lode of suspicious six-year olds in tutus from boarding domestic flights.

In the end, the Thomas family did fly to Minneapolis where they planned to contact DHS to “clear up the matter.”

In the meantime, Alyssa’s “name will likely stay on the list and as for the next time she flies.” Not to worry, the FBI said that in the future, anytime little Alyssa and her Barbie doll take a domestic flight the DHS will “rely on the common sense of the security agents,” hired by the same government agency that put Alyssa on the “no-fly list” to begin with.

About time to amend that DHS report on ‘right wing extremism’ – American Thinker Blog – February 17, 2010

Now that left-wing “odd ball” Amy Bishop opened fire killing three people, will Secretary of Homeland Security Janet Napolitano be forced reissue the treatise, Rightwing Extremism: Current Economic and Political Climate Fueling Resurgence in Radicalization and Recruitment to include left-wing university professors who shoot colleagues if denied tenure?

Responding to criticism for charging ex-military, pro-life advocates and supporters of the right to bear arms as domestic terrorists–Janet defended the fundamental purpose of the declassified report. Fortifying the government’s position, Big Sis said,

Let me be very clear: we monitor the risks of violent extremism taking root here in the United States. We don’t have the luxury of focusing our efforts on one group; we must protect the country from terrorism whether foreign or homegrown, and regardless of the ideology that motivates its violence.

Ah…yeah right!

Based on political philosophy, those without a record of violence are perpetually examined under Napolitano’s ideological microscope. In the meantime a truly dangerous Amy Bishop avoided suspicion after shooting her 18-year-old brother Seth in the chest with a shotgun–killing him. Terrorist terminator Napolitano purports to monitor risks and protect Americans, “regardless of ideology,” but Janet somehow failed to flag a leftist, neurobiology professor with a history of homicidal behavior.

Big Sis’s surveillance agenda includes monitoring prospective right-wing extremists “not yet turned to attack planning.” For the past year, Secretary Napolitano kept close watch on the benign, while a sibling shooter and double-pipe bomb mailer was legitimately being considered for tenure at a major university.  Can anyone say Fort Hood shooter?

Citing racism Napolitano’s fanatic study argued right-wing extremists are, “capitalizing on the election of the first African American president, and are focusing their efforts to recruit new members.”While Napolitano screened old ladies reciting the rosary in front of abortion clinics, a shotgun toting “far-left political extremist obsessed with President Obama,” didn’t even register a blip on the radical radar.

What has been Napolitano’s concentration?  Economic downturn induced right-wing carnage–what else? Big Sis’s discourse on extremism argued, “The current economic and political climate has some similarities to the 1990s when right wing extremism experienced a resurgence fueled largely by an economic recession.”DHS shadowed “rural militias” in Alabama, Arkansas and Pennsylvania, while liberal Amy Bishop, an “awkward introvert on the brink of losing her job,” methodically shot victims in the head at a faculty meeting at University of Alabama in Huntsville.

Napolitano’s report contended, “Proposed imposition of firearms restrictions and weapons bans likely would attract new members into the ranks of right wing extremist groups.” Speaking to reporters Bishop’s husband, James Anderson admitted he knew his wife had a gun, but didn’t know when or how she got it. Left wing Amy lacked a legal permit for the murder weapon the “unsociable” professor used to dispose of three colleagues.

According to DHS “Lone wolves are the most dangerous domestic terrorism threat in the US…lone wolves … have shown intent-and, in some cases, the capability – to commit violent crimes.”More than once, “lone wolf” Bishop showed “capability.”Competence became reality when the tenure candidate proved academic metal by gunning down six people, killing Gopi K. Podila, Maria Ragland Davis and Adriel Johnson.

Victims’ relatives questioned how seven years ago the University of Alabama hired Bishop disregarding the death of her brother and dismissing the controversial Harvard pipe bomb probe? Apparently, in keeping with Napolitano DHS-style thinking, when compared to right-wing gun owners and pro-life advocates–left-wing liberal Amy’s brutal, erratic behavior was deemed nonthreatening to American lives.

Umar Farouk’s Terrorist Triumph – American Thinker January 2, 2010

Originally posted at American Thinker446186-bombing-suspect-umar-farouk-abdulmutallab

“Big Sis”Janet Napolitano reassured nervous Americans not to worry–Umar Farouk Abdulmutallab’s attempt to blow up a Northwest Flight 253 did not indicate a larger terrorist plot.  In an effort to respectfully restrain from jumping to conclusions, the Homeland Security Secretary refused to acquiesce to whether Abdulmutallab had a connection to al-Qaida.

