Seizing Hairdryers and Emancipating Aliens

Immigrants_Released_03b10-300x247Next time you’re in a large crowd or eating a powdered cruller at Dunkin Donuts, try not to think about the fact that there are people coming over the border or arriving through customs from Asia with drug-resistant tuberculosis. Moreover, when you’re at the mall and you see a nervous-looking Middle Eastern-type guy pacing around with a backpack, shoo it away from your mind and don’t let anything stand between you and that hot Aunt Annie’s pretzel you’ve had a hankering for.

Furthermore, when you realize that the President can’t figure out that there’s a big difference between releasing 1,000 immigrants a week for three weeks versus releasing a “few hundred” in a couple of weeks, don’t let that stop you from demonstrating “The Harlem Shake” on Face Time.

The concern here isn’t “the high prevalence of infectious diseases and increasing movement of people across the borders.” No, what takes precedence over the infiltration of foreign contagions is our government making sure the produce guy handling the tomatoes in the supermarket is free to pass along a  deadly super bug without fear of reprisal or deportation.

Whatever happened to ‘bring us together’?

In April 2009, less than three months after Barack Obama took office, the Department of Homeland Security issued a report entitled “Rightwing Extremism: Current Economic and Political Climate Fueling Resurgence in Radicalization and Recruitment.”

The super-duper-specialized Extremism and Radicalization Branch of the Homeland Environment Threat Analysis Division prepared the document, to help law enforcement officials on every level understand, “deter, prevent, preempt, or respond to terrorist attacks against the United States.”

The findings of the report did not address the threat of terrorist attacks from Muslim extremists who have infiltrated our military, our government and our neighborhoods. Instead the report clumped together what they called ‘rightwing extremists’ into a terrorist threat group that included “hate-oriented” individuals such as disgruntled ex-military personnel, Second Amendment advocates, and pro-lifers.

Also identified were individuals who could potentially pose a problem based on their concerns over the overreaching arm of federal government, the economic downturn, joblessness, the growing radical Muslim problem, and illegal immigration.  In essence, the Department of Homeland Security document was linking people with everyday anxieties to white supremacist nuts the government claimed were gearing up for violence because they resented an African-American president.

In the three-plus years that Barack Obama has occupied the office of president, he has actually exacerbated every trigger listed in the right-wing extremism document. Thanks to Obama’s policies, the American economy and job market have both deteriorated and worldwide Muslim unrest and radicalization has accelerated at lightning speed.

His handling of the war and national security and making the military a staging ground for gay issues has had a profound effect on military morale. Second Amendment rights have been threatened and pro-life taxpayers are being forced to shoulder the cost of contraceptives, sterilization and abortion. Barack Obama has pushed illegal immigration buttons on every front from suing Arizona to vetoing the state of Texas’ right to ask for identification before voting.

But above all President Obama has aggravated racial tension in this country.  His inappropriate involvement began with his impulsive remarks concerning the Henry Louis Gates incident in Cambridge, Massachusetts. Moreover, it continues to this day whenever he allows Attorney General Eric Holder and his Department of Justice to demonstrate racial partiality on issues such as not prosecuting the New Black Panther Party for threatening voters with billy clubs during the 2008 election in Philadelphia.

The DHS report said:

Rightwing extremists have capitalized on the election of the first African American president, and are focusing their efforts to recruit new members, mobilize existing supporters, and broaden their scope and appeal through propaganda, but they have not yet turned to attack planning

Which raises the question: Why would the President, in what can only be described as an underhanded and manipulative way, not to mention identical to his Henry Gates “acted stupidly” comment in both its tone and intended effect, stir the volatile racial unrest surrounding the heartbreaking shooting death in Florida of 17-year-old Trayvon Martin? It’s beyond comprehension.

The investigation into the incident has barely begun.  But if, at this early juncture, Obama has already made up his mind and if addressing senseless violence was why he initially spoke out, then why hasn’t he also condemned 20-year-old Tyrone Dale David Woodfork for sexually assaulting and beating to death 85-year-old Nancy Strait in Tulsa, Oklahoma who, quite frankly, could have been Obama’s maternal grandmother?

