Heads up! Obamacare ‘Clarification’ Keeps on Coming

sabelOriginally posted at Clash Daily

Dollars to donuts, Florida + library = senior citizens, which is why being prematurely gray makes Sebelius so approachable for certain age groups. That’s good, because the chief Obamacare spokes-falsifier, Kathleen Sebelius, matter-of-factly surprised a group of local residents at a Miami library with the news that “There are some individuals who may be looking at increases” in health insurance premiums.

Standing in the shadow of the stacks, the HHS secretary clarified for the timeworn that you “cannot make a statement based on cost unless you compare what they had to what they’re going into.”

Sebelius, bearer of good tidings and more bombshells, popped in on the Sunshine State to badger shell-shocked residents to enroll on the website that isn’t working. In addition, she informed a group that probably hasn’t even fully mastered the computer mouse that if they manage to live long enough to get enrolled, they shouldn’t be surprised if, despite their fixed incomes, they end up paying higher premiums.

In other words, henceforth, the advocates of freedom of choice will be doing the choosing, and if that choice happens to cost more than Americans are able to afford, then pipe down, Pops, and buck-up, Grams, because you’re either going to pay the fine or prepare to deal with a nasty squad of IRS goons.

Hey, stop complaining! Costs will be higher for some because the government is mandating coverage for things that retirement home residents aren’t aware they need.

Barack Obama is hoping to facilitate scenarios like the one where a randy 96-year-old named Ramajit Raghav of Delhi, India, when not working the fields, found the energy to sire a son with his 52-year-old fertile wife, Shakuntala Devi.

Ramajit and Shakuntala prove that although Gramps and Granny may not realize it, by universally folding maternity leave into their health insurance policy Barack Obama and Kathleen Sebelius have the best interests of older Americans at heart. In fact, it would be a great promotional gimmick if the president could recruit Ramajit to accompany him on his next “Shove Obamacare Down America’s Throat” tour.

For those who want to exercise their reproductive rights, if, down the road, Ruth and Melvin decide that an unplanned pregnancy would cut into Mahjong tournaments and country line dancing at the community center, it’s comforting to know that abortion-on-demand coverage is included in Obamacare for everyone.

Either way, from Miami to Mukwonago, grateful people of all ages are slowly acknowledging that gross personal incompetence is what prevents Americans from governing their own lives, and in turn are becoming more appreciative by the day that the Obama administration is anxious and willing to accept the responsibility for making every life-and-death decision for us.

Take for instance the Obama administration’s FORWARD-looking plan to advance the common good by canceling perfectly adequate, affordable individual health insurance plans. How about government central displaying how much they care by removing trusted family doctors from the list of available healthcare providers? And let’s not forget fostering fairness by making world-renowned cancer and research hospitals off-limits to those whose lives depend on them.

And to help the president advance this superb agenda, everyone, including Americans on fixed incomes, will have to pay more, and should be happy to do it!

Next on the itinerary, hopefully Kathleen Sebelius will clear up the misunderstanding about Obama’s pledge that the elderly, chronically ill and those with preexisting conditions would be covered for healthcare, because that’s not really what he meant at all. The smiling HHS secretary can drop in on hospitals and retirement communities and help ease anxieties by calmly clarifying that what the president meant to say was that Obamacare will permanently alleviate suffering and then subsequently cover burial costs.

Racial Unrest and the ‘Duty to Retreat’

In response to the second degree murder acquittal of George Zimmerman, pro-Trayvon Martin supporters are expressing their displeasure with the verdict by storming shopping malls and pilfering drive-in markets. The point of the “tear up the city” rallies currently taking place across America is to loudly proclaim that an innocent teenager died because he had a run-in with a trigger-happy racist itching to kill a black boy.