Less than twenty-four hours later, Napolitano reconsidered the statement, admitting maybe Abdulmutallab “should not have been allowed on the airplane.”  Napolitano said, “What I would say is our system did not work in this instance [emphasis mine] – no one is happy or satisfied with that.”  Yes Janet, especially the 250+ people that were nearly blown to smithereens, while approaching a Motor City landing strip.

Maybe Napolitano can expound upon how a radical Islamic student, listed on a US law enforcement database was granted a visa to come to the United States from Yemen, a nation saturated with al-Qaida terrorists?  Abdulmutallab studied from 2005 to June 2008 at the University College of London and majored in an al-Qaida recruit subject that seems to be all the rage with terrorists like Khalid Sheikh Mohammad: mechanical engineering. The only thing more absurd than what happened on Northwest Airlines Flight 253 would be if mechanical engineer Abdulmutallab was hired to work at San Onofre Nuclear Generating Station.

Napolitano stating, “…our system did not work in this instance” implies Umar Farouk’s ability to evade airport security with explosives securely tucked in his private area was an exception compared to larger security successes.  However, judging from reports, Abdulmutallab appears to be the only one trying and succeeding to smuggle and detonate high explosives on Christmas Day.   Someone should inform the esteemed Secretary that the Homeland Security system failure rate was 100%, because “this [one] instance” was the only instance.

Though thwarted in the larger mission, Abdulmutallab proved that American homeland security makes it easy to accomplish the mission at hand and for international terrorists to retain hope and stay committed to the cause.  Similar encouragement was extended to the jihad community after Abdulmutallab admitted ties to and training from al-Qaida, but Napolitano, extending deference and benefit of the doubt, refused to acknowledge the likely connection.

Attorney General Eric Holder’s statement on the incident also mollified terrorist concerns when Holder cautiously said, “This alleged attack on the US Airplane on Christmas Day shows that we must remain vigilant in the fight against terrorism at all times.” Emphasis on ‘alleged’ in avoidance of offending Muslim brethren and underscore “remain vigilant”as if watchfulness was in operation when Abdulmutallab boarded the flight to Detroit.  Does Homeland Security believe Americans find consolation in Holder’s pledge to persist in the same type of cautionary measures that perhaps gave Umar carte blanche access to a flight into Detroit without a passport?

Napolitano admitted that, “[h]aving a chemical detonator is also a new wrinkle…that isn’t something that a lone wolf is likely to come up with.”  If it’s ‘new wrinkles’ Napolitano is concerned about the Secretary should consider Abdulmutallab spending twenty minutes in the bathroom and review the methods of, “ass-assin, Abdullah Asieri” who, “stashed a pound of explosives and a detonator inside his body in the attack on Prince Mohammed Bin Nayef, head of counterterrorism for the [Saudi] kingdom.”  In that case, the suicide bomber outmaneuvered bomb-detection in the Saudi palace and set off an explosion using a charge hidden in his rectum.

Groin terrorist, Umar Farouk Abdulmutallab was placed on the terrorist watch list in May after Abdulmutallab’s father, a prominent Nigerian banker, alarmed over his son’s extremism felt compelled to report his own flesh and blood to American authorities.  Abdulmutallab’s father was so disturbed over the radical nature of his son’s religious views that the elder registered concern with the US Embassy in Nigeria.   A situation so dire a parent reports his own child did not meet the criteria for “clear and present danger” ?

Could it be that Homeland Security has more pressing issues to attend to? When young Umar was in Yemen learning PETN detonation techniques, Big Sis was otherwise engaged in alerting the public to extremism, radicalization and environmental threats in the form of pro-life activists, returning veterans and conservatives.  Napolitano and company dismissed threats like Abdulmutallab’s radical and religious associations, neither of which were considered a red flag of concern, because HLS was aggressively keeping watch over true menaces like Christian groups and “disgruntled”  military personal.

According to Terrorist Identities Datamart Environment, or TIDE database precedence, only 14,000 people out of 550,000 cataloged terrorists, present enough evidence to require additional screening at airports.  Even more chilling, only 4,000 are registered on the no-fly list.  Which leaves, 536,000 individuals who are enough of a concern to be put in a terrorist database roster, but do not require additional screening when boarding a plane?  Moreover, 546,000 can fly anywhere, at any time without restriction?  Abdulmutallab is only one of those 546,000.  Demonstrating that the only reason 278 passengers and crew members weren’t slaughtered on Christmas day was because, like Homeland Security, Abdulmutallab’s device failed to detonate properly and brave Americans were there to tackle a fiend.

