Amnesty for Ebola

UnknownOriginally posted at American Thinker

Recently, Time magazine published an article entitled “Ebola Just the Latest Hardship for Liberian Patient in the U.S.” The piece seemed to be written with the intent to elicit sympathy for a man who, in his quest to survive, illegally infiltrated a nation carrying a highly contagious hemorrhagic virus.

But then again, it’s really not entirely Thomas Eric Duncan’s fault. After all, Barack Obama has been broadcasting the message to the world that even if our Border Agents contract bacterial pneumonia and our schoolchildren are paralyzed and placed on breathing tubes, granting sick illegals access to America takes precedence over the safety and well-being of the people he vowed to protect.

Think of it! America may be on the precipice of a pandemic that could kill 50% of the world’s population and Barack Obama decides now is the time to announce that he’s clearing the way for refugee status visas for 70,000 more people, many of whom will undoubtedly be infected with viruses and pathogens foreign to American soil.

In Third World countries, rushing to America in time for amnesty is all the rage right now. If Time magazine is correct, Duncan was apparently planning to meet up with an illegal family already here.

Jay Newton-Small, the author of the Time article, says:

For Thomas Eric Duncan, the visa to visit his family in the United States was a golden reprieve: a chance to escape the poverty and sickness surrounding him in the Liberian capital of Monrovia… and a chance, maybe, to stay on and build a better, safer life.

Attempting to portray Duncan as a Good Samaritan, Small writes that, according to the New York Times, Duncan caught Ebola:

[h]elping carry a heavily pregnant neighbor back from the hospital where she was turned away from the overflowing Ebola ward. The 19-year-old girl died that night, early on Sept. 16. Her 21-year-old brother, who also helped carry her, died a week later in an ambulance on the way to the hospital.

Although touching, for some reason, immediately following his good deed Duncan decided to come to the U.S., so he lied on a Liberian exit form by denying that he had had contact with Ebola. Then the humanitarian do-gooder climbed aboard a United Airlines flight and after a few stops ended up in Dallas, Texas, where he proceeded to infect upwards of 100 people, including school-age children.

Thus far, Barack Obama, who scared the wits out of America in October 2009 over the H1N1 flu, has not uttered one word about Duncan’s escapades or acknowledged that the Enterovirus 68, which is endemic to Latin America, may be at the root of an outbreak here that has taken the life of a 10-year-old Providence, Rhode Island girl as well as three adults.

Meanwhile, clownish Obama administration representatives attempt to quell public fears by reassuring the nation that the same government that can’t find Lois Lerner’s emails is fully equipped to track down and corral anyone who came in contact with Thomas Eric Duncan.

As for Mr. Duncan, the virus is out of the bag, so to speak. Still, the Liberian government — which refuses to discontinue flights out of Liberia — and the Dallas district attorney are both threatening to prosecute Mr. Duncan for endangering the lives of so many people, including hospital staff who sent him home with antibiotics a few days before he was diagnosed with Ebola and quarantined.

Meanwhile, questions remain as to how a poverty-stricken, unemployed war refugee obtained a visa so quickly, and what kind of visa he actually possessed.

Soon after a visit from his sister, on September 4th “Eric” abruptly quit his job as a driver for Safeway Cargo, the Liberian customs clearance agent for FedEx.  That’s why it’s pretty clear that sister Mai Wureh, a nurse from Charlotte, N.C., convinced her frightened brother that the time was right to come to America, and provided him the money he needed for the voyage.

Why die in a puddle of your own blood and vomit outside a tin shack/hospital in Monrovia when the United States will take you in and provide for all your needs, including giving you a whole ward in a hospital in Dallas, Texas?

So, Thomas Eric Duncan signed on to the Obama Amnesty Plan.  The OAP exclusive package is compliments of the president and features illegal immigrants — sick, healthy, whatever — being waved, beckoned, flown, or bused across the border and are then matched up with family members just in time for amnesty.

Never mind the threat to 300 million people. If Thomas Eric Duncan somehow manages to survive, which looks iffy right now, despite his bringing Ebola into the U.S., Barack Obama has promised the Liberian refugee that ‘No Force On Earth’ will stop him from becoming an American citizen.

The Border Busting Right to Citizenship

Former Secretary of Homeland Security and Border Czar, Janet Napolitanois on her way to Sochi with Billie Jean King.

Supposedly Janet has earned the right to lead a group of American delegates to Russia to irritate Vladimir Putin, who would rather people of her purported ilk skip the Winter Games altogether.

And while Ms. Napolitano jets off to the Olympic games, the man who replaced Ms. Napolitano, Jeh Johnson, is wasting no time ‘representing’ yet another group.

Seems Ms. Napolitano’s replacement hasn’t heard about Vladislav Miftakhov, the Russian national attending Penn State who was found in Pennsylvania with WMD.

