‘ORIGINAL’: Sadie Robertson–Dancing With God

sadie-robertson-300x249Originally posted at Clash Daily

The same week that Mrs. Kanye West was so hungry for media attention that she thought it was a good idea to grease up her derriere and expose it to hundreds of millions of people like a freshly baked loaf of challah bread, Duck Dynasty’s Sadie Robertson was preparing for her next appearance on Dancing With the Stars. Sadie spent the week working together with courteous dance partner Mark Ballas, figuring out how to replace what would typically be suggestive dance moves with decorum and age-appropriateness.

Miss Sadie is on a show renowned for sexy dance moves, twitching butts, hair flinging, and sensuous interaction between dance partners. At times, Dancing with the Stars can make even the most avid double-step pasodoble fan blush and look away from the TV screen.

However, Sadie’s presence on the show has made a bold statement on how unnecessary some of the popular dance show’s suggestiveness is. And as an added benefit, the Duck Dynasty sweetheart is also providing a stark contrast to the likes of Kim Kardashian’s 19 year-old half-sister Kendall Jenner and others like her, all of whom are the antithesis of everything the young Robertson represents.

Sadie Robertson is 17 years-old and epitomizes what a fresh-faced lass should be: lovely, vivacious, talented, and unabashed in her expression of love for God and her desire first and foremost to please Him.

At five years-old, Sadie was nicknamed “the Original” by her dad, Duck Commander CEO Willie Robertson. Sadie even titled her first book Live Original: How the Duck Dynasty Teen Keeps it Real and Stays True to Her Values. The deep-dimpled A&E star explains that the word “Original” in this case “means being the person who God made you to be and not trying to be anybody else.”

In other words, there’s no chance Sadie will ever emulate a Beyoncé pelvic thrust, or be caught lusting after Justin Bieber.

In fact, lights, glamour, and celebrity have not changed this girl in the slightest. Instead, Steadfast Sadie is committed to the philosophy of God and family. Seems Sadie takes after Grandpa Phil, a controversial figure who is unflinching in his adherence to the Word of God and his devotion to truth. Similarly, Miss Robertson adamantly insists on wearing modest costumes on the show, makes it clear when she’s uncomfortable with a dance move, and publicly references her relationship with God with forthrightness and pride.

On the “daddy-approved” costume issue, Sadie had this to say: “That annoys me when people say they’re ‘daddy-approved.’ It’s not that it’s a rule, it’s just out of respect – not just for my dad, but God.”

Imagine that — notwithstanding the opinion of her parents, Sadie is concerned with respecting God.

Back home in Louisiana Sadie keeps in touch with her 18 year-old churchgoing boyfriend Blake Coward, who agrees that sex is for marriage and who she says “is a great guy who really has a heart searching for God.” Miss Robertson doesn’t describe Blake as hot or mention his fashion sense or his hairstyle, because for Sadie, Blake’s kindness and having a heart for God is what impresses her.

What’s also surprising is the deference and respect Sadie receives from her dance partner Mark Ballas. In addition to Mark’s concern to not put Sadie in a position she’d feel uncomfortable with, the DWTS judges have repeatedly commended the teen for how her outstanding ability on the dance floor has never once compromised her strong religious convictions.

Recently, Sadie mentioned in an interview in the Boston Herald that “When I was little, I would pray and ask God to give me opportunities and a platform to be able to share my faith…I would never have imagined it would be this, but it’s been incredible.”

What’s incredible is a child’s being as bold as a lion in her faith and utterly unshakable in her devotion to what is right.

Clearly the Lord is using this young girl to make a statement about chastity, purity, and innocence, and in a world of what Sadie calls “hoochie mamas”, this 17 year-old is a rare and priceless gem to behold. Whether TV viewers realize it or not, God is sending a message to America by juxtaposing Sadie’s light against the dark idolatry and over-sexualized culture American children marinate in.

Face it – America is a nation inundated with Miley Cyruses and young divas like Kendall Jenner, who at 19 years-old lives in her own $1.4 million LA high-rise condo. Kendall, like half-sister Kim Kardashian, publicly bares her nipples on behalf of “fashion,” and as a beverage choice sips bubbly with Hollywood types and rock stars. And then there are the unsupervised, confused celebrity teenagers like Willow and Jaden Smith who, rather than glorify God, espouse Prana energy and “imprinting oneself on everything in this world.”