In honor of Trayvon, bands of whipped-up teens are “running in and out of traffic, knocking people over on the sidewalks and snatching their belongings.” And so, rather than underscore Trayvon’s supposed virtuousness, roving marauders angered over the acquittal are substantiating the validity of Zimmerman’s claim that Trayvon broke his nose, threatened his life, and smashed his head on the sidewalk.

Sadly, as criticism is being directed toward the State of Florida, the duty to quell the anger of those wreaking havoc has taken a back seat to placating the race-baiters and convincing Americans that self-defense is never a viable option.

Meanwhile, in retaliation, innocent people are being preyed upon. Hollywood stars who employ armed personal bodyguards vow to boycott Florida because of stand-your-ground laws, the New Black Panthers placed a $10,000 bounty on Zimmerman’s head, and Jesse Jackson is inciting further animosity by calling the state of Florida an “apartheid state.” Civil rights leaders such as rape-hoax perpetrator Al Sharpton and Barack “Trayvon Martin could have been me” Obama seem more concerned with perpetuating a narrative of lingering racial bias than respecting established law.

Adding to the rancor, Eric Holder’, the man ultimately responsible for the distribution of “Fast and Furious” weaponry to Mexican drug cartels and the shooting death of two U.S. Border patrol agents, is self-righteously stirring up more fury by expressing the anti-self-defense opinion that if your life is in danger, you have a “duty to retreat.”

Someone should pull Mr. Holder aside and inform him that Ambassador Christopher Stevens was in the process of retreating when he was brutally sodomized and murdered.

Nevertheless, the explanation could be that self-defense is joining self-reliance as one more concept anathema in Obama’s America, because according to the chief law enforcement official of the United States, if your life is threatened, lace up your running shoes because retreat is the only acceptable option, and if Holder gets his way, the only legal option as well.

And that makes sense, because retreat from individual responsibility and self-reliance has already been pretty well established. The next logical step in the dismantling of American society as we know it would be to convince those being attacked to retreat from preserving property, life, and above all liberty. In other words, to retreat from everything that being an American used to mean.

Still, racial injustice rallies remain irrational. The truth is that tacitly encouraging lawlessness further damages the theory that Trayvon was an innocent victim. The vigilante “Justice 4 Trayvon” group unintentionally gives George Zimmerman’s story more credibility. Yet the Trayvon sympathizers who possess the authority to make a difference have chosen to allow rowdy protesters to act in a manner contrary to what they insist was Trayvon’s demeanor on the night he was shot.

Indeed, protesters behaving in a manner similar to what the neighborhood watch captain claims he encountered on the night his nose was broken and his head cut up proves that, regardless of what Eric Holder says, Americans, now more than ever, have a “duty to [refuse to] retreat.”

Joe Biden Peddles Free Colonoscopies

Originally posted at American Thinker blog

Talking up Barack Obama’s commitment to Medicare in Florida, Joe Biden delivered a promise to seniors that he must believe will sew up the Sunshine State for Obama: free colonoscopies.

Although free contraceptives would normally be tantalizing bait for the bridge/billiards/ bingo set, what Sandra Fluke deems important might not cut it for the residents of the Century Village Clubhouse in Boca Raton.  So, remaining in the same anatomical vicinity and speaking from a general area of expertise, Joe reassured seniors that doctors could embark on a tour of their lower intestines for a zero co-pay.

In addition to promising free colonoscopies, full-of-it Joe also offered a “firm testimonial for the president when it comes to his stewardship of the US relationship with Israel.”

Adapting his stump speech to appeal to the religious persuasion of some of his audience, Biden said “Although I was raised by a righteous Christian, my dad, I was raised by an awful lot of folks back home politically who taught me early on, along with my pop, that we have certain special obligations around the world. One of those, one of those, is Israel.”

After mentioning Israel, Joe said, “I’m not going to talk about Israel today.” Then the Vice President, sounding like he might be the one suffering from senile dementia himself, said “I just want to say one thing. I just want to tell you how proud I am, how proud I am to stand shoulder to shoulder with a guy who has done more for Israel’s physical security than any president of the eight I’ve served with.”