Follow the bouncing ball, according to Janet Napolitano, our system worked and then it didn’t work.  The Homeland Security Secretary doesn’t think Abdulmutallab, “…is part of a larger plot to blow up more airplanes,” but feels it would have been difficult for an individual to obtain high explosives like PETN without outside assistance.  The real question is whether the homeland was ever, or could ever be safe with Janet at the rudder?

In his statement, Attorney General Eric Holder went on to expound on the incident saying, “Had this alleged plot to destroy an airplane been successful, scores of innocent people would have been killed or injured.”  Such insight is astounding.  Yes, out of 278 passengers and crew, 277 innocent passengers would have surely been killed as well as one successful martyr for jihad.

As our nation stands on the precipice of a government takeover of health care the Northwest Flight 253 incident should confirm for Americans (whether in the air or on terra firma) that Washington, DC cannot be trusted with our safety, health or security, on any level.  Even the left-leaning New York Times admitted that, “[d]espite the billions spend since 2001 on intelligence and counterterrorism…it was something simpler that averted disaster on a Christmas Day flight to Detroit: alert and courageous passengers and crew members.” Once again, ordinary Americans put bureaucracy to shame saving themselves from the dangers government failure poses to all our lives.

Homeland Insecurity

Rules for Rightwing Radicals

The dragging manacles scrapping along the halls of power belong to the ghost of Saul Alinsky. He is the phantom influencing the tenor of the politics insuring that left-wing policies are implemented, unobstructed by dissension. Alinsky taught his mentee well and now Barry is able to apply the principles of Rules for Radicals to every person or group who disagrees with him in any venue of governance.

The President is a textbook narcissist. He presents himself as being secure and having high self-esteem but instead has crossed the “border of healthy confidence into thinking so highly of himself that he has put himself on a pedestal.” Obama’s deluded impression of himself causes an inability to handle criticism or disagreement. Narcissists demand constant praise and admiration, expect others to concur with their ideas and plans and are easily hurt and rejected.

Alinsky’s tactics work to Obama’s advantage. He repeatedly utilizes the tenets of Rules for Radicals attacking and targeting those, be they individuals or groups, who do not agree with or approve of his political policy initiatives. Obama appears most content orating between two Greek columns, at an elevated podium, in a stadium full of weeping, cheering devotees, smoke machines puffing away while soaring violins play Handel’s Messiah at his entrance.

Since Election Day, Obama has been acting the part of a narcissistic, alpha-male, marking territory like a dog racing around a hydrant claiming it as his own. If anyone tries to impede him, he shifts into bullying, aptly applying Alinsky Ghost of Radicals Past methods, insuring those perceived as a threat are aware he alone is the leader of the pack.

Alinsky scholar, Barack H. Obama, doesn’t take well to other dogs coming around his telephone pole barking and baring their drooling fangs demanding he back off.  It appears Obama has decided, in true Alinsky style to… target, freeze, personalize and polarize” his political opposition.

One shocking example of this is the Department of Homeland Security’s (DHS), presently identified as The Department of Haughty Socialists, “Intelligence” Analysis Report. Unclassified and widely distributed entitled, Rightwing Extremism: Current Economic and Political Climate Fueling Resurgence in Radicalization and Recruitment. This 10-page atrocity is devoid of facts and based solely on discriminatory, political profiling-type supposition whose presentation illustrates typical Saul Alinsky technique.

The anti-capitalist spirit of Alinsky is goading Obama to take a sword to the reputation of rightwing conservatives, instructing him to target them, freeze negative public perception, personalize the attack and polarize all people on the right without distinction. “The Radical may resort to the sword … He hates these individuals not as persons but as symbols representing ideas or interests which he believes to be inimical to the welfare of the people. In this case, this method is being used as patent intimidation and chastisement, resulting from the Rights lack of support for Obama’s narcissistic plans to radicalize and socialize our entire nation.

The Intelligence and Analysis Assessment warned law enforcement officials of the threat of rightwing extremists. After its worldwide release, the information specified that the supposed impending terrorization is “largely rhetorical”and there are no “…indicated plans to carry out violent acts.” Translation: the report is based on pure speculation and has no specific information to back up accusations. Nonetheless, symbolism, although errantly applied, does give substance to the impressions and thoughts of the uninformed masses, which is precisely its purpose.

The groups, under attack, include anyone who disagrees with big government, those who favor federalism, anyone who opposes illegal immigration, second-amendment rights advocates, pro-lifers, service men and women returning from war in Afghanistan and Iraq. Whether they are individuals or groups like the military, NRA or Birthright, all are now considered a potential terrorism concern to the Obamalinsky administration. It seems as if the specter of Saul Alinsky is whispering to his apprentice reminding him that “Ridicule is man’s most potent weapon.”