And then there is the rare and inspirational girl named Sadie twirling and pirouetting on Dancing with the Stars. This well-adjusted, family-oriented kid simply refuses to compromise her principles, respects herself enough to maintain her virginity, and is showing a jaded nation what a happy 17 year-old girl with a pure heart and a wholesome attitude really looks like.

HE’S BACK! Phil Robertson Calls Out the Legislation of Perversion

phil-robertson-300x180Originally posted at Clash Daily

In America of late, legislating morality is a big no-no. How dare the law impose antiquated religious standards of morality on a society where individuals get to decide what’s acceptable for them based on personal perceptions of right and wrong?

Well, once again provocative Duck Dynasty patriarch Phil Robertson has blown a politically incorrect hole right through “legislating morality” hypocrisy by pointing out that immorality is authorized because abortion is legal.

Unabashed when expressing his Biblical beliefs, church elder Robertson again took to the pulpit at the White’s Ferry Road Church in West Monroe, Louisiana. It was there that Robertson accused America of being a nation that refuses to acknowledge what God defines as sin. Preacher Phil expressed the opinion that, contrary to what they say, aborting 55 million human beings indicates that the politically correct crowd’s support for legalized abortion is indeed legislating a perverse form of morality.

Refusing to shrink away from controversy, Phil has already suffered public criticism after A&E suspended the reality TV star indefinitely after he expressed an unpopular view on homosexuality in a December 2013 GQ article where he quoted from 1 Corinthians 6:9-10, which says:

Don’t be deceived. Neither the adulterers, the idolaters, the male prostitutes, the homosexual offenders, the greedy, the drunkards, the slanderers, the swindlers—they won’t inherit the kingdom of God. Don’t deceive yourself. It’s not right.

Lest we forget, this is America, and in America no one gets to dictate right or wrong to anyone anymore, especially some backwoods duck whistle maker dressed in green camouflage who purports to speak for a God many believe doesn’t exist.

Nonetheless, in response to a public outcry that accused A&E, the liberal media, and the LGBT community of quashing free speech, Phil was reinstated after 10 days.

The A&E suspension has not deterred the Duck Dynasty star from continuing to address the Godless world we live in – a world steeped in the idolatry, adultery, sexual immorality, thievery, greed and every other corrupt thing 1st Corinthians clearly warns about.

Now, despite the threat of being viewed as a religious fanatic again, Robertson has chosen to tie the cultural bane of political correctness to secular society’s unwillingness to address evil. In a recent sermon, the White’s Ferry Road Church elder explained how Webster’s dictionary depicts PC thinking and the effect that sort of thinking has had on societal dissolution.

Phil explains:

Noah Webster’s heirs at least were not kind to political correctness. Political correctness is usually used disparagingly to connote dogmatism – this way or the highway, you either gonna agree with us, yeah, we’re hollering tolerance but we’re only tolerant of anyone who agrees with us. They connote dogmatism, the excessive sensitivity to minority causes. It just goes on and on.

Submitting to the calling of being a modern day voice crying out in the wilderness, Robertson then tied dogmatic, intolerant political correctness to those who reject legislating morality by aptly pointing out that the legal slaughter of 55 million fetuses in their mothers’ wombs is, in actuality, the legislating of morality.

Phil Robertson censured our government, saying, “We legislate murder. That’s what abortion is…we’re legislating perversion.”

As unpopular an opinion as that might be, Phil reminded the congregation: “You have God’s law that says, ‘don’t shed innocent blood, don’t murder.’ So our government says no, we’re gonna’ trump that: you can kill them. And half of our country said we’re going with the government instead of God.”

“What do you call that, aborting human beings in their mother’s womb?” Phil asked.

He then answered his own question, saying, “It’s sin.” Then Robertson queried and answered himself a second time by saying “What do you call perversion, Phil? And we’re legislating it? The politically correct crowd, we just took their opinion.  We call it sin. God says it is sin. All scripture is God’s.”

Acknowledging that the crowd he’s referring to bristles when he speaks his mind, Phil said “I give [politically correct people] a Bible verse and they scream and holler.”

Standing with those who, down through the ages, have boldly spoken God’s truth, in defense of his decision to do so Phil pointed out that although the politically correct people are “mad” at him, he’s just “quoting what the apostle Paul said.”