Instead, rather than quell the strife, Barack Obama saw fit to throw $5-a-gallon gasoline on an already raging fire by encouraging national “soul searching.” The President deliberately personalized the tragedy and made a comment that can only be described as either shockingly narcissistic or shamefully pandering when he said, “If I had a son he’d look like Trayvon Martin.”

In response to Trayvon’s death Reverend Jesse Jackson chimed in saying, “there is a mistaken assumption in some corners of America that all racial problems went away with the election of President Obama. There was this feeling that we were kind of beyond racism. That’s not true. His victory has triggered tremendous backlash.”

Along with “no justice, no peace,” the words of Jesse Jackson carried with them the following veiled threat: “The indifference to this kind of pain is just going to intensify the protests.” Jackson also shared his observation that in America “Blacks are under attack.”

Well if that’s the case then 90-year-old Caucasian Bob Strait being shot in the face with a BB gun and struggling for his life in an Oklahoma hospital indicates that whites are under attack too.

Someone should inform predictable race-baiters like Jesse Jackson, shameless rally-organizer Al Sharpton, and Barack Obama that every day, regardless of skin color, innocent people are harmed in all kinds of violent incidents. If these men were responsible leaders, what they all would be saying is, ‘Let’s wait for the police to do their job and finish the investigation, and stop jumping to conclusions.’ But they won’t cuz’ they’re not.

And despite an eyewitness report that may now cast the Zimmerman-Martin incident in a whole new light, the militant New Black Panther Party is still busily stapling posters on telephone poles demanding Trayvon Martin’s Hispanic shooter, George Zimmerman, be taken by citizens “Dead or Alive.”

So, while Secretary of Homeland Security Janet Napolitano tracks down 13,000 “unsafe hair dryers” on the border and Barack Obama, in between attending $38,500-a-head fundraisers, does his small part to help stoke racial turmoil, Jesse Jackson and Al Sharpton are openly “capitalizing, recruiting, mobilizing, propagandizing and planning potential attacks.” But so far neither the DHS nor the President of the United States have addressed the danger being posed to homeland security by left-wing extremists stirring racial unrest in America’s already unstable black communities.

The myth that the border can’t be secured – American Thinker – July 5, 2010

Why does the left perpetually offer the excuse that what is necessary and right can’t be done? Liberals famously make lame excuses to explain away personal responsibility and defend defeat.

Take for instance the liberal mantra, “Kids have sex anyway might as well hand out condoms.” The left is of the belief that those divinely bestowed with a free will are powerless to control natural impulse. Human beings are reduced to beasts, devoid of ability to choose right from wrong.  Thus, in liberal land, lack of a standard fosters the promotion of mediocre expectations and accomplishes the goal of excusing failure.

How about another all time favorite? “Drug addicts are going to shoot up anyway, why not provide junkies with clean needles?”  Which poses the question:  Why not supply the drugs?

Isn’t this the same crew that believes Mahmoud has the self-control to refrain from lobbing a nuke at Israel? Wouldn’t society benefit more from setting standards and having confidence in individual strength and ability to overcome weakness of character?

Guess not, because the pervasive ideology of liberal excuse-making now poses a direct threat to national security.  Liberals can’t help it.  Rather than commit to doing what is right, the left starts from a position of limitation and allows weakness to be a policy guide.

Take for example, Homeland Security Secretary and left-wing excuse maker, Janet Napolitano.  At a hearing of the Senate Homeland Security and Governmental Affairs Committee, Napolitano might as well have said, “They’re gonna do it anyway so what’s the use?”

The esteemed secretary addressed the Center for Strategic and International Studies (CSIS) on “Securing the Border: A Smarter Law Enforcement Approach.”  However, Big Sis’ wishy-washy commentary included everything but “secure,” “smart,” “law,” or “enforcement.”

Janet, who heads a department “whose agency is charged with securing America’s borders,” made an abstinence-doesn’t-work apology and publicly acquiesced to failure before an effort to secure the border has even been made.  When it comes to open borders, gun runners, and drug traffickers, as well as illegal aliens streaming across the U.S.-Mexico border, the languid opinion of America’s very own Big Sis is, “You’re never going to totally seal that border.”

Janet brilliantly expressed liberal excuse-making, saying “It’s a big border.   It’s 1,960 miles across that Southwest border. It’s some of the roughest, toughest geographical terrain in the world across that border.”