Instead, while speaking at the United States Conference of Mayors, Johnson, the person who’s supposed to be watching out for the ‘homeland’s security,’ said that he believed the lowball figure of 11 million of Miftakho’s illegal friends, none of whom he knows anything about, have “earned the right to be citizens.”

In one of his first public speeches since being confirmed in December, Jeh told the 270+ mayors that enforcing immigration law was one of the main missions of DHS.

According to Johnson:

“The five core missions of the Department of Homeland Security are guarding against terrorism, securing our borders, enforcing our nation’s immigration laws, safeguarding cyberspace and critical infrastructure in partnership with the private sector, and supporting emergency preparedness and response efforts at every level.”

Johnson is clearly confused, because “guarding against terrorism, securing our borders, enforcing our nation’s immigration laws” does not jibe on any level with an earned path to citizenship for those currently residing in this country illegally and the DHS beckoning lawbreakers to “come out of the shadows.”

Johnson also said:

It is also, frankly, in my judgment, a matter of who we are as Americans to offer the opportunity to those who want to be citizens, who’ve earned the right to be citizens, who are present in this country–many of whom came here as children–to have the opportunity that we all have to try to become American citizens.

Concluding his bizarre and dangerous remarks, Secretary Johnson called for “comprehensive, common sense, immigration reform.”

And even though the illegals that Jeh feels earn citizenship are streaming over the border in droves every day, he actually had the nerve to tout increased border security.

Maybe, on a break from giving speeches to likeminded socialist types like newly-elected Bill ‘National Urban Consensus’ de Blasio, the Secretary of DHS should read the US Border Control Mission Statement.

Isn’t Johnson aware of the dangers posed by illegal aliens hiding in the shadows who have infiltrated our cities and who daily threaten the wellbeing of our people?  Wouldn’t it be logical to assume that if an illegal immigrant feels free to disregard US immigration law, then all US laws might be something they’d disrespect?

Then again, these are the same people who will use one insane shooter to justify eliminating the Second Amendment. And the same crowd who continue to push amnesty while ignoring a Russian national riding around in Pennsylvania with a suitcase bomb.

Moreover, how is it that the figure of 11 million illegals, cited by liberals, has remained static for six years when 4,000 to 10,000 people a day are sneaking across the border?  Correct me if I’m wrong, but that ups the illegal immigrant tally to anywhere between nine and 22 million additional individuals earning the ‘right to citizenship’ by border-busting.

How illegal entry into a sovereign nation is now considered “earning the right” to be an American citizen proves the perversion and thick-headedness of the  Obama administration. Especially considering those who work hard to obey the law and earn an honest living are being punished economically for what used to be viewed as good citizenship.

In addition, the penalty imposed by those who are supposed to be protecting Americans includes having 11+ million people who broke the law foisted upon our nation.

Then, to add insult to injury, the US government is justifying the confiscation of hard-earned wages through higher taxes to support the needs of wrongdoers whom liberals view as having “earned the right to citizenship.”

Greek Yogurt-Infused Guacamole for Mexican Illegals

guacamole-1-300x200Originally posted at The Blacksphere

Too bad there’s no such thing as Mexican yogurt.

After hearing that Michelle Obama is planning on taking some gastric tubing to any public school receiving government subsidies for free lunches and forcing thick, protein-laden Greek yogurt through it, it got me thinking. If Greek illegals aren’t obese, and Mexican illegals are, why would Mamá Obama insist on feeding Greek yogurt to fat illegal Mexican kids occupying seats in our public schools?

We now know that Mexico is fatter than the US. With her broccoli-loving husband pushing for amnesty and beckoning the chicos and chicas to race over the border, “Let’s Move,” wait – “Vamos a Pasar” Michelle certainly has her work cut out for her.

According to a UN report, 70% of Mexican adults are corpulent, one-third of Mexican teenagers are obese, and childhood obesity in Mexico has tripled in the past decade. There are 70,000 weight-related diabetes-caused deaths in Mexico per year and 400,000 new cases of diabetes annually.

That means with Mrs. Obama’s husband pushing for amnesty and the border remaining wide open, lots more chubby DREAM actors will be trekking up the free-stuff highway into the US looking for grub.

The good news for Mexico’s healthcare system is that conservative guesstimations say that 11 million illegals are already here, and more realistic guesstimations put that number at about 30 million. So it could be that 33% of those obese Mexicans are part of that 30 million who’ve mustered up the energy to overrun America.

Among those indomitable invaders are probably muffin-topped Mexican illegals who, along with other ethnicities, are currently on the pathway to citizenship.  And if they are, illegal adipose of the Mexican persuasion will be taking up a lot of space in those soon-to-be overcrowded Obamacare health clinics.

As for Mexican illegals already here, they are well aware that Mamá Obama is policing food choice more stringently than her husband polices the border. So now is the perfect time to beckon plump family members who are migrating from rural to urban Mexico to get a little exercise and keep moving north.