So, according to Phil, and rightly so, those who criticize him for repeating what the Apostle Paul said should be mad at Paul and ultimately God, from whom came the words spoken by both Paul and Phil.

Like it or not, just as it says in Hebrews 4:12, Phil Robertson fearlessly wields the Word of God like a sword, “For the Word of God is alive and active. Sharper than any double-edged sword, it penetrates even to dividing soul and spirit, joints and marrow; it judges the thoughts and attitudes of the heart.”

By brandishing that weapon so adeptly, Phil Robertson has exposed the hypocrisy of a politically correct mentality that says legislating morality is anathema, but then supports legislating morality by placing their corporate approbation on the perverse but legal slaughter of 55 million unborn babies.

Duck Dynasty Critics are Ducking Up

The ‘Ducks’ are back and thank God they are.  That’s right – How Much Does Neurontin Cost On The Street Duck Dynasty  Season 5 has finally premiered and squirrel-brain-eating Phil, Willie, Jase, Jep, Uncle Si and the camouflage gear, as well as fidelity, faith, family, and the type of common decency sorely lacking in today’s culture are back in America’s living room.

However, the day after the premiere there were those who seemed a bit giddy with vindictive joy based on the viewership numbers that were being interpreted to mean that go site Duck Dynasty was being penalized by America for its unwavering refusal to submit to secular pressure.

go here Variety reported that the season 5 debut had a smaller audience than season 4 and that the “A&E juggernaut returned… less than a month after a firestorm of controversy engulfed the show…to strong but far from record-breaking ratings.”

Rick Kissell of Viagra Original Online Kaufen Variety had this to say:

Duck Dynasty exploded when it kicked off its fourth season last August, with its 11.8 million total viewers the largest audience for a nonfiction series telecast in cable history. The show about a Louisiana family also set an A&E record as the biggest telecast in the network’s history in all key demos.

It went on to average 9.15 million same-night viewers for its summer episodes.

Kissell’s insinuation was that although 8.5 million viewers tuned in for the new season’s first show (that’s right, 8.5 million), Phil’s comments about homosexuality may have caused viewers to be turned off to the popular cable reality show.

Based on the gay news outlet Advocate.com, Variety wasn’t the only predictor of woe.

From the tone of an article entitled “Duck Dynasty Ratings Plummet: The A & E reality series saw its ratings fly south for the winter after the show’s season 5 premiere,” One would thing that it was “all over but the shouting,” and that Phil’s supposed homophobia had ushered in a Robertson family “plummet.”

Jase Peeples of the Advocate wrote this?

The reality series saw a significant drop in ratings after A&E aired the premiere episode of the show’s fifth season on January 15. Some 8.5 million viewers tuned in to follow the flock’s latest adventures – a 28 percent nosedive from the record 12 million who quacked for the show’s season 4 debut.

Apparently indulging in some wishful thinking, Peeples ended his bad-news-for-the-Ducks column by saying, “Duck season may have just kicked off on A&E, but if the new season’s ratings continue to slide, we could be witnessing the beginning of this dynasty’s end.”

One can only surmise that the liberal media was secretly hoping that Phil Robertson would be publicly humiliated for his beliefs and that liberal, gay, promiscuous America would be vindicated for its immorality by seeing http://whoisnickasmith.com/?medz=How-To-Wean-Off-Seroquel-Safely&c29=c2 Duck Dynasty permanently banished along with racist chef Paula Deen, who’s already taken up permanent residence in the cable TV woodshed.

Dire Levitra 20 Mg Price Walgreens Duck predictions aside, based on their best numbers being anywhere from seven- to six million fewer than A&E’s http://bluffcreektri.com/?medz=Stop-And-Shop-Claritin&640=94 Duck Dynasty on its worst day, an HBO heavy hitter would probably be thrilled to have 8.5 million season debut viewers.

Unfortunately for them, and fortunately for everyone else, they never do.

Instead, the station that entertains viewers with beheadings, full frontal nudity, promiscuity, and all-around vulgarity is considered a leader in successful cable series.

Take for instance the “hit” show http://brigittadau.com/?online=Multaq-Viagra-Online&f8e=74 Girls, starring director, writer, and creator Lena ‘First Time’ Dunham.  For the source Girls’ third season debut, 1.1 million viewers dying to see “overtly sexualized” Lena, the daughter of an artist who creates “overtly sexualized pop art,” tuned in to watch.