Once again, liberals downgrade the power of determination when solving a problem. In the process, the left’s voice grants vagabonds the wherewithal to illegally cross the “roughest, toughest geographical terrain in the world,” while denying the world’s most potent nation possesses the ability to enforce restraint.

This is the same group who extends “choices” to people they perceive as amoeba-like and incapable of making conscientious choices, i.e., clean needles and child-sized condoms.   The hope of the left is to deliver “change” to the larger global community.  Yet world-changers continue to maintain that destitute people streaming, on foot, through the desert is a state of affairs America is powerless to control.

Napolitano should do what comes naturally and raise the white flag of surrender.  Big Sis should suggest instituting a free condom/clean needle distribution program on the border, to accommodate criminals who the Homeland Security Secretary anticipates will cross over anyway.

About time to amend that DHS report on ‘right wing extremism’ – American Thinker Blog – February 17, 2010

Now that left-wing “odd ball” Amy Bishop opened fire killing three people, will Secretary of Homeland Security Janet Napolitano be forced reissue the treatise, Rightwing Extremism: Current Economic and Political Climate Fueling Resurgence in Radicalization and Recruitment to include left-wing university professors who shoot colleagues if denied tenure?

Responding to criticism for charging ex-military, pro-life advocates and supporters of the right to bear arms as domestic terrorists–Janet defended the fundamental purpose of the declassified report. Fortifying the government’s position, Big Sis said,

Let me be very clear: we monitor the risks of violent extremism taking root here in the United States. We don’t have the luxury of focusing our efforts on one group; we must protect the country from terrorism whether foreign or homegrown, and regardless of the ideology that motivates its violence.

Ah…yeah right!

Based on political philosophy, those without a record of violence are perpetually examined under Napolitano’s ideological microscope. In the meantime a truly dangerous Amy Bishop avoided suspicion after shooting her 18-year-old brother Seth in the chest with a shotgun–killing him. Terrorist terminator Napolitano purports to monitor risks and protect Americans, “regardless of ideology,” but Janet somehow failed to flag a leftist, neurobiology professor with a history of homicidal behavior.

Big Sis’s surveillance agenda includes monitoring prospective right-wing extremists “not yet turned to attack planning.” For the past year, Secretary Napolitano kept close watch on the benign, while a sibling shooter and double-pipe bomb mailer was legitimately being considered for tenure at a major university.  Can anyone say Fort Hood shooter?

Citing racism Napolitano’s fanatic study argued right-wing extremists are, “capitalizing on the election of the first African American president, and are focusing their efforts to recruit new members.”While Napolitano screened old ladies reciting the rosary in front of abortion clinics, a shotgun toting “far-left political extremist obsessed with President Obama,” didn’t even register a blip on the radical radar.

What has been Napolitano’s concentration?  Economic downturn induced right-wing carnage–what else? Big Sis’s discourse on extremism argued, “The current economic and political climate has some similarities to the 1990s when right wing extremism experienced a resurgence fueled largely by an economic recession.”DHS shadowed “rural militias” in Alabama, Arkansas and Pennsylvania, while liberal Amy Bishop, an “awkward introvert on the brink of losing her job,” methodically shot victims in the head at a faculty meeting at University of Alabama in Huntsville.

Napolitano’s report contended, “Proposed imposition of firearms restrictions and weapons bans likely would attract new members into the ranks of right wing extremist groups.” Speaking to reporters Bishop’s husband, James Anderson admitted he knew his wife had a gun, but didn’t know when or how she got it. Left wing Amy lacked a legal permit for the murder weapon the “unsociable” professor used to dispose of three colleagues.

According to DHS “Lone wolves are the most dangerous domestic terrorism threat in the US…lone wolves … have shown intent-and, in some cases, the capability – to commit violent crimes.”More than once, “lone wolf” Bishop showed “capability.”Competence became reality when the tenure candidate proved academic metal by gunning down six people, killing Gopi K. Podila, Maria Ragland Davis and Adriel Johnson.

Victims’ relatives questioned how seven years ago the University of Alabama hired Bishop disregarding the death of her brother and dismissing the controversial Harvard pipe bomb probe? Apparently, in keeping with Napolitano DHS-style thinking, when compared to right-wing gun owners and pro-life advocates–left-wing liberal Amy’s brutal, erratic behavior was deemed nonthreatening to American lives.