This administration wants to steer the public away from what they call the “politics of fear” by rejecting the terrorism moniker as fear based, renaming terrorists, man-caused disaster-ists. They then assign the name “terrorist” to Americans in hopes of cultivating an environment of trepidation among the citizens of this nation one-toward-another. Alinsky has taught Obama well that the “…morality of a means depends upon whether the means is being employed at a time of imminent defeat or imminent victory.” Through the misrepresentation of many upstanding Americans this administration has targeted as a threat to the nation innocent private citizens.  Even referring to conservative political banter, on the Internet, as “chatter,” which is the language used to describe intercepted terrorist communication.

Shamelessly, the Intelligence Based on Ignorance Report amassed returning veterans together with, ex-military man turned, Oklahoma City bomber Timothy McVeigh and a pro-gun, Philadelphia shooter who killed three police officers. What better way to cultivate the soil for a paramilitary group than to wear away the nation’s trust and foundational confidence in the United States military? An Obama paramilitary organization can be counted on to abide by any command from their leader, made-up of illegal immigrants and scores of people made dependent for survival upon his policies. A band of yahoos who are willing to apply the Alinsky principal that, “In war, the end justifies almost any means.”

The extremist report repeatedly mentions this, “historical election” as recruitment tool for the Right. It clarifies that “most statements by rightwing extremists have been rhetorical, expressing concerns about the election of the first African American president, but stopping short of calls for violent action.” One problem is that the assessment fails to give examples. It is replete with conspiracy theory, accusations and long-shot associations but extremely deficient in facts, examples or references. Even going so far as to say that “…in the run up to the election, extremists appeared to be in the early planning stages of some threatening activity targeting the democratic nominee,” once again no citation or proof, failing to identify the extremists.

Obama, under Alinsky’s tutelage, managed to stir up a good dose of racial suspicion and division, accomplished through personal pit-bull, Homeland Security Secretary, Janet Napolitano. Napolitano implicated individuals with policy beliefs adhering to less government, faithfulness to the Constitution, right-to-life, respect for law and opposition to illegal immigration. She did this through nuances implying these values are somehow connected to racial bigotry.

This suspect examination of rightwing extremists naturally brought up the illegal immigration issue, highlighting “prominent,” unnamed civil rights organizations having “observed” an increase in anti-Hispanic crime. Unfortunately, neither was the Hispanic civil rights groups identified, nor was there any statistical data offered to back up the statement. The opportunity to bring balance was curiously overlooked by failing to mention that Hispanic crime is on the rise in our country, or the obvious terrorist aspect of marauding Latino street gangs.

The assessment analysis doesn’t waste an opportunity to intimate that Christianity may play a role in extremism by mentioning “end times” prophecy in the same breath as racist, anti-Semitic, conspiratorial, violent Christian Identity groups. The goal here has an obvious justifiable agenda.  Liberal author Mary Beth Rogers said there are, “Only two kinds of people who can afford the luxury of acting on principle, those with absolute power and those with none and no desire to get any…everyone else who wants to be effective in politics has to learn to be ‘unprincipled’ enough to compromise in order to see their principles succeed.”

This report is an effort to convince the public that DHS is concerned with protecting the general public from the danger of potential home-grown terrorist organizations and then morphs into a terrorist extremist itself. The definition of terrorism is the threatened use of force by a person or organized group against people with the intention of intimidating or coercing societies or governments often for ideological or political reasons. The rightwing of this nation is the group being terrorized by the President’s administration. Conservatives are being threatened by the force of words with the intention of menacing and coercing us into surrendering to a left-wing, liberal narcissists ideology and political persuasion.

Saul‘s protégé knows that “The threat is usually more terrifying than the thing itself.” The danger of being viewed as a terrorist, extremist, being grouped together with militia men who threatened to kill illegal immigrants, domestic terrorists, Ku-Klux Klansmen and White supremacists, is being used as an Alinsky inspired means of control to daunt and smother political opposition.

Barry Soetero, ACORN community organizer, sees us as his own large scale neighborhood and he is applying Alinsky organizing techniques on us to pressure us into submitting to his socialistic plans for this nation. The Narcissist-in-Chief is lifting his leg on a group of people who refuse to allow him to mark us as his own or transform us into the prescription he needs to address his self-absorbed issues by defining us as terrorist extremists instead of the patriotic Americans we are!

Obama’s desire to target, freeze, personalize and polarize fifty-percent of the population and make conservatives or rightwing political adherents a bigger threat to the safety of this nation than true Islamic extremists that desire to see us destroyed. His view of those who disagree with him has been exposed in this report, as well as his pathetic clutching at obscure, pitiable, rare examples in an effort to isolate and shut down opposing political dissent.