Joe should have first asked for a show of hands from those in the early stages of Alzheimer’s disease prior to declaring: “Everyone knows, everyone in this room knows that President Obama has increased the benefits available to people on Medicare by the action he took.”

Although Obama gutted Medicare to keep Obamacare “deficit neutral,” Mr. Biden stressed that seniors are “[n]ow able to go get a wellness exam.”  What Joe didn’t elaborate on was what Obamacare covers if that wellness exam found them…er, not so well.  Vice President Biden also neglected to explain the President’s view on end-of-life care and whether those exhibiting a “joy of life” would be more likely to get the pacemaker or the pain killer.

Then, the Vice President explained:  “and guys, if you conclude you need a colonoscopy because of the feeling you had or you need a breast health examination, you don’t have to pay a co-pay for that.” The 69-year-old Vice President implying personal knowledge of a “feeling” many seniors have concerning colon health probably introduced a dose of relatable familiarity into an already thrilling event.

Biden went on to hammer Romney/Ryan’s credibility when it comes to issues of Social Security and Medicare and warn how seniors would be negatively affected if the Republican team was elected.

Joe Biden implored: “A lot of you who are my age, you know one of the things we learn is, it’s not just what you say, it’s what you’ve done. And ladies and gentlemen, I’d just ask you, who is likely to be telling you the truth? Someone who’s spent 40 years of his life defending Medicare… or these folks who’ve already demonstrated what they’re prepared to do?”

Bingo Joe! But what about President Obama?  Hasn’t he proven to Americans of all ages that whether it’s healthcare, Medicare cuts, or his dismissive and sometimes contemptuous treatment of the nation of Israel, “it’s not just what you say, it’s what you’ve done?” Therefore, despite a “righteous Christian” like Joe Biden promising free colonoscopies, hopefully, clear-thinking senior citizens already know that what Barack Obama has both said and done is the surest indicator of “who is likely to be telling the truth.”

The Cocoa-Puff Challenge

Posted at Renew America

Lieutenant Colonel Allen West (R-FL) can hardly host a town hall meeting or public event without being harassed by rowdy protesters who resent the Florida Congressman’s conservative politics.  West’s events are regularly disrupted by “sunshine blowing” CAIR activists, former Air America radio hosts, Robocall campaigners, and confused white women who mistakenly criticize West over issues they actually agree upon.

Always the gentleman, Allen West has even been accused by Democratic National Committee chair Debbie Wasserman Schultz (D-FL) of wearing “extreme disrespect as a badge of honor.”  Debbie believes West “thinks it’s ok to objectify and denigrate women.” Rest assured, if such an outrageous accusation was hurled in Barack Obama’s direction the media would interpret it, as a racial slur, insinuating that the accuser believes the hip-hop culture, notorious for “objectifying and denigrating women,” is endemic to all men of color.

Funny, when Debbie made the remark the NAACP and Al Sharpton didn’t demand an explanation for such a racially narrow-minded, Harry Reid, “light-skinned-lack-of-Negro-dialect” comment. Maybe it’s because besides having coffee and donuts with Joe Biden the left is otherwise occupied with identifying and rooting out every trace of explicit and “‘implicit’ (or unconscious) prejudice” wherever it manifests.

The left-wing media, together with the Democrat Party, work in tandem to keep the issue of prejudicial intolerance alive, even going so far as to say that public rejection of a healthcare policy instituted by the first African-American/bi-racial president is rooted in racism. In liberal circles, it’s understood that when Americans reject health care reform, it’s not loss of quality and choice or the threat of rationing or denied benefits that cause a negative public response, it’s purely a melanin issue – just ask racism Geiger counter Chris Matthews.

If increased numbers are a true measure for success and if Newt Gingrich calling Obama “The most successful food stamp president in American history” resulted in Newt being labeled a racist, why wasn’t the liberal female who bombarded Allen West with “coded racially-tinged language” also accused of racism?