Twenty-something tattooed Lena Dunham, the woman who puts the ‘Ruben’ in rubenesque‎, has even subjected her audience to watching her play Ping-Pong in the nude, which apparently is considered acceptable in hip and trendy circles, but is certainly more offensive to most than Phil Robertson citing Scripture to substantiate traditional beliefs.

It’s not surprising that Evista Price Online Girls’ viewers were so thrilled with the recent premiere that for the second episode, 219,000 of Lena’s fans, about 20% of the 1.1 million initially interested in watching a chunky girl with OCD eat Doritos and fornicate, decided to watch something else.

As for other HBO premieres, the same holds true for the highly-touted, violent, sex-laden prohibition era/Steve Buscemi hit show Boardwalk Empire, which premiered in 2010 with 4.8 million viewers. The other sex-saturated, blood-soaked, HBO debauch-fest, the fantasy drama Game of Thrones, debuted in 2011 with a rousing 2.2 million viewers, which is also a far cry from the 8.5 million viewers that tuned in on a Wednesday night to watch the premiere of Duck Dynasty.

In the wake of the Phil Robertson GQ controversy, the entertainment media, the gay lobby, and Hollywood will likely band together to try to elevate hit shows that feature story lines and characters whose focus is quite the opposite of the wholesome, family-oriented Duck Dynasty, with its supposedly paltry 8.5 million viewers.

The truth is that half of America is comprised of people who were not offended by Phil Robertson’s beliefs and in fact agree with what he said, and most assuredly support his right to say it. The reason Duck Dynasty is reviled by liberals is because much to the left’s chagrin, by and large America is a nation that appreciates seeing a family love one another and hearing them close their show with a moral message being summed up with a prayer.

Phil Robertson’s Detractors Advance His Message

Phil RobertsonOriginally posted at American Thinker

For days now, the nation has been subjected to hearing gay activists, atheists, hypersensitive liberals, and First Amendment rights-defenders engaging in biblical eisegesis.  The histrionics began when Duck Dynasty patriarch Phil Robertson was quoted in a GQ interview where, in defense of his biblically based anti-homosexual-lifestyle views, he loosely cited 1 Corinthians 6:9-10:

Don’t be deceived. Neither the adulterers, the idolaters, the male prostitutes, the homosexual offenders, the greedy, the drunkards, the slanderers, the swindlers — they won’t inherit the kingdom of God. Don’t deceive yourself. It’s not right.

Unabashed in his enthusiasm about the saving power of Jesus Christ and his denunciation of the sinful life he openly admits he was delivered from, when explaining why he rejects the gay lifestyle, Papa Robertson also referred to female and male body parts as if he were reading out of a public school edition of Human Sexuality for Fifth-Graders.  Hearing the words “vagina” and “anus” caused quite a stir with the set that approves of live sex shows being part of a college curriculum.

Liberals who are determined to force kindergartners to use clinical terms for genitalia are now saying Phil Robertson’s comments were crude.  Aren’t these the same individuals who love to hand out Planned Parenthood pamphlets with a section that gives kids detailed instructions on how to masturbate?

Yes they are!  And now it’s the masturbation enthusiasts who are dipping their toes into the biblical interpretation waters and expounding upon their hollow theological insights.

Liberals interpret both the Bible and the U.S. Constitution similarly.  Generally they reject both, but they are the first to expose their ignorance when opining on how those who do believe in both the Scripture and our founding documents err in the proper understanding.

Now, in the aftermath of the Duck Dynasty controversy, disapproving unbelievers and biblical know-nothings are elevating themselves to the seat of authority and, on behalf of the gay community, are determined to iron the insensitive wrinkles out of the Scripture.

On the supposedly more conservative end of the spectrum, you have “Christian” pundits like Bill O’Reilly questioning whether Phil Robertson took it too far when he quoted the Word of God, which, Bill is well aware, condemns all sin, including homosexuality, bestiality, fornication, and adultery.

As an unapologetic Christian Bible-thumper myself, it initially disturbed me to hear Scripture being analyzed by people like gay Democrat pollster Bernard Whitman, who attempted to use the Bible to bludgeon a man I consider a brother in Christ.  What Whitman and others like him fail to realize is that their criticism actually helps Phil Robertson further his message.