In the meantime, seeing as there’s no such thing as Mexican yogurt, to deal with the gut glut about to befall America maybe Michelle can tie public school lunch program subsidies to mixing up Greek yogurt with the guacamole.

Supporting is Costlier than Deporting Illegals

deportation-300x195

While Democrats are busy romanticizing illegal immigration and portraying sneaking over the border to be some kind of heroic act, the American culture and economy continue to suffer – not to mention the health of the American people being jeopardized by gatecrashers infected with dangerous diseases like antibiotic-resistant TB.

For some reason Democrats, whose voter base consists of those dependent on the system, apparently don’t recognize the dichotomy of citing work ethic and familial solidarity as reasons illegals benefit America.  The left is clearly not sharp enough to realize how promoting amnesty by touting hardworking, family-oriented illegals undercuts the effort to cultivate a one-parent family/welfare mentality power base.

For years the American electorate has had the lie pounded into their heads that rounding up and deporting illegals would be an impossible feat. Yet, Democrats in the Senate voted 43-56 against a proposed bill that would prevent border crashers from getting free health insurance if amnesty becomes a reality.  It would seem finding illegals is feasible if doing so furthers Democrat policy goals.

The number of immigrants living in the US illegally is believed by some experts to be a conservative 11 million, which raises another question: If counting illegal aliens is possible, how come catching them is not?

The answer matters little because the number is likely closer to 30 million.  And every day, about 3 thousand more stream through airports and overstay their visas, while others are brazen enough to slink over 18-foot fences in plain sight of four US senators touring the border.

Once here, if apprehended and a judge decides not to deport them, illegals instantly become eligible for all kinds of public assistance.  In other words, these individuals who are supposedly impossible to catch, if they should happen to be caught, instead of being sent home are allowed to stay and become a financial liability to a nation already overburdened with crushing debt.

Thus, the question that should be asked is this: Do Democrats really expect Americans to believe that undocumented people are impossible to find? Don’t the children of illegals overcrowd our classrooms?  Don’t you need a utility bill to register a child in public school? And again, isn’t the left hoping to offer illegals free healthcare?  If so, how will those hiding in the shadows receive a free Medicaid-style insurance card if they can’t be located?

Healthcare Camaraderie Centers – American Thinker – July 3, 2010

Obamacare has actually found a way to inject the friend factor into health care reform.  In fact, community organizer Barack Obama may ultimately be responsible for advancing neighborhood camaraderie through government altruism.  It seems that as an added benefit of “free” medical care, crowded emergency rooms have the potential to be transformed into social gathering places where patients wheeled in on stretchers leave with a whole new group of friends.

How, you ask?  Well, one change the Obamacare overhaul is poised to deliver is extended ER wait times.  After bleeding for 4 hours before receiving triage evaluation, ER patients will be directed toward MRSA-infested waiting rooms jammed with people who, when forced to spend 72 hours together, could become lifetime friends.

Obama’s much touted nothing-is-free health care promises to cost the duped both quality and access.  An added bonus is the opportunity to fritter away precious time sitting in the ER perfecting Sudoku skills.

Savvy ER patients who used to pack a snack, afghan and a change of socks should now also pack a toothbrush. If predictions are on target, patients waiting for a butterfly stitch may find themselves eating stale Sun Chips® out of a vending machine for days on end.

Wasn’t it just a few months ago that Obama led Americans to believe, along with many other fabrications, that “getting 32 million more people covered by health insurance would ease the persistent problem of ER crowding?” The argument presented was that, thanks to Obamacare, patients that typically use the ER for minor issues like sore throats would have access to “routine health care by visiting a doctor’s office, as most of the insured do.”

One problem: there’s “already a shortage of front-line family physicians…and experts think that will get worse.” Fewer doctors coupled with 32 million additional people glutting the government dole translates into ER rooms perpetually resembling JFK’s terminal 4 during the eruption of Eyjafjallajokull.

American College of Emergency Physicians president Dr. Angela Gardner says, “We’re starting out with crowded conditions and anticipating things will only get worse.”

If Obama gets his way, add to the 32 million the conservative figure of another 11 million illegals receiving amnesty and health care, and ERs across the nation will be forced to provide collapsible cots to accommodate overnight guests waiting for ice packs and ace bandages.

According to experts like Dr. Arthur L. Kellermann, “More people will have coverage and will be less afraid to go to the emergency department if they’re sick or hurt and have nowhere else to go.”

Seems as though Yes We Can just became “No we can’t!”

Perfect! Deluge the system before the means to accommodate the influx is in place.  Sounds like a recipe for government hope and change disaster. Overcrowd the lifeboat. Escape a burning building by cramming the elevator with more weight than the cable can handle. Jump out of the aircraft, worry about the parachute later.

Obamacare is about to be foisted upon America.  So as the world’s best health care is overwhelmed by official procedures, systemic inefficiency, and bureaucratic oversight, if – God forbid – you should happen to visit an emergency room, get geared up to meet lots of new and interesting friends and make sure to bring an overnight bag.