Those on the left have redefined a “racist” as any person who disagrees with a black liberal’s policy. If a white American opposes anything Obama says, does, or bumbles – it’s automatically defined as racism.  Remember Jimmy Carter, the Nobel Peace Prize-winning ex-President who simultaneously expressed the opinion and instigated racial tension by saying that those with differing opinions who stand “against Obama have been influenced to a major degree by a belief that he should not be president because he happens to be African American?”

Even black presidential hopeful Herman Cain recognized the absurdity of such a statement when he said: “People who oppose Obama are said to be racists – so I guess I’m a racist.” Yet a similar logic is never extended toward black conservatives when liberal whites oppose their politics, because men like Colonel Allen West and Herman Cain don’t count due to their Uncle Tom status.

It could be that the media ignores slurs directed toward Allen West because according to the left’s standards he’s been spared the same level of mean-spirited racial attacks as those suffered by Barack.

Think of it – West has had zero debate surrounding his place of birth, which was Atlanta Georgia; religion, which is Christian; or missing college transcripts from the University of Tennessee, Kansas State or US Army Command and General Staff Officer College.  Not one single person has mentioned West’s pastor or cast aspersions on his race or background by linking him with radical associates.

Moreover, unlike Obama, thus far Mr. West has avoided bigoted questions surrounding racial hot potatoes like government spending and health care reform.

Nonetheless, the black Florida Congressman did receive a “non-toxic” albeit suspicious “white powder substance” in the mail.  He had his Social Security number disclosed in a Democrat Party “opposition mailer,” and coincidentally managed to settle in a town with the slavery-suggestive name Plantation, Florida, all of which could have been but is yet-to-be interpreted as color-driven bigotry.

One possible reason the issue of race is ignored for some and over-emphasized with others may hinge upon affiliation with Tea Party activists with whom the African American Allen West identifies.  If racist tendencies are determined purely on acceptance or rejection of all things Obama then according to liberals, even disagreeable black politicians can be racists, especially if associated with the Tea Party, which liberals are convinced is one hood short of the Ku Klux Klan.

Allen West, a victim of attacks that would certainly be interpreted as racist if his political persuasion tended left, shared his observations on the subject of media dismissal of what would be deemed racism if it were happening to Barack Obama: “I find it interesting that in all of these instances, the media simply dismissed the incidents. One might wonder – is it open season on a principled black conservative?  I wonder what the reaction would have been if I were a Democrat?”

Truth is, in an effort to take the spotlight off a seething boil called the Obama presidency, the media is gearing up to make race the central issue in the 2012 campaign. The game plan is to brand everyone a racist, including black candidates whose politics don’t align with President Obama’s, while at the same time dismissing what would otherwise be considered offensive if directed toward the President.

For example, on Fox News, liberal talk radio host/ Fox contributor Alan Colmes told Jamie Colby and Republican Tea Party pundit Angela McGlowan that both Herman Cain and Allen West were “Coo-coo for Cocoa Puffs®.” Racist watchdog Colmes never mentioned Sugar Pops® or the diverse multi-colored cereal Trix® and thankfully refrained from adding Count Chocula® to the mix.

Inane silliness aside, if the Obama race-baiting left refuses to discontinue the insanity then the right needs to demand equal time.  For starters, why not stipulate that racially-tinged slurs tying together brown cereal and being cuckoo with black conservatives be publicly acknowledged as racism by those who blindly throw around such baseless allegations.

Moreover, if the left insists on using a bizarre “food-stamp-president” paradigm to identify racists, then references to Cocoa Puffs and allusions to hip-hop mentality should certainly qualify for inclusion in the bigotry blame fest. The bottom line is this: If liberals make rules based on absurd criteria, black conservatives should be willing to help expose their illogic by demanding the left submit to the same standards to determine what is and is not racism that those on the left demand of everyone else.