In the 55th chapter of the book of Isaiah, verses 10 and 11, the Lord informed the prophet that:

As the rain and the snow come down from heaven, and do not return to it without watering the earth and making it bud and flourish, so that it yields seed for the sower and bread for the eater, so is my word that goes out from my mouth: It will not return to me empty, but will accomplish what I desire and achieve the purpose for which I sent it.

Secular eisegetes are oblivious to the fact that their level of belief or lack thereof does not impact the intrinsic power of God’s Word to accomplish its purposes!

The more time the left spends vocally ruminating over what Phil Robertson said, the more the Word of God, which never comes back void, goes forth and impacts lost and hurting lives.  A&E and GLAAD may not realize it, but thanks to mutual religious intolerance, they’ve assisted Phil Robertson in getting out the message that he was originally denounced for expressing.  Let’s not forget — as with Balaam, if God has something to say, He will get a donkey to say it.  And at present the message being sent clearly condemns homosexuality, but with it also comes the hope of God’s unconditional love and forgiveness, and the free gift of salvation.

One can’t help but compare the modern-day predicament of Phil Robertson — unruffled by the furor, firm in his faith, and unwavering in his commitment to Christ — to that of the Apostle Paul.

When Paul wrote to the Philippians, he was imprisoned.  The overriding theme of Paul’s letter was that despite his captivity, his evangelistic work had not been hindered.  Instead, those who tried to thwart the spread of the Gospel unwittingly helped hasten its propagation.

For personal gain, phony preachers questioned Paul’s good character.  Paul was unmoved.  Imprisoned in a jail cell, the writer of the epistle ignored the allegations and focused on and rejoiced in what was of utmost importance to him: the advancement of the Gospel.

In like manner, as an unintended consequence of Phil Robertson’s comments, while the patriarch of Duck Dynasty remains unyielding, unlikely suspects on the left are successfully moving forward the very message that they themselves find objectionable.

Just as it is now for Phil Robertson, it was for Paul of Tarsus nearly 2,000 years ago when he wrote these words to the Philippians: “But what does it matter?  The important thing is that in every way, whether from false motives or true, Christ is preached.”  And because truth is eternal, all Christians should join together with “Happy Happy Happy” Phil Robertson and rejoice.

Duck Dynasty Calls Attention to a Dangerous Time in America

Phil RobertsonOriginally posted at The Blacksphere

So Phil Robertson, patriarch of the Duck Dynasty, was put on hiatus from A&E after a GQ reporter revealed that Phil had dared to exercise his First Amendment right to free speech and religion.

Robertson, who is anything but bitter and is unapologetic about clinging to ‘guns and religion,’ spent the lion’s share of the interview expressing his views on God and His creation, sin, repentance, and preaching the Gospel of Jesus Christ.

Drew Magary, the author of the GQ article entitled “What the Duck?” rode with Phil in a camouflage-colored ATV to a hunting destination where no-nonsense Phil interpreted being with one of the boys as being free to partake of guy-talk.

At one point, Phil, the man who ends each Duck Dynasty episode leading a prayer while sitting at the head of a huge family table, had this to say about homosexuality:

It seems like, to me, a vagina – as a man – would be more desirable than a man’s anus. That’s just me. I’m just thinking: There’s more there! She’s got more to offer. I mean, come on, dudes! You know what I’m saying? But hey, sin: It’s not logical, my man. It’s just not logical.

Besides being brutally honest, Phil thought he was free to share with the “dudes” his personal preference, and what he feels are the biological logistics of the sex act based on his observations in nature. Boy, was he wrong.

Later on, after discussing his views on repentance and mentioning that if the “human race loved each other and loved God they’d be better off,” Magary asked Phil, “What in your mind is sinful?” Phil replied, “Start with homosexual behavior and just morph out from there. Bestiality, sleeping around with this woman and that woman and that woman and those men.”

Clearly Phil Robertson was answering the question and sharing how, in his “Bible thumping” mind, he defines sin, and referenced Scripture to make his case. The Duck Commander big guy lumped adultery, homosexuality, and fornication into one group, then loosely quoted 1 Corinthians 6:9-10 to support his point of view:

Don’t be deceived. Neither the adulterers, the idolaters, the male prostitutes, the homosexual offenders, the greedy, the drunkards, the slanderers, the swindlers—they won’t inherit the kingdom of God. Don’t deceive yourself. It’s not right.

Now, after answering a question honestly and speaking his mind and sharing his faith, the A&E show has kowtowed to GLAAD and an outraged gay community by banning Phil and his duck whistle from appearing on a show that draws 14 million viewers per episode.

What’s striking about the controversy is that there is no doubt that America has devolved into a nation where a woman like Sandra Fluke can go to Capitol Hill and claim that birth control can cost a law student $3,000 per year, beg for the Catholic Church to be forced to ensure free contraceptives and abortion for promiscuous women working and studying in Catholic institutions.

And in so doing, she will earn a congratulatory phone call from the president and sainthood status on the left.

Then, a plainspoken man with a traditional view of life and sexuality is asked a question during an interview, answers candidly, and ends up being called a homophobe, labeled a false Christian by those who typically mock and reject Christianity. And, to top it all off, ends up being indefinitely suspended from a successful TV show merely for sharing his opinion.

It means nothing to the tar-and-feather brigade that Phil followed up his statements on sin by stressing that God does the judging and that as a Christian he’s called to “just love ’em, give ’em the good news about Jesus—whether they’re homosexuals, drunks, terrorists.”

In essence, Phil Robertson’s vilification is a prime example of a nation that no longer protects the right to say what we think. Step outside the politically correct line, or dare to disagree with the gay lifestyle, and the Ministry of Proper Words and Thoughts will make a public example of you.

Phil’s possible dismissal from the Duck Dynasty television show isn’t really about whether the gay lifestyle is right or wrong, it’s about Americans of differing views no longer being allowed to express themselves. Especially if the sentiments reflect a literal interpretation of the Bible.

What happened to Phil is a little bit about Phil, but mostly about a trend in America that forces military chaplains to put away their Bibles. It’s about the word “Christmas” being eradicated from the public square. And it’s about the name Jesus being viewed as incendiary and divisive, and sodomy and lasciviousness being elevated and admired.

But mainly it’s about the First Amendment of the Constitution being controlled by liberal activists who advocate alternative lifestyles with the same evangelical fervor and outspoken pride that Phil Robertson is currently being denied when expressing his faith.

It’s a dangerous time in America when a good and Godly man like Phil is treated with such derision.

A message is being sent that the liberal left’s definition of what’s acceptable and what’s not acceptable to say takes precedence over the Word of God and the US Constitution.

Topsy Turvy America: Wholesomeness Banned and Debauchery Applauded

If America has any question whether or not our nation is in a moral and spiritual death spiral think about this:  Phil Robertson of Duck Dynasty has been publicly chastised for exercising his First Amendment right to express his opinion and his faith.

Meanwhile, a group of gay men clad only in Santa Claus hats, reindeer ears, and tight boxer shorts which, by the way, provide a disturbing outline of their junk, shill for Obamacare and it is viewed as adorable.

With debauchery the new norm, and to placate the debauched, a major cable news network spanked a godly man for nothing more than his unvarnished honesty and adherence to traditional Biblical principles.

Sodom and Gomorrah was destroyed for less!

What does it say about where we are as a nation when a man that sits at the head of a family table, bows his head and thanks God for His bounty, His blessings, and for the love of his family is viewed as hateful?

Especially when, 180-degrees in the other direction, with blatant sexual innuendo, gay OUT2Enroll elves jingling their bells encourage the LGBT community to sign up for Obamacare and it’s viewed as a holly-jolly public service announcement.

The homosexual community is outraged that a man with strong beliefs, similar in intensity to theirs, comes out, as they have, and expresses his opinion, like they do. Why isn’t his religious fervor and zeal for what he believes not given the same respect as the fervor and zeal of those who proudly announce the glories of having nontraditional sexual preferences?

Regardless of who you are, gay or straight, and whether you agree with Phil Robertson, or the gay elves dancing around in the tight underwear and candy cane striped knee highs, every American should be chilled to the bone.

When an American citizen is deprived their  First Amendment right to free speech and religion, and liberals become the interpreters of the Bible and US Constitution.

Sober reflection is in order because, like it or not, all of our freedoms are in dangerously close to being taken away.

Duck Dynasty Happy Patriarch Makes GLAAD Mad

Duck DynastyOriginally posted at The Blacksphere

Phil Robertson, currently on extended hiatus from A&E’s Duck Dynasty is my kind of guy!

Phil tells it like it is. He’s uncompromising in his convictions, unashamed of his faith in Jesus Christ, and he speaks in a way most people, whether they want to admit it or not, secretly agree with.

Although wealthy, Phil is unimpressed with luxury and generally disinterested in the trappings of fame or riches.  Mr. Robertson worships his God, adores his wife, and loves his family and his country. Once, when Phil was asked about health care, this is the God-centered, no-nonsense answer he gave:

Temporary is all you’re going to get with any kind of health care, except the health care I’m telling you about. That’s eternal health care, and it’s free…. I’ve opted to go with eternal health care instead of blowing money on these insurance schemes.

This is a man who hunts in the Louisiana backwater, eats squirrel brains, skins catfish, views the world of nature through the eyes of a Bible-thumper, and is not shy about saying that, if he had a choice, he’d rather not take his giggling granddaughters fishing.

So when the quiet man behind the scraggily beard speaks, after listening to the Teleprompter Thespian with zero core convictions promoting lies for five years, Phil Robertson is a breath of fresh air.

Just days ago Phil made it clear he’d rather go duck hunting than spend the afternoon being interviewed by an elderly liberal. GQ, taking a wiser tack, sent their writer to Louisiana to shadow the Robertsons for the story.

In the GQ interview, Phil, speaking of God, morals and repentance, had this to say about homosexuality:

It seems like, to me, a vagina – as a man – would be more desirable than a man’s anus. That’s just me. I’m just thinking: There’s more there! She’s got more to offer. I mean, come on, dudes! You know what I’m saying? But hey, sin: It’s not logical, my man. It’s just not logical.

Logic is the key word.  Phil was just explaining logistics to the “dudes” and expressing his own personal preference.

In the article entitled What the Duck? common-sense Phil also expressed his opinion on “Bestiality, sleeping around with this woman and that woman and that woman and those men,” as well as why great societies that turn their back on God eventually destroy themselves from within.

A sinner saved by grace and a “product of the…drug, sex and rock and roll 60’s,” Phil insists that he leaves the judging of sin to Almighty God and considers it his job to just love people and preach the Gospel.

Yet despite his respect for all living things, it was inevitable that Robertson’s honesty would not be well-received by the liberal, gay-loving side of America. And lo and behold: the ink was barely dry on Phil’s interview when GLAAD condemned Robertson straightaway, calling his sentiments “vile.”  In response, A&E promptly curtsied to the gay community and placed Phil on hiatus for an undetermined amount of time.

GLAAD spokesperson Wilson Cruz reacted to the Phil Robertson interview in a statement saying: “Phil and his family claim to be Christian, but Phil’s lies about an entire community fly in the face of what true Christians believe.”

Give it a few more hours. Cruz will be followed by Chaz Bono’s Mom Cher, who will be defending her daughter…I mean son by tweeting multitudinous expletives on Twitter.

Mr. Cruz’s retort proves that he has no idea what “true Christians” believe, and if he spent less time trying to twist Scripture and more time reading and living it, he’d understand where the Biblical foundation for Phil’s beliefs comes from.

In typical liberal style, Cruz called on A&E to shut Phil Robertson up and A&E complied. After all, this is America, and how dare a person who disagrees with the homosexual lifestyle express his view with the same passion and religious zeal that the LGBT community incessantly expresses theirs?

Wilson Cruz, doing what Phil Robertson professes not to do, which is to judge, ranted on:  “[Phil] clearly knows nothing about gay people or the majority of Louisianans.”

I must have missed something – when did Phil say anything about the majority of Louisianans?  What Phil said seemed more like an observation than a condemnation.

Nevertheless, the GLAAD spokesperson’s response was more mad than it was glad, and although Duck Dynasty has a committed audience of 14 million viewers per show, Mr. Cruz is firmly convinced that most Americans “support legal recognition for loving and committed gay and lesbian couples” and will therefore be appalled by Mr. Robertson speaking the truth.  With Phil Robertson missing from the head of the table, that remains to be seen.

The reason Wilson Cruz felt that A&E had to “reexamine their ties to someone with such public disdain for LGBT people and families” is because Phil said that as a man, to him a vagina is just more appealing.

Cruz’s argument is that a heterosexual male admitting that he is attracted to the opposite sex cultivates “vile and extreme stereotypes.” “Vile and extreme stereotypes” of who? Men who already admit they prefer male anuses to female vaginas, and women who proudly declare they prefer female vaginas to male penises?

Despite the uproar and Phil’s subsequent firing, something even more eye-opening than what Phil’s comments. GLAAD and A&E have revealed who they are by suggesting Phil Robertson had no right to exercise his First Amendment right by proclaiming his sexual preference and religious beliefs.

The plainspoken patriarch of the Duck Commander has already proven that he answers to no one but a higher power and will not be intimidated by radical activists with unconventional sexual predilections.

Moreover, Phil Robertson is not about to change his view of the world just to placate mad GLAADS or rattled A&E executives.

The Duck Dynasty big guy will continue to practice what he preaches, will continue to look for any opportunity to proclaim the Good News of Jesus Christ, and will never let concern over controversy cut into his duck-hunting time.

Will Obama Blame the Duck Dynasty Next?

Duck Dynasty - A&EOriginally posted at The Blacksphere

Abysmal failure Barack Obama is nervously rooting around to find someone to blame for the disaster he’s created and for the roadblocks preventing him from wreaking additional havoc on America.

The president is impugning the Republicans as well as radio talk show host Rush Limbaugh, but maybe he should blame the Robertsons of Duck Dynasty.

As President Obama’s poll numbers have plummeted to a point where only 47% of those low-information likely voters still approve of his job performance, an A&E cable reality show featuring a close knit-family of God-fearing, pro-life, gun-toting, beard-sporting, patriotic entrepreneurs from the backwoods of bayou Louisiana is growing in popularity weekly.

Much to Barack Obama’s chagrin, the Robertson family’s God-and-country values evidently appeal to the nearly 11.8 million viewers who tune in.  That’s why a show that embraces everything Barack Obama rejects, and personifies everything he spurns, is poised to make cable history.

The fact that a family from West Monroe, Louisiana, is gaining more and more recognition proves that besides their “guns and religion,” Obama’s vision and values are not the same vision and values most Americans cling to.

Phil Robertson, patriarch of Duck Dynasty, was a college football star that turned down an offer from the Washington Redskins because it interfered with duck season.  Phil went on to build a mom-and-pop business and called it the Duck Commander.

Then, after Phil’s son Willie graduated from business school, he helped his father turn Duck Commander into a multimillion-dollar operation.  As a result, the Duck Commander now employs half the Robertson’s neighborhood.

That kind of selfish, self-centered, small-business-owner attitude is exactly the type of behavior the president has attempted to discourage for the past five years.

What could be worse for Barack Obama than a family who’s made a fortune selling duck calls fashioned out of salvaged swamp cedar wood somehow managing to capture the level of attention that Obama himself craves?

To make matters worse, his rivals are prayerful, bullfrog-eating, deer-hunting men with ZZ Top beards, pickup trucks, and red, white, and blue bandannas.

The president probably doesn’t realize it just yet, but without ever mentioning Barack Obama’s name, Duck Dynasty American dream hijinks have subtly exposed his liberal drivel for what it is: drivel.

Yet President Obama, who actually tells people that he still “got some game,” continues to perceive himself as the patriarch of his own dynasty.

When not adjusting his newspaper crown he remains very busy pushing a healthcare system no one wants, demanding Americans’ tax dollars pay for abortions most of them reject, and running around the country like a hyperactive schoolboy. Obama remains indefatigable in trying to convince a nation who disapproves of almost everything he does, that progressive liberalism is the way to go.

One would imagine that if Press Secretary/Presidential Propagandist Jay Carney were asked what the President thinks about the Duck Dynasty phenomenon, Carney would likely say the President hasn’t watched the show.  And why would he?  The Robertsons’ redneck rags-to-riches story illustrates the totality of everything Barack Obama has tried to either destroy or demonize.

Rest assured, if the president’s popularity continues to wane expect Obama – much like he did with Rush Limbaugh – to try to point the finger of blame at Duck Dynasty and their rebellious audience for encouraging the Republicans in Congress to thwart his plans to move America “FORWARD.”
